  1. ""Garland's injury worries me. It's the same bone that's kept Egan out for 3 years."" Saw Col before the game, he wasnt wearing a "moon boot" on his foot - just dress shoes to go with his suit. Knowing what I know about foot/ankle injuries (2 broken ankles & 2 reco's), Im guessing it aint as bad as Egan's as if it was he would be in a moon boot to protect it.
  2. Never heard of North getting themselves in a bind over the years unlike other clubs (including ours), granted - he may not have held othe position he does now, but I believe his head is well & truly screwed on right. In the time he was at North (during the Pagan years), they were the best run footy club in the league - may not have had lots of cash, but was pretty bloody well run on and off the field.
  3. My top 5 players that I saw (1989 - present) 1. Garry Lyon 2. Jimmy Stynes 3. David Schwarz 4. David Neitz 5. Todd Viney I know its a bit limited (time wise), but - can only go on players that I have seen week in week out live in action Toughest 1) Rod Grinter 2) David Schwarz (3 knee reco's and he still came back & played bloody well - thats tough for me) 3) Todd Viney (Tough at the ball and never took a backward step) 4) Jimmy Stynes (Played in a hard position on the body, always go hurt but never layed down) 5) Steve Tingay (had a huge amount of bad injuries, but never ever gave up - kept going & going) ** My opion of "toughness" may differ from others, but like haircuts - we all have them.
  4. Great work MFC - a well known footy man who has plenty plenty of experience and has the respect of the footy world, as I said - great work MFC!!!!! Onwards and upwards Demons!!!!
  5. Totally agree, was not on his pat malone there (though, it wasnt like everyone had a shocking day). There is only so much you can do with the players that you have on the park. We will get better and better
  6. Great to see that things are moving along. Remember people, we dont always have to be in the headlines to prove that we are moving forward. It gladdens my heart to hear that we are almost over the line with 2 sponsers (I always knew that we would get a sponser before the start of the season). True, it would be great if one sponser could give us the $$ we need - but, in our situation and whats going on the world - who cares?? Really like the idea of a MFC lunch for the season launch - get behind it AFL is all I can say! Great to see that the other Presidents are supporting it by coming along - yes, we all compete against each other, but - they want us to be strong too. Thirdly - the news of Barrass, Flower and Lyon becoming patrons of the club is music to my ears and should be to every MFC supporter. You will believe it when you see it as it will happen!
