  1. At the end of the day - tough [censored] Pies, you missed him & we have him. Thats football.
  2. Great news! Much better than a loss after a year like we have had...
  3. For a start - Pendlebury & Beams DIDNT play, so there is no point at all including them in your argument here. Anthony did nothing (except be lucky to held by the arm by a thick head in Rutten) Yes, everyone would consider Cloke (who is 22 & has played 99 games) to be a mature player. What would you consider a mature player?? 150 games?? 200 games?? You talk about RS noms etc, has a Filth player won it? Yes, you have played finals over the last couple of years, but like any club - your club has had down periods for a few years. So, dont get ahead of yourself. Your comment on Jack Watts shows you have no idea at all about football. BTW - if you cant show respect here - p155 off!!!!!! FFS
  4. Was taken by family friend to the Melb v Nth Mel Elimination Final '87. Went the next week with my dad to Melb v Syd Semi Final. Hardcore Demon from then on. Member since 1989 .
  5. Garry Lyon said on MMM a few weeks ago exactly the same thing. He said for a player like Jack to follow Nicks training by going doing there and watching his finals matches. Once he had watched these games and training sessions that this is the benchmark he has to attain to. Garry also said for our midfield to watch players like Lenny Hayes & Joel Sellwood (again, in training & finals matches). Seems like a bloody good idea for me...........
  6. It was a great weekend for ALL football suporters this weekend; Essendon, Carlton & Collingwood all lost their final. Now Im crossing my fingers for the Scum to take out the Filth out in straight sets (then the Scum to be knocked out in the Prelim final) :D
  7. Totally, totally agree - could not have it said better myself.
  8. Must dissagree with you there, would have J. Brown in a MFC jumper in a blink of an eye if it was possible. I would be more than happy to have my children have J.Brown as a rolemodel - yes, he may have done some things he shouldnt have done - but, havnt we all???
  9. Judd given 2 weeks for "making unnecessary and unreasonable contact to Rischitelli's face". If he fights it - he risks 3 weeks. Fair enough I say, wasnt "eye gouging" - but shouldnt & didnt need to have his fingers in the players face like that.
  10. I dont know about anyone else, but MFC supporters i talk to say our midfield have played better this year than last year & the midfielders say he has been a huge help. He was a great teacher to the young Bulldog players in his last years. Says to me his is a very good man to have at the club.
  11. Robbo - just saw your speach to the boys on TFS. Mate, that is why we ALL love you brother - you speak from the heart, wear that heart on your sleeve and we know you love this footy club all the way. And we love you mate. Whatever happens and wherever you go - you will ALWAYS be part of the MFC family Russ.
  12. Round 20 nominations have not been listed as yet - only rounds 1 -19 have been done. Be patient people.
  13. According to everyone's fav person (Hutchy) on TFS, Wheats, Robbo & Wheels have all been informed that they will not be required next year. According to Hutchy, Robbo was as late as today going to retire - but is now keeping his options open (i.e Bulldogs). Please Russ - retire, I know you would love to play on - but, us mad Melbourne lovers here & everywhere dont want to see you in another club. Thanks to all 3 - 3 great clubmen.
  14. You seem to fail to realize that Garry was only one person on the coaching sub-comittee - he was not the only person who chose DB! Others chose DB too, otherwise he would not have got the job. Btw - how do you know that DB is "the worst coach possible"??? How do you know another coach who was on the final list would have done any better to this stage??
  15. Please come home Garry, please!!!!!! Not that I want him to take DB's job from under him. BTW - Totally agree with you Jaded, and I know Garry would be the first one to thank DB & his coaching team.
  16. FFS - give the kid a bloody break for cring out loud!!!!
  17. Tell me - why is that so funny?? You never made a mistake???
  18. Ahhh, he has done his "penance" with been out for 3 weeks. He would be fitter than most of the side - given he has 3 weeks to get over sore spots & has been doing extra tarining sessions due to not playing.
  19. Glad to hear you & your little fella will be making the trip down. We need as many there as we can get (and nobody give me that crap that it is "too hard"!) As stated above - Ticketmaster seels the tix. You can by them during the week or buy them at the gate - either way, would be best to get there early as there is only a small section of GA seating. Jump on a V-Line train from Southern & get off at Sth Geelong - no more than a 3 min walk (just follow everyone else lol). Would advise against driving - no parking really (street parking only).
  20. Thats why he was a bloody great captain - he had that fierce aura about him. Saw him up close on game day often (in the rooms, in the race & on the field before the bounce) - bloody fierce! Everone who loves the MFC is right behind you Jimma - we know you will stare this down.
  21. Just saw a pretty emotinal Garry on TFS telling how he feels & his reaction to Jimma & his condition. Can honestly say there was a lump in my throat watching Gaz talk about his great mate - cannot beging to imagine how Garry & other close mates feel about having to watch their great buddy go through what he is going through. Garry also implored to all MFC supporters/members to get along & also to wear their MFC jumper as a tribute to Jimma. He also held up his old No 3 (was bloody great to see it again!!) I implore EVERY MFC player to leave nothing on that ground - give everything. And everone else - get along, yell, scream, stamp your feet - do whatever you have to do to show your support for the big man.
  22. Seriously, You can only bring players in to cover others who are similar players - "like for like players". Cant bring in an apple for an orange. Very very harsh on a man who plays with what he has (yes, he can improve - but he ain't gunna be a Wayne Carey). "hat him as a footballer" is a bit rough. Ahh, Junior had a sore knee from the St.Kilda game and obviously needs another week off - i dont think he has been dropped
  23. Maybe it had something to do with the amount of outs we have for this game ............ FWIW - if we dropped every player who had an unacceptable game last monday, there would be no players left to play!
  24. How do you say that?? Our game plan is based on run out of defense, through the midfield using quick foot and hand skills (like most other sides). The difference between us and other sides is the skills and the decision making of the players. If you actually watch closely how we play on game day - you will see it isnt ugly or defensive orintated football (when played right & properly).
  25. Except for the last match against the Pies, I would have to disagree with you. R6 (Geel) - didnt get blown away or smashed like many footy people expected against the best side, R7 (WCE) Almost won against opposition who are pretty hard to beat on their own dunghill, R8 (WB) Pushed the side who many say are third in line for winning the flag all the way - only just losing, R9 (Haw) Fought back hard against last years premiers who jumped us early - never gave up & dropped heads, R10 (St.K) - Pushed second in line for the flag for the 1st half before been swallowed by their defence. Yes, R11 (Coll) was one out of the books (and not in a good way!!). Maybe the break came one week too late for the boys - who knows??. We will see how they go against the Bombers, but I believe imo that we are heading in the right direction are we are on the way.
