If Buckley is smart he would sit tight at Colllingwood for a year or two then take on a coaching role at a club on the rise. Of course it requires one of the coaches of a club on the rise to be moved on, or for the league to create a club and give them an arm chair ride to success via rediculaous allocations of draft picks.

I don't know his dad, but I have picked up on a few "character" issues with John. Very early days yet but this combined with a tendancy to be injured are very worrying. It is popular despite not being televised at primetime, because it is a genuinely interesting event for all footy fans, it's probably the 2nd most popular non-game event in footy 2nd only to the bownlow, and I would much rather watch the draft than the Brownlow. I still havn't heard a good argument for not doing it in reverse order either, it doesn't change anything, it's not a tradition or anything like that it just adds a touch of drama and interest.

I don't see what the problem is, I like the idea. It definately needs to be on TV (free to air) in primetime and I don't mind the reverse order part of it either, adds to the drama of it. last year I tried watching it on the internet that died the so I listened to it on the radio.

I'm not here to make friends. As your first post suggests: If Bell was contracted only for this year he would be out the door. Just because he has a 2 year contract and paying it out would mean a loss of $$ doesn't mean we should keep him. I would prefer that he had the chance to play for the rest of the season and prove himself one way or the other but that chance is gone with his injury. Regrettable, but there have been better players delisted for the same reason.

That would be 9 wins straight, almost garuanteed to win the premiership with that kind of form going into the finals. But we'd only get pick 16 in this scenario!!! A shocking return for the year.

What's wrong with Jurrahcane? I like it, I also heard someone in th crown call him "Rah" kind of as a "Raarrgghhh", easy to yell. Both honour him and his people in an appropriate way.
