A couple of points: To you it's good info, to everyone else it's information from somebody called "Beetle" and we have no way of judging the veracity of it other than your word. It's not personal, but people are entitled to be sceptical. We have seen a *lot* of this type of information before and it varies from correct, to a mangled chinese whisper, to an outright lie. Often the poster could be correctly relaying what they heard but their source got the wrong end of the stick. Secondly, people will be doubtful about this particular item because it just sounds unlikely after the year he had. On top of that, it beggars belief that no other club would be interested. There's no need to get pissy about it when people question your post, it is inevitable and perfectly reasonable for that to happen. Try to understand a little bit where people are coming from.

Oh did he? Thanks for filling me in, I was in a coma for those years. I can't ever connect sad football fan consequences with actual real life consequences, but okay.

It's always like this. I've been on these forums for a very long time, and lately I find myself being positive almost out of spite.

6. Garlett - the timing of his purple patch bumps him to the top. Not necessarily the best across 4 quarters. 5. Hogan 4. Oliver - probably the best "4" game of all time - just too hard to look past Jeffy's clutch play and Hogan's Hoganness 3. Jones 2. Petracca 1. Gawn

North are either flag favourites or the worst team of all time, depending on which half of that game you watched. Sorry, still not remotely afraid of them.

We won, mate. You don't have to celebrate - god knows I'm not - but don't mourn. By round 23 this will have been long forgotten.
-
Could definitely have done without the heart attack. Goes down as a 26 point victory, that's the main thing. I'm not going to mourn, though I know plenty will. Jesus, I need a drink.

We need the percentage? You reckon round 2 is the last opportunity we'll get to give a team a hiding?
-
Still tipping us by 60.

Bugg's goal kicking is 100% mental.

Is this about Tyson? lol if you're bagging him. Just lol.

Brisbane remind me of the first year Roos MFC team. No question of endeavour, just ball slaughter after error after cockup, and suddenly you are miles behind when you haven't even been that bad really. Wait for the confidence drop to come next. We really, really need to bury them.

Be f*** if I can get my TV to the right resolution. It's really giving me the irrits.

The first half was regulation belting game. An absolute arm wrestle before the weaker team completely capitulate. You probably haven't seen this movie much before Drunkn being late to the Dees party, but believe me, we all have. If we are as good as I hope, this will be a hiding from here on.

Anyone still want to tell me Brisbane aren't garbage?

A few putting their character on show in this thread, and it isn't pretty.

Ability to reflect positively on a game - especially a loss - comes after the initial emotional stab dissipates, but only if you allow it. Plenty on here don't. I usually stay off this site for a few hours after a bad loss to avoid posting anything rash. I can't relate at all to anyone who claims not to feel disappointed after losing.
-
It's generous to put a player with one game to his name in that company.

I agree on really enjoying the game last week, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't care at the time that we didn't win. And I could have been looking in the mirror when I looked at my 8 year old son who had his hands on his head with a grimace on his face when Gawn missed, and I know his level of emotional investment is well below mine. I'd much prefer the feeling of victory over the disappointment of a loss.
-
If Brisbane unexpectedly field a competent side, then I'll settle for a hard fought win too. I'm expecting them to field the team of pus they fielded last week though. Make no mistake, they are a hopeless side.
-
I know exactly what you mean, I just made a conscious decision a few years ago not to allow myself to be conditioned. I see so many Melbourne supporters on this forum who are broken (spend some time in the match day threads if you get a chance), and I refuse to let that happen. Like everyone else, I went through the Neeld era always knowing wins were unlikely and I reckon my love for footy would have petered out long ago if I was still looking at everything through that lens.

I'm just waiting to be told about how my attitude is what causes us to drop these games. Pretty disappointing response so far!
-
We will win this game by 10 goals or more. You lot are off your chops if you think they will get near us.

If Brown kicks 10, the whole team has probably spectacular failed. Or if he kicks 10 but it's their only 10 and we've kicked 20, it would be an outstanding result. The key defender really only needs to be the closest match for strength. The rest is about intelligence from the rest of our team, the whole team but particularly the defensive group.
