Yeah, I won't be picking the Eagles next week. Pretty disgusting isn't it. I am a huge fan of Goodall and his leadership, especially given I'm a fan of one of the worst run leagues in the entire world... But their handling of this is looking pretty dodgy. The video is disgusting but you hate to see them being reactionary... Kudos to the Ravs for pissing him off though. If you're really, really nice to me I'll give old Chipper a call and tell him you can have Barkley for your second rounder next year. lol You missed the boat on dirty Sanchez though. Like the eagles are now. Ok, I'll stop.

I do try to respect them. And I do succeed to a degree. But they're missing something. Or at least they were last year. Can't help but feel a bit meh towards Palmer. Maybe that's it. But yes, their brand is a lot of fun to watch.

Well if I'm still up for points I could just pick the away team in both... lol... But no if I had the whole round to choose from, I'd have gotten 2/3... Bengals, Vikings and Saints... and lost on Saints. These two games? I'm Eagles, so I'll be watching the Gmen get slaughtered. Then after that, Chargers to win.

Yeah. 16-0 is almost impossible. And yeah that's good to know for my tips.

lol. Looking at 49ers today and Seattle on Thursday humiliate the Packers who are a legitimate SB threat.... I will be picking the Hawks with confidence.

100% agree. I had a mate who likes a bet ask me who to bet on. I said Seattle. He said which game. I said, whichever one you want... They really could go 16-0

Yeah. As a die-hard Eagle, watching Romo screw up today on 7mate after a massive relief of a second half was pretty awesome. Yeah I am happy with Eagles generally. However, we haven't played anyone yet. Jacksonville aren't very good (getting better) and they made us play absolutely disgusting footy for a whole half. And yeah I think you'll find Foles isn't THAT great. Chip Kelly is a freaking genius... But Foles can be patchy. Take today, he was all over the shop the whole time... missing easy throws. It's the scheming and clever use of TEs and WRs that gets them open. The Maclin TD was because Chip had confused the hell out of Jacksonville's players. I think Eagles will take Division. And SHOULD win a playoff game. But there's no superbowls for them this year. Wow Seattle are good. And there's about 4 other NFC teams better than Eagles. Or at least more proven. Yeah NFL is the only relief out there for me. Other than the Ashes last year. I think you should keep a weather eye out on Vikes. They'll be up to their ears in it all year. Too much talent not to be. There' a comp?!!!!! I came back a week late.

Yeah. What happens if you go 3-3? Or 2-3 now that you've won one... Surely you must be thinking postseason?

Love it. Only the NFL comes up with cool stuff like this... So cowboy from hell, but Vikes fan?

Yeah to be honest, that is a damn awful situation. I think pretty much everyone feels sorry for Rams. Are you sort of partly glad now that you'll look past Bradford in the future? I mean.... Mariotta will be in the draft this year?

Ah Georgiou... that surprises me. I rate da behrs quite highly. Took Cutler as my QB in fantasy too... Could it be possible it was just a bumpy start for week 1? I have them as my second wild card team?

Wow. Tough loss for Eagles. Maclin TD and I'm celebrating thinking we're almost to a 4-2 record before the bye, then the wheels came off completely. Not one phase of the game did their job in the last 6 minutes. Devastating loss. Eagles now probably less than a middle of the road team. McCoy not playing like a pro bowler, Vick going to get benched if he goes on like this. Reid likely to get canned. Very, very wobbly. Interesting to see the Giants manhandle the 49ers... who put up 80 points or something in 2 weeks. And with RG3 running all over the place against a strong Vikings this year. The only solace, Dallas look even worse than the Eagles... Got a lot of work to do.

This is a good forum to be on I reckon. From my count we have an Eagles supporter, a couple of 49ers fans, A Texans fan, Giants, a number of packers fans....That's a fairly good spread of business end teams. I think even a Cards fan might be banging around... even they're looking pretty good.

Yeah. Those first four teams really do look so far ahead of everyone else. Kind of like how the Saints, Patriots and Packers have been in recent years. It's good, a changing of the guard. The 49ers particularly surprise the hell out of me. I remember when they beat the Eagles last year everyone was shocked, since they weren't supposed to be good. Fast forward a year and they're pretty much the most feared outfit in the NFL. They get it right don't they, the Americans. Loving the Vikings and Cards too... Rams are finally putting it together, as is their whole division actually. A couple of years ago that division was the laughing stock of the league. Reward for effort. I picked the pack to go all the way this year, and I expect them to work their way into contention again. Rodgers will see to that. And I'm excited to see how the NFC East plays out. With the Skins doing so well, it actually looks like it'll be a 4 horse race right up until the last couple of divisional games. The Giants beat the Iggles last year in their early meeting, and that win was actually what made the difference and got them into the playoffs, and eventually a superbowl title. This year the corresponding game was a win for Reid's boys... Dunno if that will make a difference, but I know being 3-2 instead of 1-4 like last year means that I have some faith.

Hello again NFL fans! I've been away a while now. But back. Have been watching the season closely. Given all the luck my Iggles missed out on last year, it seems they have found some this year... Having said that, quality wise, they're sort of treading water. Signed and drafted 2 linebackers who have been doing well, but then the DL has recorded hardly any sacks. Rodgers Cromartie at cornerback has been fantastic, but then Nnamdi hasn't... We finally found some run defence, but haven't used our pro bowl RB much... Jackson is back in form, but Vick has lost his effortless touch. Found some new names, but then our starting centre and left tackle, both of whom are our best offensive linemen are both gone for the season, which has had a horrible effect on Vick being hurried and hit... Bottom line, if we can curtail the turnovers even just a little bit, we'd be 4-2 with wins over the Ravens, Steelers and Giants... that's pretty hefty opposition. The Eagles have been ok somehow... but I think the damn might just burst if they can't work out some cohesion on the OL.... This week against Lions, going into the bye, would have them 4-2 or 3-3... Huge game. As for the other teams, can't believe my pick, the Pack have lost their mojo. The Saints have been awful. But really it's all about the Texans and 49ers this year. Both sides lethal in a big way. With Falcons not far behind. Matty Ice currently my league MVP.

They were supposed to come good this last season. They still probably will this year. That'll make that division much more watchable. The Cards are on a hiding to nowhere, and the Seahawks aren't likely to be going to a superbowl anytime soon. So the door's wide open for the Rams to meet the 49ers head on. Manningham is a good one. And yeah, Newton is amazing to watch, so RG3 might be similar. Vick and he in the same division will be awesome too...
  21. How do you find it?
  22. Cheeky. Phillies awful...
  23. Love Gilly's rating. I think the OP is about right. Warne second after Bradman. Both were once in a lifetime cricketers. Can't comment on Benaud and Chappel though. Weird. A good top ten.

I hate/love the 49ers. They weren't supposed to be good last year, and yet, they were... and it was no flash in the pan. They've got the coach no-one saw coming, and a list of talent that suddenly is coing together. My opinion? You're right. They had very late draft picks courtesy of having an amazing year. The picks they took were all, I thought, a vote of confidence in Smith, as well as their defence which was absolutely fantastic last year. I like that they basically mixed it up getting Smith some weapons and some protection... They might not play a lot, but then, do they need to? The only hole in the 49ers really is the QB, and if that's your hole, then wow you're doing well. I like it cos you have all those weapons, and now, if you DO bail on Smith and go for a new QB at some point, it's plug and play with that team around him. Yup. Dead on the money there. But then we said that for last year too. And they put up awful numbers. They're a bit like the dees. Drafted talent upon talent... and much of it hasn't come through. So they drafted again, and now they have all these big picks, and are HOPING they'll come through. At some point, you're right, they will... but when is the only question. It really could be this year. Don't worry though, Seahawks are awful and Cards only a little better. I watched Kolb pretty closely at Philly when he was there, and I never saw what Reid saw in him. They'll never knock off a Harbaugh while Kolb is under centre. Yup. The Browns fascinate me as they seem to get names all over the joint, like Hillis and McCoy. And then lose them, or fail to develop them. They could either be the same old same old, or in two years, they lift their game to maybe threaten to push for 3rd in their division. One thing's for sure, there's no way they're getting past the Steelers, Ravens OR the Bengals all of whom are heavy hitters this coming year. I have heard a lot of people call that a dumb call. And it is. But I can KIND of see the reason behind it. If you went into a draft with the QB core they had, basically ONLY Grossman and Beck, you would probably go into the draft and say, you know what? Screw it... let's just get RG3, and his backup all in one go, instead of stuffing around with some nuff nuff journeyman. It's the most important position in professional sports, so why not up your chances of succeeding there? Of course the reason you don't recruit two is because you can't be training a kid while also training his backup. I get that. But it COULD work. RG3 is going to take punishment, Cousins will probably take some snaps. The reason the logic falls down is that obviously if by some miracle the league gets to see that Cousins is ok, they will have to trade him... when they could have just traded the pick itself for something in next year's draft. It's definitely dumb, but if somehow RG3 fails, and Cousins becomes a star, people will think the Skinnies are geniuses. I'm pumped to watch RG3 play, but only cos I don't think he'll get them to the playoffs in the next 2 seasons. After that though, ouch. As if it's not bad enough going up against Eli and Romo in this conference. Now Vick has a 21 year old taller version of himself he's up against.

Anyone else follow the draft? Pantaloons, your boys did very, very well. Poe is a player who will either boom or bust. My boys took a DT too, one pick after you, so I'll watch Poe and Cox's careers with interest... I can say all I like that Cox was the Eagles first choice, and that may be true, but I would have loved Poe, personally. Obviously Poe is a nose tackle, and Cox is more mobile... both belong in their specific schemes.... but still. Colts did brilliantly, getting Luck and all his mates from College. Bengals did well too, getting receivers. Cowgirls got the best CB. Poor old Seahawks and Browns look like they stuffed it. Having said that, the Browns first pick is going to be pretty damn good...
