  1. Will be there for my third game this year (Missed the Hawks game). Would love a win, I'll still keep going this year win lose or draw, if only to watch Beamer.
  2. Source? Not doubting you Rolling Stone but I just want to see a full report on it.
  3. Does anyone else advocate the selection of PJ as FF for the whole match, with Jamar and White swapping the ruck? I think it could be worth a try with Neita and Robbo out, just have Yze and Flash at his feet and kick it long.
  4. On the positive side, I'd say this team is better than the one that beat Geelong at SS in 2005.
  5. I know it's pretty easy to say now, but I've always rated Bell. His physical attributes (Strength, speed) are excellent and his footskills are very good. He is also very hard at it and accountable. I personally think he should move into the midfield more (As it has already been said) as he would be a good tagger, as not many players will run away from him or outmuscle him.
  6. All they have to do is bring back last years gameplan and we'll win fairly easily. A lot easier said than done. ND will be under the pump and he'd be a fool to keep the run and carry gameplan style going. It is very frustrating watching Geelong (a side I think we're a fair bit better than) simply keep the ball moving forward with long kicks and hard running and destroy Carlton, when we just handball for no reason around the HBF line.
  7. Frawley looks the goods, Carroll is a very solid FB and is now rarely beaten, we all know how good Rivers is (ND needs to start playing him on whoever lines up on CHF, like the big forwards in Brown, Tredrea etc) and I believe Bell, Whelan, Bartram and Ward are good enough small defenders. Like others in this thread, I think the ruck is an issue. Whitey will continue to be on the decline and can't really compete with the best rucks in the competition anymore and beat them.
  8. Wheatley I wouldn't mind back in over Ward to be honest. They are similiar players but Wheatley can play tall, and with Bell, Whelan and Bartram already in the side we have enough small defenders, though Ward was decent last week and provided some forward movement when other players just ****ed around with the ball. TJ needs to step up. I fear he may never realise his potential. The other Johnsons aren't guys who will lift our side. It's up to Bruce, Green, Yze, Davey, Miller and co., and it'd be nice if they actually lifted when we need them for once.
  9. Had they played that way last week it could have been a nil all draw.
  10. Still early days, but ND must realise we have to throw the run and carry gameplan out the window. We are not WCE. I'm sick of ND trying to copy sides. First he tried to copy the hard teams (True, we were soft) by recruiting McLean and Sylvia, then last year we tried to copy Sydney with the chip it around gameplan, now we're trying to be WCE by using run and carry all the time. When we won games last year we did a mixture of all of those. We were the best tackling team in the competition, we kicked long and short depending on the situation and we above all were disciplined.
  11. This has been irritating me for a while. Flash isn't a player who will win a lot of his own ball up the ground. He should always play deep forward as he is nearly impossible to stop when crumbing at full pelt.
  12. His time is now, of that there is no doubt. He has the potential to win us a few games this year and still be an AA FP, but it is up to him. Personally I want him to play Friday night, and to show us whether he's committed or not.
  13. Moloney - So sorely missed Yze - Tore Saints apart Robbo - Back to best Flash - Finally beat Baker Bell - He has arrived
  14. Thanks all for the help. Sat near the Saints cheersquad last year during the elim final, they are a very quiet bunch.
  15. Of course mate. Always enjoy reading it. Feel like doing a prediction for each player for Friday night at any chance? I'll do one if you don't want to.
  16. Does anyone know if there will be general admission seating on the ground level on Friday night? I know it is unlikely as the game will have a 60,000+ crowd but I'm just making sure there isn't any. Cheers all, GO DEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. About a 9 now, it'll gradually build as I take the train down and walk into the MCG, when the ump blows his whistle I'll be at breaking point.
  18. No surprise to see Beamer in there. With McLean, Sylvia, Jones, Moloney and co. now in the best 22, intimidation is not a thing I think our side will fall foul of for quite a few years.
  19. In the current side I'd have to say the best mark of a footy would be Rivers easily, he reads the flight of the ball better than anyone else and has exceptional hands.
  20. True, it will be an interesting test. If Riewoldt and Hudghton are out it is a huge blow for them. Rivers will be freed up to sit in Gehrig's space and Neita, well he usually kills Max but it will most likely be Maguire on Neita (Who Neita towelled up last year) which will stuff up their structure. I wouldn't think they'd play Hayes, he'll be doing a lot of running and they don't want to risk a midfielder who has done an ACL less than 12 months ago.
  21. FB: Whelan Carroll Holland HB: CJ Rivers Bell C: Johnstone Bruce Moloney HF: Green Miller Pickett FF: Robertson Neitz Davey FOLL: White McDonald McLean I/C: Yze Jones Bate Jamar Emergencies: Dunn Ward Bizzell
  22. Just wanting to know who will be rested/is injured, does anyone know any definites aside from White? I'm particularly interested to know if Beamer will be playing. Cheers
  23. As it has already been said, Yze has the potential to be AA FP and dominate all season, it's all up to his mental capacity.
  24. Considering Junior and Bartram are already our no.1 and no.2 taggers, I'd play Col every day of the week.
