Koutoufides, 34, is understood to have aggravated a hip injury during Saturday's 10-point loss to St Kilda. With the 14th-placed Blues well out of finals contention, Koutoufides has decided to retire, effective immediately. He is a two-time Blues best and fairest winner and was also one of the stars of the club's most recent premiership in 1995. Koutoufides will officially announce his retirement at a media conference at Princes Park at 12.30pm (AEST) today.
