Yeah I like Barry, he's pretty unlucky really. But was just a crazy fight! If you can track down the Joey Lauzon v Warburton fight from that card it's worth a watch, the sub will make you cringe, nice!

Was a big shot, and only just reached him (Sots) unfortunately. However it seems any time he gets tagged his legs turn to soup. He was KTFO on TUF, they say you're never the same after a big one. I actually don't think his stand up is that bad, I'd take his striking over many other BJJ black belts. Obviously his boxing is a little slow and he doesn't get out the way in time though! I think his biggest flaw is his flimsy takedowns (read attempts). When your stand up is not better than the other guys, and you've got zero wrestling, being one of the best BJJ guys in the world is rendered useless. No one is on the back foot against him worrying about being taken down, so they can stand and trade with confidence, then it becomes about luck. If he had takedowns he'd have beaten Siver (although Siver's takedown defense is excellent) no question. And had he got Dos Anjos to the mat it would have been some BJJ spectacle. Did you see the Kongo vs Barry card?

The best fighter of all time without question. 132 discussion: Great fights, rubbish results! Firstly I'll get the judges out of the way, Handsome Matt says hello and get f... George Sotiropoulos, any title shot is now a long gone dream, slightly unluckly, glass jaw methinks. Melvin Guillard - Boy this kid has come a long way, why was he on the prelims? Anyway, would LOVE to see Melvin vs Franky. Speed vs Speed, Melvin could take it with power, hits like a LHW. Looks like it's Siver next though, will be too fast for the German ball of muscle (who did NOT beat Wiman) Speaking of LHW, Tito.... I bloody knew he'd fluke a win, I just knew it. Of course he's "so healthy" right now, didn't see that coming. Now he's comparing himself to Bones Jones, delusional egomaniac. Come on Dana, this is primed for the biggest MMA money maker of all time, get Chuck out of the office and into the octagon. Wandy Like Chuck, can't take a punch any more. This fight killed me, but I saw it coming. Probably should retire, but it'd be a shyte way to go out... but then again it always is. Carlos Condit, killer. Would love to see him V Nick Diaz, would be a sick fight and I reckon Carlos could KHTFO. So I guess I'll be going for Diaz against GSP then take a long shower. Loved the title fight, was going for Faber, but he didn't do enough. Would like to see Aldo drop down and smack Cruz around a bit, although Faber may hear this and drop down to flyweight! Njokuani looked brilliant, one to watch in the future for sure.

131 thoughts Yves Edwards, you poor bastard! Sam Stout finally shows that he does have hands of stone. That was one of the most brutal knock outs I've ever seen. I had Yves in a multibet, cost me. JDS - Class bloke, class boxing skills, I'm backing him against Cain. Just think he's a good chance to tag him early and put him away. I like both Dos Santos and Velasquez though, will be a ripper fight whatever happens. Carwin - his heart is massive, the beating he took overshadowed that fact that he held back that whole fight, what was he doing? Was like a heavywheight version of Penn v Edgar. JDS dominated, Carwin showed heart, decent main event, but was hoping for something more epic. KenFlo, glad he won, I like Kenny but I love Aldo. Aldo will be an animal against KenFlo, as opposed to if he'd have to fight his training partner, so we all win. Well maybe not Kenny, he'll be in a world of pain. Herman v Einimo - Comedy in a cage. Entertaining fight, but it was also hilariously bad. Demian Maia looked real good, spewing he lost. The judges, what a farce. Absolutely hopeless. Umigawa should sue.

There are still 6 fights I'm looking forward to, but it's like new years eve without the fireworks.

Edgar and Maynard both injured. Hamill v Rampage bumped up to main event. Spewin.

129 anyone? What a sick card, apart from GSP failing yet again to finish someone clearly not in his league. Yawn. The Dragon Machida! Holy crane kick sensei! I mean I thought Anderson Silva's front kick was good, that Machida kick was out of a movie. Classic stuff, classy interview too, Randy is a legend and Machida was very respectful. I was disappointed Aldo gassed, but what a fight that was, Aldo is brutal, Homminick and him will have many battles I'm guessing. I wonder if Franky Edgar would drop down to fight Aldo, I can't see anyone else giving Aldo the challenge Homminick did, yet if Aldo didn't gas, it would've been very one sided. What about that haematoma? Massive, looked like the elephant man. Just quietly I wanted to see what would happen if it got split open. Rory McDonald ragdolling the piece of garbage Nate Diaz was beautiful to watch. Complete domination, reckon Rory will be a champion one day. Hope Diaz falls off the face of the planet. Scarecrow Garza's flying triangle was crazy, looked like he was leg kicked back down to earth early on, but pulled out a classic submission. Jason MacDonald's submission was equally impressive. The Janitor's quick KO was nice, he's cool for an old fella. The audible crack when that little bantam weight on the prelims got his nose broken made me cringe. God damn. It was a card that had everything, lived up to the promotion, will be hard to top that one.

MFCSS
Well I believe I actually invented the term, correct me if I'm wrong. It is always being misdiagnosed. It's when we obviously have something good, the MFCSS sufferer will automatically build a defense mechanism for when this good thing is inevitably taken away. Everything at MFC is too good to be true. Eg. Damn Liam Jurrah was exciting in his 3rd game, too bad he'll probably go back to the Northern Territory. The ones that are just constantly negative or bagging us suffer from MFCMCS. MY Club Sucks. And the always positive never critical ones are MFCCLS. But I believe that was cured at about 9 o'clock on Thursday night.

Shields is garbage, he's resilient and somehow pulls out wins. A smaller and far less spectacular version of Stefan Struve (who I love). It has the ingredients of being a boring fight, but for tge first time ever I'll be hoping and cheering for GSP to KO or submit someone. Brutal g'n'p stoppage would be even better. Strikeforce spoiler below Watched the Diaz v Semtex fight, nearly burst a blood vessel. I am/was a big Paul Daley fan, he's lost me. I effin hate Nick Diaz (but by christ he puts on good fights) and wanted him destroyed. Daley is an absolute moron for not taking Diaz's back and choking him to death after he knocked him down into the Islam position. Kept striking instead, so so dumb. I'm still angry about it and I didn't even put money on it. Diaz has the best chin in mma... or no brains, probably both.

I think Fedor has/is/will be retired. However Overeem in the UFC would be awesome. And someone can finally knock out that Nick Diaz c$#%. As for 128, I just hope Cro Cop and Shogun win via KO. Jon Jones should win, but geez I want Shogun to KO him badly.

Thanks mate, the Perosh one is the only fight I haven't seen, so I won't worry about it, thanks for the offer though. Did you chat to Bruce Buffer?

Excellent man! I heard Sots is one of the nicest blokes going round, disappointing to hear that facade is dropped when he loses. As for the fight, I think he did well to fight back and did his reputation no harm in coming back from those knock downs. This loss will help him, change his path and make him work on take downs. Siver is a little powerhouse, but will not cut it amongst the truly elite, Sots out boxed him for most of the last 2 rounds. Siver won though in my view. Bisping is s disgrace, you could see him hesitate for five minutes then throw the knee anyway. Jorge's eyes were glazed over for minutes after, should not have continued. Belfort may murder Bisping. But boy I'd love them to feed Bisping to Anderson... Ebersole may be the most electrifying sportsman on the planet lol. That was hilarious, entertaining as hell and a great fight, want to see more of this guy. Noke just looked insanely good. He might be the one to watch. In the Tucherer fight, after he got cut he said to the ref "something's hanging in my eye" ref says "it's your eyelid". Good god. Cool fight, Hunt could ko anything. I scored the Penn v Fitch fight a draw so I wasn't surprised, Penn first 2, Fitch 10 - 8 third. I thought the judges might give it to Fitch, so I'll take the draw. BJ was one inch away from securing the body triangle, if he did he would've submitted the poor man's GSP. My god Fitch is so boring, his ground and pound is torture to watch. death by 1 million love taps. WTF was that Nick takes it in the Ring decision??? He must've blew the judges, he clearly lost that 30 - 27, that's just BS. Couldn't find the Perosh fight anywhere, was it any good?

Nice tips, I agree with all. BJ maybe rear naked if not KO.

God damn I wish I could go. And Rashad is the man, hope his knee gets better and V Rampage 2 is as good or better than the first time. So did Thiago Silva return positive??

God damn, thought it'd be lights out for Lytle. What's with all the knees? Rua, Rashad, Condit... Damn shame, that could've been fight of the night. Any word on a replacement?

All I could think about watching that video was Sylvio wacking Adrianna. UFC 126 below He is a god, a Jedi, a ninja, a freak. I was worried about this fight, thought Vitor was a big chance, I'm a Vitor fan too, but I just want Anderson's legend to keep growing. And it is. What the hell was that kick?? I felt it in the back of my brain, but wasn't quite sure if I really saw it. Just plain craziness. He credits Steven Segal with teaching him that kick, lol. I'm sure Chri$ Judd is impressed. What next at MW? There's nothing left. Bisping? Give me a break, Jorge Rivera will KHTFO anyway in Sydney. I doubt the UFC would give Jorge a shot, but I'd like to see it. He'd try and KO Silva for sure. Marquart again? Pfft. Anderson said he won't move up or down, he's staying put - So I guess it's on GSP to move up, has he the balls? I doubt it, and frankly think he has too much to lose in doing so. Only a massive pay cheque will make it happen. The rest of card I didn't really enjoy. Torres was too safe and boring, Banuellos even more safe and stupid. Franklin and Forrest failed to deliver as well, I knew it would. Bader was smashed, I was going for Bader but thought Bones would win, not THAT easily! Most exciting part of the card apart from Silva v Vitor was seeing Bones get told he has a title shot. Rocha has the greatest Jiu-Jitsu that goes absolutely nowhere that I've ever seen lol. He's one to watch. Prelims were good, Kingsbury was impressive. Bring on Sydney. BJ Sots Rivera.

I've read Maynard saying he can't hit the notes he used to be able to hit. Also he tries to maintain his voice, this is a big tour with a lot of shows, he won't go on if his voice sucks, so he makes some compromises. I know he's an arty [censored] to some people, but he has a point. It's not like breaking a string or a drumstick if his voice goes. What about Danny's drumming? He's 50 ffs! You won't see better drumming than that. Strikeforce commentating is SO annoying. The whole organisation has a below par feel about it. But I simply fast forward straight to the fights and don't worry about the rest. I've only watched the last 3 events, forced myself to get into it because I'm an mma fan and they have some good fighters over there that I need to watch. Henderson, Fedor, Overeem, Mayhem, Jacare Souza, Semtex Daley... But yeah, turn the volume down for sure.

Like you said in the other thread, setlist wasn't great. Setlist wasn't great but the show was. Sound was insane, the end of Third Eye was just crazy. I loved it, but my 2 complaints are that they played Intention - why? And Maynard not singing the climax of Vicarious, although I get that it's much better for us to sing it than him. Apart from that I had a ball, hadn't seen Third Eye the three times I saw them, so I can now tick that off the list. Just need Pushit next time.... Playing Orion during Lateralus was awesome, then leading into the drum-off, that was the highlight. Oh and You Lied, can't believe they played that! I hear you about strikeforce, but the last couple have been pretty good. I know they make mismatched fights a lot, but there's been some killer KO's and subs lately, and some excellent fights. They do have some talent over there now. That Nick Diaz a-hole is an animal, man can he fight, but my god is he easy to hate. Also they've got a heavyweight tournament coming up on the 12th (I think) which is a must watch for any mma fan. Fedor, Overeem, Arlofski, Werdum to name a few. I'll go for Andre Arlofski, money is on Overeem.

I think Sots deserves it too, but I think I'm a little biased, heh. The one problem is Siver is decent, but he's not a huge scalp, it's definitely not a #1 contender bout in the public view (should be Dan Miller). So there'll be arguments against Sots, unless he is spectacular in winning. Having said all that, Dana DOES rate Siver, so it may come down to Dana's view, or him "giving the fans what they want." I want an Aussie world champion! Yeah Yves Edwards is back, looked ok, not like his younger dominating years (looked like a mini me Anderson Silva back then), but he beat that guillotine wielding hillbilly dipshyte Cody McKenzie, and that is awesome.

Silva by arm bar. Toss a coin..... ..Griffin by decision. Bones Jones by T/KO... but I'll put some money on Bader just for the good odds. Gaybe Reudiger is fighting on that card too LOL. Hope he loses by heart attack. Fight for the troops discussion below. Handsome Matt Wiman looked great, good energy, good dominating fight. Matt Mitrione - I can't tell you how much I hated that guy on TUF, but I've taken a real liking to him in his UFC fights, will be interesting to see if he holds up against a better quality opponent. Damn Tim Hague is weird lookin'. Hominick, wow, crisp! Roop ain't easy to fight for most people, but Hominick hardly missed a shot. Will be interesting to see if he can tag Jose Aldo, I doubt it. Gotta get through them leg kicks first... Speaking of leg kicks... Pat Barry... wtf is going on with this guy? I'm a fan, but only just hanging on. Was he actually trying to BE Cro Cop last night? Style was exactly the same, but Cro Cop has killer instinct, as Pat himself found out 7 months ago. Those leg kicks were destroying Beltran, yes Beltran is tough, but Pat just didn't keep the leg kicks up, could've got at least an extra 20 in, actually just another 5 good ones would've finished him off. Instead he was going for the highlight knock out. Just fight man. I fear he'll be another Brandon Vera, when he could be anything. How about that lightweight division? How are all these blokes going to get a title shot? It's that stacked at the moment. Melvin looks unbelievable, reckon he'd beat anyone at the moment, imagine he tagged Frankie? It'd be all over. Sotiropoulos, Guillard, Miller, Pettis just to name a few, good fights coming up to decide who'll get shots, but gee some of them will be unlucky. Maynard is lucky he gets another shot. Yves Edwards!! Where the hell has he been? Can't believe he's still fighting. And thank F... he beat that dirty hill billy. Was a good card.
