Post Match Discussion: JLT #1 vs North Melbourne
Deestroy All replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Watched it again, definitely hit the inside of the post. Also every ball that went Oliver’s way went to his feet or the grass, on another day would’ve had 45 disposals. -
Could always run all day, now he does a bit of everything quite well, I’ve become a big fan. And I love his attitude. Players like him taking the next step is what we need. I thought Billy was going to be the far better player, but ANB has blown past him the last year. I hope Billy takes a few steps forward this year too.

100% looked a goal on TV. And everything on TV is true. -
Are you all serious? have you not seen the end of Kill Bill? That was a 5 point palm exploding heart technique. Jacobs actually died after the next 5 steps. $1500 is a bargain.

The teams they play for? And one is scared of the air.

It was a rhetorical question. I disagree with a lot of what you’ve said. Defenders that read the play as well as him make life hard for the best forwards, so that goes without saying. He snapped a winning goal on his left last year, fair trick that. He just plays better on instinct, when he has time to butcher a kick in play, he does. His dish off handball to Fritsch and similar things he did last year also show he’s more than capable when it hits the ground. And his set shots are sublime, I don’t know how He’s just far more valuable as a forward. No doubt he’ll have to go back at times, but that’s just a valuable asset to have. -

I think when the whole team plays well, as we did on Saturday, the one or few that don’t, stick out like dogs balls, that was Brayshaw unfortunately. I agree he hasn’t found a position, or been given one. I’m not sure what it is either. Maybe that is his position, a utility. We have depth all over the ground so there’s no pressing need for him to lock down a spot. We’ve seen he can do everything, good over head, tackling, can kick on both sides on a good day. I think he just needs a decent block of footy to find his form. Tomald did ok ok when he went into the ruck on Saturday. It’ll definitely be him if Pedo doesn’t play. BTW how was Tomald ever a backman? He’s such a natural forward. -

Don’t think a room is necessary, Moon. Sounds like the streets will do. -

A few years ago at half time I got a coffee, when I usually drink tea. It was insane. I didn’t get to sleep til 9:30 that night! I won’t be doing that again. -

He went in a few times last preseason. The first time he went in the middle got 3 clearances in a row. Also a game against Port he got a couple too. So I’m not sure “hasn’t worked” is correct. -

Very happy with ANB, Harmes, Bugg and Fritzl. Hogan looks fresh, Lever will improve us no end. Gawn’s taps were exquisite. Good hitout overall. -

@Farmer re Lever’s defensive game being “awful.” lol. The wind helping the ball over the back caught him out, sure. How about all the times he played in front and ended up with the ball? Just flukes probably...- 298 replies

I love Salem so much. Just a class above.

He missed targets with time and space, and the targets had time and space, doesn’t look good for the real stuff.

We made it more contested which made it a bit more watchable. There were hardly any tackles at all last night. I suppose that’s a good thing for preseason and minimising injuries.

That servo countertop display isn’t really the trophy, is it? Anyway, we are the best team in the country right now.

He was last year. Even won me over with his 55m bullet goals.

If we beat North let’s all meet in the city and go on a Philadelphia Eagles style rampage.

A couple of rule changes and it could be alright. Play on a bigger oval. Have 18 a side on the field. 4 20 minute quarters with time on. Get rid of super goals, add rucks, tackling and contests.

If you hate tackling and contested marking, this is the sport for you. No wonder Watts was captain.
