With his Confidence up he could be as good as Brereton was, Big call i know but i trully believe it.. He is strong and takes the ball one grab when he marks
-
Play him at CHF or Roaming the forward 50 metre Arc i say and always have. Could be a Great Forward-he is still young.
-
Bailey Knows AAMI Stadium so i will be fascinated to see how we play there

Who would have the Recruiters Job, i mean you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don't-Picking 17 Year olds is like Tattslotto.
James Hird. I rest my case.

Peter Vardy was a beauty in 2002. Thouroughly enjoyed watching him. Knew well where the goals were.

Ah yes, lets win less than 5 games, lose $1-1.5 mill and face the prospect of having no club in 3 years.
Great plan...
I agree. Lets actually try real hard to win. One Pick does not make a club. Judd and Buddy Franklin may get injured this year, changing the make up of the year considerably. Tanking really gets me sick in the Guts. Norm Smith would not codone it at all!!!! WIN

Full marks to the Kangaroos marketing staff.....
Have done extremely well in re-inventing the club!
Sod the Kangaroos they should be in Queensland by now. I Hate 'em!!

Stynes for President.
I attended a recent sportsman night where the speakers were Stynes, Voss, Sheedy and Hird.
The last 3 had nothing to say but football anecdotes. Stynes spoke about his life in Ireland, and I was fortunate to be able to ask a question from the floor about his life AFTER football and what motivated him regarding his youth work.
His answer. which took about 5 minutes, received applause across the room.
As we know, Jim is a class act, and the sooner he is seriously involved in the club the better.
Stynesy is a true class act, you only have to read his book from about 10 years ago, but is he qualified business wise to take on the presidency? Is it the best role for him-time will tell i suspect..

We won 5 games last year so i thort we were not eligable whatever happens-Don't want Cousins at Melbourne to be honest, bad influence

I can't remember.
Know the Long/Simmonds incident pretty well but have no idea what Wallis did (though I believe it involved Green?)
Yes Greeny was in Hospital by i think quarter time with a smashed up voice box. Oh i love the fact that wallis is able to call himself a premiership player. NOT
Similiar to Barry "Thug" Hall

I was just watching the start of AFL teams on fox.
First they were looking at st kildas next 5 games and Shaw said only against melbourne in round 10 is a certainty to win....
Second they were looking at the Rising star nominations for this year and they got to Aussie and Brian Taylor said that he was there on sunday and he basically doesnt rate him at all, he said he has no tricks, no speed or flare, basically he isnt anything special.
I hate this bloke, he always seems to give us crap all the time
Sorry thought i would vent
Danny Hughes certainly Hated Brian Taylor back in the eighties. Those games were legendary!! My Dad and i always said those two should have just been put on the back of a flat bed truck and driven round the 'G on any Queens Birthday Pre-Match!!

Nothing similar on a don's web site?
I wouldn't go anywhere near an Essendon chat site after what Dean Wallis and Michael long did in the 2000 GF. Pure Filth, i will never forget that....

Lol fair enough, I just thought it'd be a rare opportunity to see the best of the best that's all. Oh and I'm also Victorian...
Not a Melbourne Player in sight of the teams-so much for OUR 150 year Celebrations..I shall be going out tomorrow night, sadly have no interest in this game. I Love the Big V but we need to be playing South Aussie or the Sandgropers. That White Jumper for tomorrow night is a disgrace.

For 4 years now I have been going to about 12 games per year with my 2 kids (son 11 and daughter 9), plus a few games without them. From 2004 to 2006 they really wanted to come and we won more often than not.
Last year, however, we left early in the last quarter a few times after a big effort on my part to stay that long - putting up with "can we go" for the previous hour.
This year, my daughter has said that she barracks for the doggies (like 75% of the kids at her school) and my son has been complaining about how awful it is for him being a Melbourne supporter. When they received their MFC kids membership packs, my daughter wasn't even interested in opening hers and my son was so disappointed that he threatened to abandon the MFC and barrack for somebody else. Fortunately he hasn't changed yet.
Anyway, this week they were quite keen (because of the free flag and the kick after the game) and they both donned their Melbourne jumpers and off we went. My daughter lost interest and started the "Melbourne sucks" and "can we go" routine about half way through the second quarter. I told her that if she was quiet we could go at 3/4 time.
Well, by 3/4 time there was no mention of going home early, and in the last quarter, they were yelling wildly, waving their new flags and joining gleefully in the chants after our many goals. We also tried to join in the kick to kick after the game (more like "I can't find our footy") and we all really enjoyed it.
My daughter kept her MFC jumper on all night and went proudly to school on Monday once again a Demons supporter.
What a difference a win makes.
Also, great thinking by the club to hand out those flags outside the ground and for organising the kick on the ground after the game - as a result they might have retained two young demons.
I hope these threads are being red by the Club Marketing People-The more kids who are signed up as Members the better this club will thrive..
And if the Kick to Kick idea was from our Brand new CEO well he is already doing a top job
-
Rocknroll & why you little: you both add to the pride I have felt this week for our club & our supporters. We may not have the numbers & our "facilities" may have had chris judd turning his nose up but I reckon our long tradition can't be beaten, even if the AFL loathes us.
Dreamin Man I notice you are from Fremantle-I hope you have been walking about the streets this week with pride....

If he gets them for the any of the first six rounds...you are on.
No I am talking about throughout his entire carreer, as i believed in his magic from round 3 at the cattery!!!

The club should put this dinner on for free considering the amount of people who have laughed at me for barracking for melbourne all my life! From my days at school in the seventies right up to last week!! $500 you must be joking!!
-
Ha Just visited DockerLand Wow that was Humorous!! That club will go nowhere. Nobody is irate at what happened on the weekend. Death is too good for them....

Please stop Talking about this Game..It still makes me Sick to the Bone to be reminded of it. I was there at the big scoreboard end. I saw it all and certainly do not wish to be reminded of it. Seeing R Flower in the Goal square with a busted Collar Bone. Michael Tuck had his arm around him as Buckenarra Kicked.
Bring me a mercendol and a red wine Please!

I would still Have to Barrack For the Zebras though-Grew up in sandy and sppent many a sunday at the Beach oval. The Zebs like the Demons are in my blood

If Neitz was to replace Aussie it would be a disgrace. This is the exact problem we have as a club. There are too many selfish players at the club, someone must put there egos aside and retire gracefully for the club to go forward. I would expect Yze to be as selfish as ever but I would be disappointed if Neitz was to go for one last shot of glory ahead of developing kids. How can the club talk about fast tracking kids and then do this? Keep Aussie in the seniors. The last thing we need is a repeat of last year having farewell games for club favorites costing us draft picks. Carlton didn't have one for Kouta and Lappin and now they have Judd and Kruezer. We played Pickett, Brown and Bizzell and won and got nothing. Time for Melbourne to start thinking with their head and not their heart.
CORRECT-Lap of Honour on Q Birthday is perfect

Best game Jamar (and Miller) have played for the club. May it Continue. As Jack Dyer used to say "Big men Don't get any smaller in the second half, when the little guys get tired"

I am Going to have a Bet on The Demons to win. The team must learn to play 4 q's of hard footy-there's no other choice.
