I love that bloke. My heart is beating true.
As an aside, Adem’s niece used to work at the firm where I work (a few years ago now). She was a first class person - very well regarded, both professionally and personally.
She was a passionate Demons’ supporter and she said that her entire family was too - they all loved Uncle Adem.
It’s brilliant he’s back at the club.
I’ve got a good feeling about next year.

Oscar's not in our best 22, but he has been a loyal MFC player and (in my observation, at least) is a quality person.
In this context, it's not without a touch of irony that one reads some of the slander here about him, given that:
- he is apparently one of the more intellectually gifted players in the AFL; and
- outside of football, he has done very well academically and has excellent career prospects.
He just also so happened to play 80 plus games for the Melbourne Football Club.
That, to me, is a successful person every day of the week. He ought feel very proud of himself, as I'm sure his family does.
Good luck to the bloke.

Even though the last two years have been pretty concerning, I haven’t written TMac off yet.
CHB looks to be the most obvious position for him. He simply must regain some agility though - his turning circle this year seemed to resemble that of the Bismarck on or about 26 May 1941. And that isn’t exactly what we need in a KPP.

Remind me again. Why were the club trying to push Mahoney out the door? I'm not sure how he goes the other 51 weeks of the year but his work during trade week has been faultless.
Yep, makes no sense.
We seem to be a millennium in front of the other clubs when it comes to trading (upgrading) draft picks.
Thanks Josh - I, for one, am very impressed with your great work.
And go Benny Brown - I’m bloody pumped you’re a Dee.

Must be awesome to be 200cm tall.
I was playing a game of AFL 9’s in Sydney a few years ago (with my mates - pretty low level stuff).
The ball came into the forward line pretty neatly. Arms up. Thought to myself - I’ve got this every day of the week. I’m 188cm. Thinking about the set shot to come.
Then, the ball just completely disappears. Without warning. As though a UFO just vaporised it.
I look around to see Jason Ball smiling with ball in hand. He’s 201cm.
It’s a very unfair advantage.

A bit nervous about this one. surely we just get this deal done asap and move on.
Every time I check into Demonland, I’m expecting to see a thread ‘Welcome to Demonland Ben Brown’, and all I see is yet more pages on this thread.
We’re starting to run out of sand in the hourglass.
That said, Mahoney is proven in this space. I think he knows how to pilot this ship. But I am getting anxious - we really need this bloke next year (and beyond).
I don’t know what I’ll do if we don’t land him.
Well, I do actually - I’ll drink loads of Scotch. At pace. Sans water and ice.

I’m not sure this entirely fair, or accurate.
Paul Roos hardly fits this category and he built a very good team around him during his time at the club.
He was also instrumental in designing the process for selecting the next senior coach (his successor), and then actually selecting that coach (Goodwin).
That said, I’m not yet convinced about Goodwin. I personally find it weird that I still haven’t worked out what I think of him as a coach (i.e. whether I think he’s a good coach or not). Friends who support other clubs ask me what Goodwin’s like as a coach - and my response is typically, “ ... to be honest, I dunno”.
I’m not impressed with aspects I’ve observed about his coaching, such as his game day decisions, his use of players not in the most obvious positions, and his ability (well, failure) to get the list to consistently execute the game plan including fixing the forward line connectivity problems.
Against this, the players seem to rate him, he receives a lot of compliments from former players (eg, Lewis, whose opinion I rate), and it seems the club’s hierarchy also rate him.
There’s no doubt 2021 is a very big season for him though.
I really hope he’s the real deal, but (like many here) I’m still on the fence.

Geelong apparently could’ve had a Guggenheim art gallery, but the Victorian Government wouldn’t agree to give them the requisite tax breaks.
That’s vision and leadership for you.
Bilbao was essentially an irrelevant and soulless industrial port in Spain prior to the Guggenheim setting up there. It’s now the third most visited city in Spain and is internationally relevant and well known.
I have no confidence in any of our leaders. They’re all incredibly basic.

Mahoney has been given a demotion and has applied for a job with another club ✅
TMac clearly close to being traded ✅
OMac obviously going to be traded or delisted ✅
Wait and see what we do with trading to get up the draft ⏸️
Trade period is still going (Saints player) ⏸️
Widely reported Burgess was nearly poached. Crows balked at his enormous contract, Dees have held him to it ✅
It's weird, I've not seen you one single time reply to the massive amount of correct info I've posted.
Perhaps one day when you contribute something other than snarky comments about people on the internet you might just become a useful poster here. Until then tho.... ?
Serious question - is that what you’ve heard?
I rate Mahoney - I’d be disappointed if this is the case.
