47 inside 50s
6 goals
We were actually 4 from 40 before the last 2 junk goals.
I guess there's a bit more to footy than just contested ball and territory hey Simon.
3 years later we are Still working on our method and forward connection. But we now have backs trying to be forwards instead and the same mids that are lacking in kicking skills department. Going well

Goodwin has cooked the team needs to goÂ
That's because he was drafted as and played majority of his footy as a forward. Expecting Petty and Turner to produce at AFL level consistently as forwards when they are key backs is dumb. Can't remember any key backs turning themselves into good forwards. Neitz a big exception but he did play all his junior and early AFL career as a forward.Tmac deserves a mention for his one and a half good seasons as a forward.Petty and Turner just don't lead up to the ball or find space it's never going to work execute against depleted Richmond sides apparently

People think the effort was there?
we played with intense desire for about 7-10 minutes in the 3rd. did you feel it? when the crowd got involved.Â
aside from that we tried a bit. but no where near level needed
Yep I was at the game and know the period you where taking about. I thought there is the intensity we are capable of and we won alot of contested hard balls and gang tackled during that period. As you say lasted a few minutes

Yes, in retrospect Yze may be a huge out, but remember many here lauded McQualter as the second coming of Christ. Â I am not quite sure of his role.
The fact that such a scandal went unreported and unremarked is an indictment on the people that
run ruin the game.ÂSpelling corrected
Hopefully not as the back up sub ðŸ˜
wrong Windsor, Dee
Of course that is what he would have done in his day, before MRP and video reports - an absolute thugÂ
Laurie? Billings? Â Does it make much difference?
Goody is not THE selection panel though I am sure he has a huge say. Â And the Laurie as sub wasn't quite as bad as the Schache sub unused even when Petty (tor was it TMc) was limping throughout the last quarter
Petty is playing because we need a
key big forward and Goody is stubborn simple as thatWord choice correction
Key and Big forward have always meant the same thing in the 40+ years I've been watching.

Can anyone please explain how Petty is playing, please!!!
Collingwood with half a team in will play with heart, something we’ve been severely been lacking & Petty especiallyÂ
Hope Laurie gets a full game, we know what we’ll get with Billings so make him sub, give Bill a go & see what he’s got
Petty is playing because we need a key forward and Goody is stubborn simple as that

Woewoden and thommo very stiff.Â
Laurie for me I just don't get it. Never seen him look like an AFL player but keeps getting the call up. Billings I thought we had seen the last of for a while. Hope I'm wrong but can't see him standing up in front of 80k on the big stage. Howes more mobile than thommo I guess. Not feeling enthused by these changes barring jvr.

Was going to ask this also.
No player has had more impact from defensive actions this season and he was the 4th highest rated player against the Doggies.
T-Mac no for mine. Not enough speed off the mark and has said he doesn't have the strength to push off the injured foot like he once had so back of shoulder spoiling is most likely a place he can no longer go. Unless of course its a stationary pack in our D50 where the bulk aren't flying for the pill. A completely diff scenario to playing on Moore.
Possibly Turner if coach thinks he has the capability? Looked lost against Freo but a defensive task, back of shoulder, on a leaping opponent might be the tonic? Moore will at least take him to the ball quite a bit and he should learn from that and might even rebound at ground level out the back on occasions to punish the other way.
I'd consider Moniz in this week for Chandler to play a defensive mid cooler role on Nick.
I'd normally say Chandler but he hasn't played a defensive cooler role from memory and his knee seems to be a handicap of late. His worst has been horrific.
Bowsa is plausible also. If so i'd still bring Moniz in for Chandler and have him cover off Bowsa's role.
Fritsch did a great job on him in last year's Kings birthday game. He needs a task to keep his mind in the game been way too in and out of games all year

Out
- Hunter, McAdam, TomlinsonÂ
In
- JVR, AMW, Howes (sub)
and players back in their substantive roles: ANB, Kozzy, Petty, Langdon, Salem & Sparrow.
Re: Sparrow he might be out of form but you almost woudn't know based on the the bits and pieces role they have him playing at the moment.
He seems to never be at CBAs or on the ball and never inside F50? WTF have they got him doing? Get him on the pill sweating on the other teams extractors and spending some time forward. He's a good size, decent mark and a long straight kick at goal.
Why is everyone always so quick to drop thommo , been in our best 5-6 players since coming back. You need selection integrity and Petty should be dropped before him

PODCAST: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
in Melbourne Demons
My pet hate is running past for a handball and not knowing where you are going to kick it, only to rush a kick to the opposition. (Rivers is a serial offender). Followed closely by the hot potato handball to a player flat footed in a worse position (clarry I'm looking at you).
