For all those calling to rest Gawn forget it - like literally our most important player. There is time for a rest two weeks in fact once we hit finals.

He can have a week off between our first game and another week off if we win the qualifying final that's plenty of rest!

As far as the team goes they should be going with what works - clearly Grundy doesn't unfortunately but it throws out our whole team when he is in.

Playing Tommo down back does so keep him, a fit T-Mac would be amazing also but not getting my hopes up.

Get Spargo in - i know he is super frustrating but also super important for us to link up.

Need to make sure our pressure rating is right up there - thats what won us 2021 we were miles ahead of the others now its alot more even and others are playing that intense pressure for nearly as long as us.

A lumbering Grundy doesnt help the pressure at all, Petty did and a fit T-Mac could as well but if not him it has to be Smith down there at least he will apply maximum pressure when the ball hits the deck

Tmac dosent have it in him to give any type of pressure once it hits the deck. His body is past that. Was cumbersome at best even in his best years. Had a great tank which helped him get space but always pretty average once it hits the deck

  2. He had some great moments and games but for mine one of the most overrated footballers in the past 20 years.

Was great at hit outs and follow up clearances in his prime but mostly awful around the ground and a terrible mark for his size. The way the commentators used to go on about him probably skews my judgement, but it was unbearable at times.

Agree with all you say 'bin'...but here lies the problem.

I think the umpiring is at it's lowest ebb since I've been watching football, and that's a long time now.

I don't blame the umpires, although I did have a shot at Ray the other night for missing the JVR trip.

You can see the umps don't have any confidence in their own game and that's due to the AFL.

You've got a retired CEO, no football manager and 2 board vacancies.

    Who is running the place?

    It's a total shambles.

I'm sure all the fact finding junkets to study how they do things in the NFL, EPL etc are well on track.

  4. If Hawkeye at the tennis can pinpoint a tennis ball travelling 200km with in millimetres, surley the tech is available. What possible excuse is there not to have it at all the major AFL venues? Can't be $$$ surley

Milk had one mark and no goals.

He was great for one game but this is why he is never a constant in the team. Like last year when he popped up, he kicked three goals in a game and fell completely flat in both finals. Sadly the fwd cupboard is well and truly empty.

    What do we do?

    Is Tommo worth a gamble?

    Got to try something.

It's not Grundy. Not Bbb. Not Schacke, not Tmac and not Melksham.

    At least Jvr is consistent.

We need another tall, can't be a main marking target. I hope tmac gets through tomorrow if put him or brown back in. They know where to lead to and can at least create a contest

Quality game. I think if we're able to get out the back Carlton are vulnerable but aside from that it's going to be about who wins the most contests.

Wouldn't call it quality but we have way more upside than them, we should get it done

Carna Frogs! Cant take any more media hysteria even Comrade Albanese is wearing a Tillie scarf?

I was barracking for the Poms in the Tests too.  You cant say i discriminate.

Cheering against Aussie teams because of the media , ok then.

I find it more enjoyable to cheer for my country than against it

Josh Daicos is the best winger in the AFL. His decision making is elite.

Amazing to think he was thinking of giving it away a few years ago.

Cats are sold and slow and look like they are in for a big fall.

The cats situation is a cautionary tale for all list managers, you have to keep developing and turning your list over. Topping up and holding firm with your vets only works for a little while before it all goes belly up.

Cats list management has been the best in the comp for 15 years

Does anyone think it will take the midfield a while to adjust back to having Clarry in there?

A part of me wishes we played him last week to get back into it, but understand completely why that game was not worth the risk.

I think there will definately be an adjustment. Viney and Gus have stepped up big time and the midfield had been humming. Of course clarry makes us a better team but there is a chance we take a while to click and that subconsciously other players in the midfield may drop off slightly as a result.
