  1. Adrian Anderson "So Brock, did you hear directly from the CEO, President etc. mouth that Melbourne were deliberately losing games all season in a hope to gain high picks in the draft" Brock McLean "Ummmm, errrrrr....ya mum has AIDS"
  2. Exactly what I was thinking Kicked 4 points, all very gettable shots
  3. Trengove is busting his gut, as is Grimes Both ooze leadership and class We could've kept Green as captain for another 12 months So not only are you willing to write off a rookie coach with a diabolic list who are fit enough to play 2 way football, you're also going to write off our 20 year old captain who's just ticked over 50 games
  4. And if we comfortably beat them?
  5. For someone who supposedly supports and loves the clubs, you sure do say a lot of [censored] things about us
  6. I'm not really sure why I bothered responding to that tripe So I presume you'd be happy if we had've kept Bailey, continued to win maybe 8 - 10 games a year? Bailey had 3 years and developed squat. All he did was develop the most inconsistent, soft, front running team I've ever seen From where the players where, to where they need to be, is a monumental change. And you've basically written Neeld and co. off after ONE pre-season There's big changes coming draft / trade / free agency time Neeld's squad is not even close to being assembled
  7. Maric was the toast of the tigers fans during the NAB cup - now they want him to never pull a ruchmond jumper on again Enlighten me....please?
  8. I prefer Like the tigers of old We get bent over stone cold
  9. Chalk and cheese - Green / Davey have been good servants over a long period, but their time is drawing to an end Sylvia has had 7 + years to prove his worth and hasn't done this CONSISTENTLY Petterd has had a hand full of good games out of 50+ Gysberts has played under 20 games and has been stunted by injury Aside from Trengove, you're surprised 3 guys who have been perenially injured haven't stamped their authority? If Tappy, Blease and Gys have great pre-seasons and fizzle in 2013 then the argument has some merit None of these kids has had a full run at preseason yet
  10. But he HAS proven himself capable, and against good opposition
  11. Cloke was pivotal to Collingwood in their premiership year (and in their premiership defence - aware they didn't win but they got close) He's been AA, he's been a B&F winner, he cost them bugger all at pick 39 under the F/S rule If Scully had given us 7 years and helped us to a flag or two - I would've packed his bags and paid for his plane ticket
  12. So his phenominal clearance work against Geelong / Carlton / Collingwood in his 1st 3 games before suffering a season ending back injury was nothing? His good form in 2011 before suffering a late season injury was nothing? With an engine and some size, this kid could be an absolute ripper
  13. Pretty amazing thread so far Had a great debut against the bench mark team of the time - when we were horrible he was the only one who put in Backed it up the next week against a top 8 contender Was on track against Collingwood the next week (eventual premier) before that dog Barham put his knees into his back and put him out for the rest of the year The following year (2011) when we were utterly horrible he put on some very good performances. Tackled relentlessly, gathered clearances, possession counts were good, was good against good and bad opposition (no flat track bullying) Suffers a late season injury, misses the rest of the year. Has an injury interrupted pre season. Neeld says he's fitness is way off par (for someone who is working in the guts as a clearance guy he needs a bigger body, something Bailey clearly didn't see fit to address) Neeld tells him to work on it in the 2, the guy breaks his jaw and misses over a month of footy, comes back and is working his way to the seniors Staggers me the expectation some people have on these kids. Give the Gys a full preseason and put him back in the engine room next to Jones / Viney / Grimes etc. and he'll be fine
  14. Pulse of the maggots more like it
  15. Would be worth it just to see the MCC members faces (preferred coal chamber personally btw)
  16. I despise anything and everything to do with Essendon.....period I'm also not a fan of the trumpeter, and the only song I want played when the players run out is It's A Grand Old Flag....call me a traditionalist EDIT: should not, grand old flag - but not by the trumpeter
  17. Absolutely despise that, with a passion Makes our recent record against them even more satisfying And can't really imagein Devil's Son by Devil Driver going down too well with the MCC :D
  18. Or perhaps Slaughtered? I'm Broken? Hollow? Oh for A New Level and Domination......
  19. Reckon Suicide Note (Pt. 1 and Pt. 2) are more apt
  20. He was universally accepted as a lock for # 1 as he was that good in the juniors, not because opposition clubs / recruiting managers etc. spruiked him on false pretences
  21. Totally improbable and fanciful Nothing you've said there has swayed my vision These kids are regarding as top 3 picks etc. because they dominate junior footy, this doesn't translate often, as the "elite" junior attributes they have are simply average in the big leagues. Scully's elite fitness and running = standard AFL levels of fitness He may've run 17 year olds ragged, but he ain't going to run Dane Swan ragged That, coupled with a poor coach, poor gameplan, it's little wonder these guys didn't develop Put an 18 year old Scully into a 2007 - 2011 team of Geelong, he'll look a damn sight better than an 18 year old Scully at multiple wooden spoon winning Melbourne I know one of Scully's junior coaches. Said to me pre draft, player of a generation, best junior he'd seen come through in blah blah It wasn't just other recruiters talking him up to trick Melbourne into taking him....it was universally accepted he was a lock for # 1
  22. So hang on, let me get this straight the recruiting managers of all teams artifically inflate potential draftees worth, yet Melbourne is the only victim to fall for this Fanciful, just bad recruting / development etc
  23. Agreed His arm was tucked before he left the ground He didn't need to leave the ground as he wasn't contesting for a mark His left arm was half heartedly out (as though he had no intention of actually contesting the ball) The only difference between this and when he hit Riewoldt is that Riewoldt's head was over the ball, but he still collected an unassuming Joseph who had his head turned tracking the ball
  24. Which was proven to be utter rubbish Moloney declaring he wants to stay here
  25. Brent Moloney has declared he wants to stay Won't be traded as he's a Restricted Free Agent
