  1. Agree with most of what you say, but you will have to agree that a poor draw is a factor in making success more difficult. Collingwood's favourable draw each season makes it easier to make the finals. Less travel, more time for preparation and recovery, less dislocation to daily return including work and home life, more normal sleep patterns, home crowd and effect on umpires plus other factors all emenate from the draw. It does have an effect, but as you say we are going to have to force our way out of the situation we are in. Stronger leadership and more mental toughness and a combined team ethos of not accepting defeat and doing anything to win will turn it around. Also a good run with injuries won't hurt either.
  2. And what issue or contribution do you base that view on?
  3. Maybe we should really be concentrating on how we build up attendances to be seen as a power club. I have an idea, what if we "WIN" more often.
  4. I would pose the following question " who of our delistings should we reselect" ? Why is it then that we should pick up every delisting from every other club ? I am amazed how every time a new delisting is named there are those seeking their selection by us. Are we the league dumping ground? I am not suggesting that we won't gamble on a delisted player who we see something in, but lets all show some restraint.
  5. Headland got off because the tribunal found Selwood said the words alleged. So it is OK to belt someone and then again an hour later, in a game, if they say nasty things about your family. Then at the same tribunal in the next case, they found that Selwood did not say those nasty things he was alleged and found to have said. See how simple things are at the AFL.
  6. What if they have done a deal to take Mitch Morton's brother ? Have heard this morning that Morton's family is moving to Melbourne as two brothers are here already.
  7. I have owned up to it. See my earlier post. Thanks for your effort, you certainly put in the kilometres.
  8. Could this happen? Carlton is seriously looking at Cotchin as its pick. Ratten was quoted as saying they are divided 2/2 on Kreuzer/Cotchin. There is the view that some highly regarded junior ruckmen don't make it in the AFL. If Cotchin goes 1 and Morton 2 would the Eagles take Kreuzer or maybe a midfielder like Palmer/Masten who may go straight into the side and replace Cousins/Judd. If this scenario unfolds we will have Kreuzer available at 4. Might be pie in the sky but who knows.
  9. That was my fault. I suggested singing the song. I will just say that the boys really fought it out in very trying conditions and all of Demonland/ology should be proud of them for having a real dip. Well done guys.
  10. Greg Swann is running that club on his own. The board are a rubber stamp. Pratt may now walk away given he set them up with Swann, Ratten, Judd, Kreuzer and a nice donation, which will probably continue.
  11. Thanks Finks. Do you know when some of the detail will be released to the members?
  12. I suppose the fact that I prefaced my comments with "if this is true" mean nothing to you. You are welcome to treat my comments as rubbish, its a free country. I never said Cousins was an addict but again why ruin your attack on me with the truth. I thank you for telling me to take my comments elsewhere, when did you assume ownership of this site. You are obviously baiting me because I showed some concern for Cousins and his family. Well mate I haven't taken the bait. You just keep posting rubbish and attacking people.
  13. Thats the problem, drugs take away the ability to take responsibilty for your actions. Thats what an addict is, a person who can't control him or herself. I hope a lot of kids out there learn from this famous lad and what he has done to himself and his family. He has a mate ( another great Eagle ) who died of an overdose "allegedly" only a week ago.
  14. If this is true and if it is drug related I feel sorry for this boy and fear for his future. It should be a lesson to all young people. Drugs can destroy the career of a brilliant athlete and do so much damage to those who try and use them. I wish him well with his treatment if he continues to get some. His family must be going through hell. Very sad.
  15. Agree. A great talent early. Now 28 after years of being overweight and unfit. His manager said his knee is " bone on bone" and he has obviously as a result been " boned " by the Blues.
  16. Get the feeling because he wouldn't go to Hawthorn in the trade for Sewell, he was on borrowed time. Probably a bad decision By Ferg not to go as he could have probably got a 3 year deal with Hawks.
  17. As I said on my Cotchin thread he will get to us only if Tigers take Morton and Eagles are scared, after Judd situation, in risking another Victorian with their first pick. Given the comments in the paper they have every reason to be concerned as Cotchin could do a Judd after two years.
  18. We haven't got Scott.
  19. Unless he has signed with Tigers will stay a Lion.
  20. CAC told us.
  21. More delistings to come as clubs sort out their lists. Pick 3 in PSD should allow us to snag someone who can get a kick. Saints should have to drop a few as they picked up several trading.
  22. We are probably going to lose Cotchin (and pick 18) because of that Carlton win. Great if he slips down but now looking unlikely. Would have had pick 18 which is only 4 picks lower than what we got for Travis. 2, 14, 18 and 20 has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
  23. Expect several delistings from Saints.
  24. Possibly nowhere.
