  1. Well how about we end the competition at midnight before the day of the draft. Therefore it closes at 12 midnight on the 23rd of November.
  2. You may be right, but lets revisit it at noon on the 24th.
  3. Both ways and if a tie I will have to come up with another CD.
  4. I can see this happening more clearly today than when I started the thread. Pick 1 is a certainty. At Pick 2 Richmond have got Mitch and it just seems like symmetry to take Cale who on his record and personal statistics would be an inarguable selection. Pick 3 allows the WCE to take an All Australian star performer who idolises Woosher and Jacko and wants nothing more than to play for them. He is a local and should not present a Judd problem in a couple of years and performed brilliantly this year. He could be the new Cousins, hopefully without any baggage. He would also eliminate any parent or player grumblings about being drafted to the Eagles. He just seems again a perfect fit in symmetry and an inarguable selection. That would then leave Trent for us. All that being said, Trent could be the worst performer of the four, but only time will tell.
  5. Improvement.
  6. It is probably reconciled by "hope". He was hoping things would improve both on and off the field in the second half of the year.
  7. If Andy at Demonland can provide the answer the next day I will give a CD to the winner. No discussion will be entered into on the winner or the CD.
  8. Yes we do. White is nearing the end. Jamar is not top level. Meesen is untried. Johnson is not a natural ruckman. We will draft another ruckman whether in the main draft or as a rookie.
  9. We should have a competition to see who can guess (closest to) the number of hits Demonland will get on draft day.
  10. Amen !
  11. He is slow and inconsistent as well and has had his fair share of injuries.
  12. It seems to be working for Kevin ( Yes I went to a strip club but I don't remember doing anything ) Rudd.
  13. Certainly agree with those comments.
  14. Or that the Coach just wrote him off.
  15. He is 179 cms.
  16. Well done WJ. Caaarton will surely have a new President after yesterday. The AFL is very good at attacking the small fish, they have a history of it.
  17. AFL season record lists his birthdate as 21/1/1984. Someone has got day and year wrong.
  18. The unfair factor in all of this is that most players will not make it because there is not enough room on their club lists. A player who fails to break into the senior side and stay there, is usually delisted within a few seasons. It is an impossible task for every boy drafted to be successful. It is a numbers game like racehorses. Recruiters need to be cut some slack and not have every unsuccessful pick thrown in their faces.
  19. Got me chuckling as well.
  20. Just as a side issue, don't worry about Southport, they are probably the wealthiest football club in the country. They could buy and sell the Roos 10 times over. What I see is a merger between the two, with Southport becoming the Roos seconds side in the local competition or VFL if that is possible. The Roos would then have access to the Southport pokies and they would be on the way with AFL help, to financial independence. I actually wonder if the current resistance by the Roos Board is just show for their supporters.
  21. Have you given any thought to changing your avatar?
  22. I note the clubs have heavily delisted Rookies this year, more than in the past.
  23. Was done during the season on a long term injury.
  24. Great photos guys, I feel like I was there.
  25. I would look at Sampi, as I would at every possible recruit and then I would probably dismiss him. My reasoning is fairly simple. He walked away from his football career. He was then given the chance, with plenty of prior notice, to undergo a fitness test with the Eagles. He refused to undergo the test yesterday. What does that suggest? To me it suggests that he isn't fit and didn't want to fail the test. Running away from tests is a habit with the Eagles. Leopards rarely change their spots. He had talent but was undisciplined and the latest episode suggests no change. There are other players more desperate to play AFL than him and I would look at them first.
