  1. You are joking I hope. Biff was a great Demon who played full forward and full back and several other positions and always gave 100% for the club and his team mates. He was tough as nails and had many scalps. Many opposition players were plain scared of him. If Biff was playing when Long did the dog act on Simmonds in the 2000 GF Long would have ended up unconscious. He was one of my favourites in an ordinary side. Please don't knock Biff he deserves better.
  2. I am off to see Sandy on Saturday and get away from the thoughts of Coaches and Tankers. Who might I see at the game?
  3. Not so sure about the first part but on the second you are absolutely correct.
  4. Could only see Tigers getting up if Crows roll Pies and Saints lose interest. Tigers could not beat Saints if they are playing for finals. If above happens I will feel sick knowing that tankers will get 1 and 2 in the draft and 1 in PSD. If that happens look for an old man throwing up in the AFL members on ground level near the old coaches box.
  5. Pubs in Carlton are open tomorrow. Its not too late.
  6. Or maybe just a Coach who wants to start a new culture of committment.
  7. Would hardly say Roos was an unknown. I know what you mean he wasn't a senior coach, but he was a champion player of 350 games at two clubs under many great coaches. Obviously I don't know who our next Coach will be, but there is one thing I am confident about, if it is not Sheedy our record membership will drop and our perilous financial position will not improve at least in the short term. Sheedy would attract members and sponsors. The club would gain enormous PR. I know that is not the reason to appoint a Coach but he is the only (multiple) premiership coach in the group and if he failed say after two years he could be replaced and we could be in a strong financial position. If one of the others failed it could be a disaster on and off the field.
  8. Just like Mark Austin for the Blues. Ratten has said he wants to try out everyone on his list to know where they are at. We should do the same: in Weetra, Neville and Garland.
  9. I thought Ferg has been pretty good lately and if Dutchy goes he may need to put on some weight and be the big backman.
  10. Lappin said in his media conference that if it was a final or an important game that he would have played. Ratten then said half grinning, that Whitnall and Scotland would probably miss with injuries, while they were shown at training running freely.
  11. Agree, except with the use of the word " nobody". There are some players above 26 you would sign for 3 years and take the risk. If Neita was 27 would you worry about giving him a 3 year deal? PS. WJ I wonder if your mate has got anything to do with this?
  12. I was also at Brown's first and I think Bizz's, I will check that one and will be there for there last. Well done boys you have had fine footy careers. PS. Think there will be a few more retirements to come.
  13. Love those relatively good sources.
  14. Just thought of another idea to bring some respect and integrity back to this game. The AFL should on a one-off basis offer the winner of this game $500K. That would bring some degree of integrity back to the game.
  15. Just floated on Footy Classified that to stop the crap the Melbourne-Carlton game should be changed to winner gets the picks. It has a lot of merit as it will make the contest fair dinkum and passionate.
  16. Thought I did. Yes. It is too late to promote a rookie.
  17. This thread is sad but true. Both sides supporters are praying for a loss ( and a Richmond win ). With all of the crap flowing about this game and the selections that will occur and the coaching on the day, the AFL will have to seriously look at dumping priority picks. This is an unhealthy situation and makes a mockery of the true sporting contest. Again I repeat, the players on the ground will try, it is the club's officials who will not, both in selection and coaching. My real fear is that Riley might want to win while Ratten clearly does not. This might be the last chance we have to secure an early pick in the national draft and pre season draft plus a bonus pick after round 1 in the national draft. Teams can be rebuilt quickly with this type of advantage. Please Melbourne, please, LOSE.
