  1. What makes you think that? If Black, Butcher or Talia were still there you would take Griffiths over them. I note he is due to undego another shoulder operation and is considered injury prone.
  2. Considering that when nominating you sign a form agreeing to be bound by the draft and the AFL rules, a challenge would be highly unlikely.
  3. Apology.
  4. Sorry, you have lost me. Do you mean you would be happy to take him at 11?
  5. While I am not in the get Ball camp, I agree with your statement. My preference would be for him to be taken by Port at 9 together with another mid possibly leaving us the choice of Butcher, Black or Talia.
  6. Feeling a bit like WJ and I can't wait for it to be over. While I respect Emma and her draft knowledge and admit mine is not much above nil, I can't help but feel that this year her picks won't line up with the actual clubs this year. She has Port taking 2 mids with their fist 2 picks and us 4 mids with with our first 4 picks. I just can't see that happening. She also has Cunnington slipping to 7 and Butcher taken by North whereas I feel they will take a mid, most likely Cunnington. Connolly fanning the Ball discussion is also very interesting as if we take him that changes things as it will if it forces another club to strike early to take him. Anyway it makes for a few days more discussion.
  7. What would make you think that? It couldn't be based on what he has shown us in his 2 years at MFC.
  8. You are clearly sold on Black. I am curious, have you ever seen him play a full game, or are you relying on You Tube highlights and some complimentary newspaper articles? If it is the latter do you think that a well written article could be influencing your opinion. PS. I am not saying Black is not a good player, the truth is I don't know who would be the best key forward tall as I have only seen a few of them and limited exposure at that.
  9. Do you see a 188cm player playing on the same opponents as a 198cm player?
  10. No we are too honest for that. That would be a Collingwood tactic. He won't be training for now with stress fractures.
  11. Reported on another thread he has stress fractures in his foot. Wouldn't be using 34.
  12. That should have him available at 50.
  13. Patrick at 185cms is hardly a tall.
  14. I don't know much about him I must confess, but I will accept our 2nd J.Mac for free in the PSD if that is the way we go. I am concerned though that if we want Thorp we may be out bid in the ND. If he is OK, fitting in and injury free, he gives us another key tall option and I would hope that we don't lose him to an earlier bid. Our earlier picks may end up being compromised if we are thinking we will get him at 50. Anyway we will know soon enough.
  15. Whichever way it goes, we will be able to have a pick of at least one of Black, Butcher or Talia. That will give us a talented tall. At 18 their will still be a lot of talent left and maybe another talented tall or a talented mid has slipped down. We really have the chance to get 4-5 quality players in one hit and set the club up when combined with the existing list. More specifically we have spoken of "sliders" on this board but Black seems to be a "riser."
  16. I feel like an astronaut counting down the minutes. What will my life be like after the ( launch ) draft? Only one PSD pick to think about and that now seems a lock. Could there be a dramatic development and Juice or Meesen are taken in the rookie draft ahead of our picks giving us a rookie selection, unlikely. Oh well I will have to concentrate on training and looking forward to the pre season hoping that no one gets injured. It will be tough without all of the draft discussions. Life will become quite mundane.
  17. Don't want to get picky, but in Victoria at 7.00PM Thursday 19th November the Clock was showing 7 days and 30 minutes to go. Is daylight saving throwing it out?
  18. Yes if they want someone else in the PSD and believe that they still could take him at 50 with their last pick, or alternatively don't want him at all. If he keeps training with us this next week that could be an indication.
  19. Forget the PSD he won't get there. Someone will take him in the ND. Maybe us, maybe not. Some clubs have some very late picks in the ND.
  20. Does this mean we have decided not to take him or do we want to take him late in the ND and take someone else in the PSD? Could McPhee or MacDonald be in the Dees sights?
  21. Just curious but how do you pound a "lifeless" corpse as opposed to another type, into "further" submission. I am just bored and must admit 6.30 pm next thursday can't come soon enough for me.
  22. If he was there at 18 he would be in red and blue next year.
  23. Then he will be in red and blue.
