  1. Was on TAC Cup stars on channel 9 today. Acquitted himself well. Says he is 195 cms and hopefully still growing. They showed a few highlights of him and he is quick, a long kick and can take a big grab. I have seen a lot worse. He could have a lot of upside. He has come from a hard background and could be a tough kid mentally and physically. Football is a way to secure a good future for him and I am sure he would give it his all. All we need to know is if " his all " is good enough.
  2. Me too. I was at a function last night with a lot of Carlstink supporters and watched the last 10 minutes with them. I then started singing the Lions song and was not a popular person I can assure you. However, I loved it.
  3. Sarcasm becomes you. If some get there way on here we will become the rubbish dump of the AFL.
  4. Not having a go at you, but more a generalization. You confused a possible Number 2 pick with someone else. He did nothing in the game. You then say he is not as bad as some people on here have made out. Meanwhile many posters are saying he has to be pick number 2. Oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Me? While it is great for everyone on here to have their opinion on everything, I take the recruiting of players posts very lightly. I think most would agree that that the majority know very little about the potential candidates and act off headlines or the posts of the most vocal. I attended the championship at Etihad this year and last and readily admit that gives me very little to base an opinion on. I don't see the weekly games or speak to the boys. This is all fun guessing who we will take in the draft and trade, but when it is all said and done I have faith in the guys charged with the task of building the list. Our list by the way is in the best condition I can recall in the last 40 years. There is so much talent with more to be added that I can see years of success coming our way. Thankfully, our future off the field is looking healthy as well.
  6. Bailey has said that he only wants skilled players.
  7. Hang around, there will be plenty more rumours to come before trade week ends. Guess what, 99% of them are just that.
  8. You agree with me. IMO his behaviour was disgraceful and if you accept the account in the Hun today he deserved nothing less than an instant fine and a severe warning about any repeat act. His language was clearly audible to those nearby as he was yelling out to Lloyd. Pathetic from a senior coach.
  9. Disagree. He has some value. What would you say if he kicked 5-6 in the final tomorrow for Casey? IMO he still has a small chance to make it in the AFL but next year will be the last one.
  10. Suspended fine, a slap on the wrist with a feather.
  11. Could you be a little more succint next time.
  12. Fantastic. I loved it . He is my favourite Demon. Finally someone to get really excited about in the red and blue again.

    Hawthorn

The club is a strong and powerful club, the current premier, but it had a horrible weekend. I am sure that those rational members of the club would be ashamed of last weekend and accept that it has tarnished Hawthorn in the eyes of the football world. I would imagine that a few members of their Board would be taking steps to ensure no repeat performance. PS. I would cop their membership numbers, financial position and recent premiership.

Must say I started to feel sad as I left the game thinking no more Wheels, Robbo and Wheats. They have been part of our lives for quite a while. They were not only good footballers but nice guys as well and only too happy to have a chat. It is a lesson to all footballers, that your time in the game is short and to give it everything and treat every game as your last, because it could be.
