  1. Do we know if he actually sat on the Tribunal tonight? I would doubt he did being a former teammate of the accused player.
  2. Not funny. You can do better than that.
  3. Well there are probably a few legal ways to protest. What about after every Dees goal we all stand and start chanting Trengove. All Dees supporters stand for the first 5 minutes of each quarter and chant AFL crap. Demonstration outside AFL house. Supporters stand near radio and TV broadcast boxes and scream out Trengove was robbed. Bombard AFL house with emails of protest. Bombard the press with protest emails and tweets. Ring up radio shows and vent. etc.
  4. That is one of my beefs. If you have to contact some one high for it to be high contact then this one is not. If however contact can be high without personal contact, say pushed over and hits head on fence or ground or another players boot, then you are guilty of high contact for a legal push. That can't be right. That means if something is legal and then there is accidental contact with something or someone else you can be found guilty, that is a nonsense. That is like saying you bump into someone accidentally in the street and they fall over and therefore you are guilty of assault if they are hurt, but not guilty if they are not as it was an accident. This was not a spear tackle, nor the pinning of both arms and then driving a player head first into the ground. This was one arm held and a grab around the waist and then swinging the player around and down to the ground. In the words of Robert Walls it was a "perfect tackle". This must be challenged.
  5. With 14.05 minutes to go in the 1st quarter of tonights game Kade Simpson did exactly the same thing to David Armitage. Not as bad result for Armitage. Lets see if Simpson gets cited and gets at least a week. We will see the inconsistency here.
  6. Sincerest condolences to the whole Connolly family.
  7. He may be technically guilty but the penalty seems high when compared to say Tambling's deliberate elbow to the side of the face for 1 week and Brown's elbow to the face 2 weeks and Kennedy breaking Sylvia's jaw for no weeks. This was a tackle, to the body not to the head, nor a strike by fist or elbow. I would show film of the others mentioned and many more examples and then call an expert to show that his head was hurt only when falling to the ground as a result of a fair tackle. I would also challenge it if it could be shown that he was only charged after the medical report. In other words no head high contact but head hurt in tackle and therefore he is charged. It is either illegal or not and as they have often said, as in Sylvia's case, the result doesn't make something illegal.

    Addam Maric

    Yes he was.
  9. Are we sacking Bailey this week?
  10. That's why I have been banging on about us failing to have Leigh Brown type.
  11. Moloney has had a good season so far and Rivers has been ok. The other two pathetic.
  12. On a dry day and if Jamar went down it would be a disaster. However rain is tipped and if it is wet and Jamar is ok then Dunn will offer some more options than Martin.
  13. Blues fans have knocked Ratts for a couple of years and can't wait to get rid of him. I asked a few who want him gone what would they do if they made the GF or even Prelim this year and they changed and said oh well we suppose he should stay. So that means to them a good coach is one who makes the Prelim. Should Eade be sacked after several Prelims as Dogs haven't made the GF under him or are they reaching to where they deserve to get to. How many Dees fans who want Bailey gone would change their minds if we made the 8 this year and maybe even won a final? Daniher made finals one year and missed the next and most were happy with him as Coach for quite a while. I would hate to be an AFL Coach as there is a sense of failure at just about everything short of a GF appearance. Most of us were happy with Bailey last year but it has swung against him badly this year. Wonder if the mood would change if we string a few wins together. PS. I think we are being poorly coached and developed at the moment.
  14. Agree.
  15. That was a year and a half ago. Light bulb should be getting warm after 18 months. PS. Carlton, Collingwood, St.Kilda, Hawthorn all flicked the switch.
  16. Good post. I agree with most of that. Just a few comments. Jamar while great around the ground is actually not getting his hitouts to our players, unlike last year. The ball either goes to a contest or the other side. That is hurting us at stoppages, look what Cox did last night. Chip had his worst game for the club. Green and Davey are non existent and Davey looks embarrasingly scared on the ground. Aussie, Gysberts, Morton and a few others also had absolute shockers. When we got the ball there was no one forward to kick it to and for that the Coaching panel must take the blame. What also worries me is that our skills appear to have regressed badly. When we have the ball and even without pressure we kick it out of bounds or to the opposition and create their goals. Last night 8.7 or 55 points of the Eagles first 64 points came from our turnovers. I have never seen such a stat before, let alone 3 inside 50's to their 22 for the 1st quarter. Our tackling or lack of it and the ineffectiveness of attempts was sub standard, though you would argue young bodies, but we also have senior bodies and their youngsters were tackling us effectively. Our game plan is just plain pathetic and with all of the other problems this kills everything. A hard big body is so badly needed up forward that I am looking at Juice as the temporary solution. I think our supporters are now clearly getting the message, we are not that good. Pity is that other teams who seemed the same are getting better quickly and going past us without much change in playing personnel.
  17. Bruce is currently the Hawks worst player and will end up playing the year out at Box Hill. His saved salary will help us keep players like Scully. Move on, Bruce is not the reason we lost nor is losing a 35 year old Junior.
  18. I am going to cop it here but I think that Jamar is not hitting the ball to our players. He tends to just drop it down and it is either a contest or an opposition ball. He is playing well around the ground but I feel his ruckwork is not a patch on last year.
  19. Got me with him, though to the other poster, Shaun Grigg was traded for Collins. Perhaps i should have added the word "star" before players. I don't think they will let any star player they want to keep go to another club.
  20. Carlton don't lose players they want to retain.
  21. Maybe my grade/mark will improve after standardisation.
  22. No, I don't believe that the Coach or Administration wanted to win but clearly the players did as players always do. I am just sick of "tanking" talk when every Coach and Administration has done the same in the past to get the best draft picks. The Pies won a flag with their early picks like Thomas and Pendlebury and no one seems to bring up their "tanking" at every opportunity. I think most Pies fans are happy with the result as are Blues fans with Murphy, Kreuzer, Gibbs etc. Also the Tigers game gets brought up all the time, yet we were [censored] all year and we were leading at the final siren, what more could be expected. People and especially the media need to get over it or lobby the AFL to change the system. I am just fed up with all the talk about it. Lastly thanks for the compliment of me being reasonably intelligent, though some people have suggested I am even more than reasonably intelligent and in fact just plain intelligent, but I accept your grading of me based solely on Demonland posting.
