  1. On a lighter note, wonderful news at McDonalds, the arrival of the BANANABERRY smoothie at $2.95. Is there a Maccas on my way home?
  2. Or more time to post on Demonland before the actual announcement of who is in and out.
  3. How funny would it be if the best 2 players ended up being the 2 they didn't take. Unlikely but maybe the best 2 after the first 5 picks are discounted would be a possibility.
  4. This is not mooted as a match day facility at AFL standard, but rather a training complex with all facilites needed under one roof, eg, Gym, Pool, Offices, Medical, adjacent oval AFL size, function room, shops etc.
  5. It is not just the 7th of December, it is also less than 6 days to the Rookie Draft, an event that may one day rival the Brownlow Medal count. Note I didn't say the Medal but rather the actual count.
  6. One week to go. Will we draft outside those training with us? All will be answered in a week.
  7. I thought Evans first game, which I saw on replay, as I was away, was fantastic. He found a lot of the footy and for an inexperienced kid, without a full pre season and not much footy the year before, I thought that game showed his talent. Obviously they all can't make it but I am happy to follow his progress this year.
  8. Not that there is anything funny in the incident, but you have to laugh at Lloyd, who runs in from behind, attacks the Ox and then backs off, as he turns around and is [censored] himself as he looks around to see if anyone is after him. Great player but became a bit of a sniper who didn't like it face to face.
  9. I have made a habit of picking one player each year that I see as a big improver. Have got it right most times with the odd failure. This year I am going to stick my neck out and go with a rookie Michael Evans. I also have high hopes, unlike others, for a big improvement in Jack Fitzpatrick.
  10. Can't imagine Sheedy going beyond one year as Coach at GWS. They seem light on for Coaches and training grounds. While they wanted a lot of publicity which they got, most of it is bad. Not sure this is the way the AFL saw the club starting.
  11. Obviously need some brand awareness and advertising (sponsorship) to get the message out there.
  12. 8 days. Can imagine the frenzied activity on here discussing who we got and who we missed and then quiet, as we go into the Xmas slow down.
  13. Good post, I have got the book and have it on my read over the holidays list. A truly remarkable story.
  14. And there is the answer. As I said the best we could get IMO is a smaller sponsorship from them to promote the brand down south.
  15. Went for a walk wearing a MFC cap and 3 people asked me how we would go next year. Then discussed the list. Seems to be more Dees fans around now, than a few years ago.
  16. BoQ I don't think can be our major sponsor as it would upset too many Queenslanders if they were sponsoring Melbourne rather than Lions or GC. I could see them being a minor sponsor. Bad luck I think that one of our Directors is the boss of an interstate named and based bank. I know they have branches here but most are in Queensland. Stuart may even resign from our Board if he is now based in Queensland. Don't think I am misreading this, but maybe I am.
  17. I was sitting very close to the Simmonds/Long incident and completely lost it. I was frothing at the mouth and was furious that no one bar the Ox came in to do anything. Ox as he will admit was pretty hopeless at squaring up. I was screaming for someone to knock Long out and of course nothing happened. I know I lost it but it was just a disgraceful incident by Long and I have never looked at him in the same way since. Oh how I wish Big Carl was on the field for us that day. Long would have been carried off like Simmonds. Thank God Simmonds was ok, he was unbelievably lucky.
  18. Lawrence and Spencer still unproved. So glad you mentioned Troy Broadbridge. We should all not forget him as sometimes happens with busy lives. He was a lovely bloke and taken much too early. He was also a pretty handy footballer and popular clubman and no doubt would have played a lot more footy for us. He is sadly missed by all his family and friends and Dees supporters.
  19. I will give you the answers to your questions the club will give, "we are looking forward not backward".
  20. Yes it has. Yes also to Jordie. He did win an award and knocked back the Crows.
  21. Couldn't agree more on Jordie. A top kid and one of my favourites. goes hard and never stops. Met him with you at a function and ever since, even after training he will come over and say hi.
  22. Great effort to analyze it to that degree.
