It seems to me that the reality is that players leave clubs for a multitude of reasons and some will succeed at their new clubs and some won't. Just because someone we give away does well elsewhere doesn't mean we made a mistake and likewise nor does it mean that someone who comes to us and does well, doesn't mean the original club made a mistake. It is now just the nature of AFL football that more players will change clubs.

If we really want Hannath we should let him know and he can sign a 1 year contract with Feo and ask to be traded or walk at the end of next year. It does sound as if Freo didn't even bother talking to him. If true, that is pretty poor behaviour and in fact may be revenge for Clark.

I wrote to Emma and she has replied that even she is amazed at the preparation that is now going into training. She said that it is now understandable given the effort required to succeed, why some players with talent but without the necessary dedication are failing and being moved on by their clubs. She wrote a lengthy reply and I appreciate it.

Me too. Some great games and then gone missing.

Just reading the B & F results in the club magazine and noted that only 1 player in the top 20 is no longer at the Dees, Jared Rivers. In the next 18 places, 10 players for various reasons are gone, including Beamer, Bate, Green , Bartram, Morton, Martin, Bennell, Petterd, Jurrah and Gysberts. Then you can add Cook, Lawrence, Sheahan and Williams who did not play seniors. It has been said on here a few times that the players who have departed did not have great contributions in 2012 and that their loss, if anything, will be neglible going forward. Not seeking to denigrate anyone but purely as a statistic of output there is a factual basis for the comment. That of course is what you hope happens each year, that the ones you lose are the ones with the least impact on the team. It is just interesting of course, since the Coaches give the votes, that the B & F is such a good barometer of who will remain the next year.

Sensational. We have come such a long way. I was actually blown away by the preparation of the various activities and the then the review of them. I had no idea. I was team manager of the senior side in 1979. In those days it was a run in the pre season and some drills. Then some match practice. Then maybe a smoke or a burger with the lot and fries plus maybe a thick shake. This is light years away from that. I enjoyed some of the minor things in the photos. I liked seeing the healthy lunch provided to the boys. I also noticed a photo where Watts had his arm around Neeld. That to me signals a new relationship between the players and the Coach. It is clear from that article that no stone is being left unturned in order for us to succeed. I feel proud to be a member of this club and I know success will come. Go Dees. BTW, CW, you can get stuffed, with all your negativity towards us. PS . I am going to email Emma on a great football article.

Last draft for this year, is tuesday and I can't believe I am saying this, but I really have very little interest. 2 Rookie picks and we are done. Can't even be bothered with the countdown clock. I think I have become over cooked with all the speculation regarding JV, Toumpas/Wines, Hogan/Martin, Dawes, Pedersen etc. I am however looking forward to actual football where I can go and support and hope for wins. That is the real down side of, I can't bring myself to say it , t-nking.

Could someone please ring KB's show on SEN and accuse KB of hating CS. It is clear he does. CS sacked him as Coach at Tigerland. Ask him is it true that he has not spoken to him since. Ask him does he feel conflicted when he gets Denham to attack the Dees all the time? Ask him why does Wilson also hate CS. Ask him if he feels she is conflicted for attacking us all the time. Ask him if you get through, why he won't answer the questions, as I am sure he won't.
