  1. After 4 and JV we will have 3 spots left. I would imagine we will take 2 delisted players and 1 PSD, or an extra pick in the ND and 1 delisted and 1 PSD.
  2. Bennell played nearly 15 games a year and but for injury more. Petterd had his moments. Jurrah certainly had AFL talent.
  3. It's the hidden payments, that are the big issue.
  4. And we say goodbye to 5 more players from the senior list.
  5. Maybe Tippett, should just claim that he was only going up to Sydney to have a look around.
  6. In today's Sun it says that Morton's relationship with Neeld was beyond repair and that, of course, WC really rated Morton and that he was a real chance for their starting 22 next year. Now I understand that we were getting rid of players and that those players were not going to get us picks that we would use. Therefore we obviously made the decision to do the deal whatever we were offered. However to trade Morton for the lowest trade pick in the whole period and then be forced to pay part of his salary as well is just plain insulting. At the very least, if we aren't capable of doing a deal with WC, then offer Morton a delist and contract termination and he could have gone to WC in ND or PSD for nothing. That is better for us than paying some of his salary. He would have taken the deal as he was desperate to get away from Neeld. Likewise on the Gys deal we caved and upgraded picks for North as well, instead of for us, which might have got us Ray. Harrington said we were very close on Ray. Perhaps a better deal of an unpgrade for us would have got us Ray. I personally don't understand how Gys is not worth a fair bit more than Pedersen. Who is younger and has more upside and future at this point in time? Until someone shows me why my view is wrong, I believe we are poor at negotiating. From what I have seen we have basically given what was asked of us on every single deal and trade including Hogan. GC got their Martin with pick 2 and we gave 3 & 13 with 20 back for Hogan. I am not upset about how it worked out but am just making the point. I also know that Viney was in there but so what, we wanted Viney at 26 and they wanted 3. Even with Dawes we gave 20 and then downgraded picks which again could have cost us Ray or another player. I don't think that we have demonstrated an ability to do deals to our advantage.
  7. "Every recruiter in the country expects me to take xxxxxxxx but I'll show them, I am going to take zzzzzzzzzzz What's that you say, he isn't even in the draft."
  8. Hope the AFL absolutely slams Lynch and Blucher.
  9. So you need to win him over and get him to agree to only nominate for the PSD. We are first Vic club and take him.

    Farren Ray

I wonder if we were serious. Reported as no MFC contact with Saints in last couple of weeks. Maybe they smell a chance of Jacobs in the PSD.
  11. Unless we have done our numbers and we are only using pick 4 and JV pick. If that is the case then anything above them was always going to be useless. If we decided we couldn't trade to get better than 27, then it doesn't matter if we had decided to get rid of the boys we traded, come what may. I agree on face value some of the deals look awful for us, but on further examination if that was our position then maybe they are not that bad. I can see us maybe looking at 1 in the PSD and maybe a delisted FA, then closing up shop.
  12. Not if he re signs with them.

    Josh Toy

Think I would be happy if we got him even if he couldn't play. Just make today a bit better. If he was ok, he could be a steal.

Would it be worth taking a punt on Toy and offering all of our late picks to GC for him. He looks like he may go for free otherwise. GC could then give the picks out to people on Surfers Paradise beach.
  15. I have no issue in trading Gys, though I was happy to keep him and see if we could develop him. So for all those who said he wasn't a bad pick, but rather needed development, the FD disagree with you. They say he was a bad selection, because they can't develop him. I remember on the day he was drafted being told by a MFC official that we would pass on Daniel Talia and take Gys. WJ who was with me at the time nearly fainted. I was lost for words. As it turns out we have passed on an AA CHB and got rid of the bloke we took instead 3 years later. Well done BP you bloody genius. Then its repeated with Cook. BP was another Szondy as far as I am concerned. There, I got that off my chest. My real beef is that we are getting done over on our trades. Not only have we done a swap of players but also a swap of picks where we have gone back about 11 places. Now before you say we wouldn't even use those picks, why didn't we get a pick we could use say on Ray. We have valued Gys at less than Pedersen. I think that is a joke. We seem and I stress, from the outside looking in, to be getting bent over on our trades. Could someone explain to me why I am wrong in this perception.
  16. Papers talking about a straight swap of players. Gys for Pedersen. If we do that we have been royally screwed.
  17. I bought some quick picks for the superdraw next Tuesday. I have more chance of winning than we have of getting 15.
  18. Agree. This is far, far worse than experimenting with player's positions on the field.
  19. Agree. I am also told he is not a nice guy.
  20. We have had a huge win today. The club will be guaranteed representation on the next few GF editions of the Footy Show, courtesy of our new dancer.
