  1. Sounds like a very good idea.
  2. I believe there are some banana chips on special at the supermarket .
  3. Any of you guys love guitar? You tube Santana - Jungle Strut and Gary Moore - Still Got the Blues for You.
  4. I don't understand why it wouldn't cost other clubs much, when the best player or two is removed from the next year's draft.
  5. It is starting to look like we are facing an orchestrated opposition by the other clubs to stop us getting a PP pick. If the AFL agrees I hope we go as hard as hell for a couple of mini draft picks that we have to trade away. That could be better than a PP anyway. We would get more than one player for a start.
  6. I can't stand to look at Rudd. He is a truly despicable piece of work. I would love to see him lose his seat. Funny, so many of his colleagues think the same as me. Mark Latham, who is also an interesting character, said that "the only people who like Rudd, are those who haven't met him." Anyway, back to the footy and bananas.
  7. Julia Gillard could be available for a job with the MFC in a few minutes.
  8. By the way who asked you to be Coach anyway Matthew?
  9. I think she will go next.
  10. There is no doubt absolutely none that the drug was declared illegal in 2010 or 2011. What I think they will base their defence on is not that the drug wasn't declared illegal, but rather that we can't be certain that is the drug they were given. In other words they admit they were going to use it, but they can't be sure that is what they got. I can't see that getting up. As far as the AFL is concerned the club will be slammed and the players will escape penalty. That is different to ASADA who will seek to ban any users, no matter what they thought of its illegality.
  11. Congrats to WJ and family on new grandson via daughter Emily. Demons membership surges by one more.
  12. What about Barassi or Hafey?
  13. They will not get off. We now have an admission from the captian that they took an illegal drug, thinking it was legal. That is no defence to ASADA. Further the AFL will be fuurious, as I have said before, that they gave drugs to kids and can't tell them even today what they took and what are the side effects. This is a disgusting event that makes any other issue in the AFL seem like nothing.
  14. If we are/were a rabble, what are Essendon? This the biggest scandal ever in the AFL.
  15. I'll supply the pi-s. That's not pies. It is the slang for urine.
  16. I actually started the thread over my anger at a lie, that keeps getting perpetuated in the media. It was not intended to dredge up the whole merger debate, as that is dead and buried.
  17. I find it amusing how we throw names up for positions, without in the main ever having met the person we name, knowing anything about his ability to do the job, work to a plan, interact with people etc. Having said that, I think WJ would be a very good GM of football, but I believe he is unavailable.
  18. As most of us clearly don't know exactly what our List Manager's job description was , we should be careful in criticising. We have someone on here who knows better than most what that was and if he chooses to post we might all have a better understanding of the role. I understand if he chooses not to. For what it is worth I am sorry for Tim that he now needs to find another job and from the little I know, I think he was pretty good at his job. Hopefully he will find another soon. We need to remember that for every person that leaves our club or any club for that matter, they have concerns for their family and themselves as to their futures. It is understandable why delisted footballers, can develop depression etc as a result of suddnely being unemployed, as with other members of the community in the same position. We and I include myself, can be a bit glib over simply getting rid of someone, but there is always a human side to the issue. As far as the List Manager position at the MFC goes, I anticipate PJ sees it being merged with another role.
  19. He then does his son's contract?
  20. Yes he has.
  21. That is an interesting thought, as OTC tonight he was definite we should get a PP, while Sheahan said no.
  22. Saw film of Crowley barrelling into Boomer and sending him sprawling before the game started. Umpire right there tell Crowley to calm down and no free kick. Commentators furious as no free kick paid. Then I contrast that with the soft bump on Jones of the Saints, by Dunn, when Garland is about to kick out and reversal and Nick gets a free from 10 metres out. That is just so inconsistent. Amazing how weak sides cop that so often. There were four pathetic free goals given to the Saints, all controversial, yet not one to us. Funny that.
