Surely the needs of Casey for an Assistant Playing Coach can't be ignored. They need a nice guy from a top club and a premiership wouldn't hurt the CV. With that in mind I urge the club to make the big sacrifice and release Byrnes to Casey and of course pay out his contract to further assist Casey and strengthen the relationship. His experience would be a major asset to Casey. That of course would also free up a spot on our list.

Well you can always complain if you have good reason to. Don' t know if it really helps in the AFL though.We really do have some upside though with new players coming through and young guys into their second season and of course Roos.

IF we get the player we really wanted at 2 with 9 and IF he becomes a good player for us and IF Tyson also becomes a good player for us we will have done extremely well in our trade of 2. This trade could then be an important link in our resurgence.

No doubt our list will have a different look and feel to it in 2014 and again in 2015 under Roos.The way it is going he will have turned over half the list in 2 years. I think the Tigers did similar under Dimma.

Clearly if Roos is serious about improving the side the list had to be turned over. The limiting factors appear to be our bottom of the heap attractiveness to players, a so called weak draft this year, players contracted beyond this year, a need to maintain some semblance of structure for next year and I would imagine Roos unfamiliarity with many of the club's players. I actually would be interested to see who has made the call on some of the players like Taggert. Clearly Roos would never have seen him play and would know little about him. That means that while Roos has agreed with delisting it was probably not his call. I am imagining that Viney and Rawlings and to a smaller degree Mahoney have made several of the delisting assessments. I could still see another delisting or retirement coming even of a contracted player. Hopefully we can position ourselves with a decent player in the PSD as it appears that GWS has their pick lined up and that makes us the first live pick. That is a good opportunity to get a decent player who may be unhappy with what his current club offers.

Why? If he decides to retire after one year what would you say then? If we get 3 years out of him that would be a maximum of 60 games. How many games would you hope to get out of a pick 22, I would suggest a lot more. Add Hogan and only need to draft one player or upgrade one more.
