  1. My point is that no club has had to deal with the multitude of issues that we have had to deal with, all while we were pathetic on field. Yes some are our own fault and others are not. Essendon's was also of their own making. However most people just want on field success and Essendon has a good list and is enjoying on field success, whereas our list is much poorer and our issues much wider and more of them, all the while our on field performance was poor. Essendon has probably brought more harm to the game by its actions than any club before, all the while still winning games and giving their supporters something to support, while we have been crap through a combination of reasons, probably most importantly poor drafting and list decisions.
  2. This is the Bombers nightmare but it is one event , they already have a good list in place. This will hurt them but it is one event. Ours have been several a year for years. We lost a great kid in a Tsunami. We lost club greats in their forties in the same year. A Director in the same period. Then lesser events like players being taken from us by the AFL , tanking issues, money issues, coaching issues, recruiting issues, development issues, drug issues, racism issues, injury issues, need I go on. No club has had to deal with the issues this club has had to face over the last 7 or so years.
  3. That's what I meant. We copped it again.
  4. First let me say I wish Mitch all the best. If Mitch does retire that will be yet another first round pick lost in the last few years. Cook, Morton, Gysberts, that bloke at GWS, Sylvia, McLean, Moloney and Clark ( pick 12 traded ) will have all gone in the last couple of years. There are probably a few more I have missed and Chip could add to that list. Has any other club in the history of the game, since drafting began, lost so many first round picks in such a short time? No wonder we are struggling.
  5. And what was the square up, for us being the only team investigated for tanking?
  6. I agree that a PP won't solve all problems and maybe multiple PP's won't either, but we need them desperately as part of everything needed to mount a recovery. Good luck with recruiting, development and injuries are also part of the requirement.
  7. Everything you say is why we need not 1 PP but many. This is about money to the game, the only thing we can hang our hat on.
  8. Then they are idiots and blind to our situation.
  9. Well then he should be kept on our list to be traded. They would probably screw us over that as well and get him for nothing in the draft.
  10. Except that he appears to be quoting his Manager.
  11. What more misery can this club cop, now it looks like Clark will retire. I would be off the AFL demanding multiple PP's if they want us to not stuff up their next broadcast rights deal and attendances, not to mention inbalance to the ladder. Now is the time to get aggressive with the AFL and get a committment.
  12. In one week against a very good side at full strength, while we were forwardless and had more of the ball, under a new game plan.Interesting conclusion.
  13. My mate who has seen a lot of the TAC cup games says that Salem will be a gem and that he would have done a Salem and Tyson for Kelly deal in a heartbeat. We will see. Pretty happy with Tyson so far. Chris Dawes told me on wednesday that Salem's kicking is elite.
  14. Agree. This really upset me last week. I thought he was great against the Saints and maybe Roos and the new role would see him blossom. Against the Eagles his effort was nothing short of pathetic. He stood out of the play. Only half contested when it was near him. Didn't chase, or put pressure on and looked like he didn't give a stuff. A repeat of last week would see him dropped.
  15. No he got a virus, I think called Norse Virus, which induces seizures like bad epilepsy. Tragic news.
  16. Not if they run away from him with the ball.
  17. Despite the rap on Kelly, I think our deal for pick 2 will prove to be a good one. Roos has a history of dealing and it needs to continue to improve our list. Some good drafting and trading over the next 2 seasons could really change things as other club's older better players retire.
  18. Agree but he has to be played there, in the middle of the contest.
  19. Gee we will have to begin "operation turn OD around".
  20. Very sad news. Jockey Nathan Berry dies of virus caught while in Singapore. Condolences to his family and friends.
