Beautiful.

I am just happy that we seem to have a plan and a team that are capable of executing it.To stop our leaking goals was the first step. To bring in new players and get them game time is the second. To turn over the list and develop players is the third. We are on the way. Wins are great but honourable losses are part of the change.

It's ok to forget the bad days.

We are learning to lock sides down and that is a real plus for when we can get our midfield and forward line right. That is the start of the way back. Next get game time into the possibles and improve the list.

Didn't Bennell,s man kick 3-4 goals.

The key to to all of this to me , is that while we are implementing the new game plan, we are able to keep the list happy and committed. They need to see the improvement coming as the game plan is adopted and the personnel evolves. In Roos, I believe we have the Coach who can achieve this.

A quick hit of the delete button and they will be gone, if that is the case.

Grateful for foxtel remote as already set the next two games to record and hope to set the bulldogs game while o/s. Hope they are worth watching.

AD just said our game Anzac eve won't happen. Too hard when Anzac day falls early in the week.
-
Perhaps we shouldn't.

WJ raised an interesting issue with me last night while we were out dining with our SWMBO. Why do we seem to be the club that is forced to wear alternative strips so often? There are other clubs that seem to clash more but still wear their club jumper.

Robbo just said he thinks Moloney's career is finished
Redleg replied to Gorgoroth's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Robbo thinks Beamer is finished, then I expect Beamer to return to the Lions side and play some good footy. That said, it may well be his last year in the AFL. He turns 31 next January. -
True. We could be broke, but if were winning games no one would care and the media would call us a successful club.

Well done Rohan. A late draft pick and with several injuries and not the most talent, gives his all.
-
Agree. It is not too difficult to stay back an extra metre and ensure your kick goes over the man on the mark. We seem to be masters at stuffing it up. Several of our players do it.
-
Hope you are right. I think we may have to accept that he might not play this year. Frustrating for him more than us. As far as leaving goes, I heard he really likes Melbourne the place, likes his team mates and I would presume his Coach. If we end up paying him for not playing this year, I would approach his management at the end of the year or earlier and attempt to extend his contract beyond next year. He appears a decent kid and I think morally he may feel that it is not unreasonable, given we will have paid him for 2 years already and not got one AFL game from him. If he refused to do that, I then think we would be in trouble with him staying beyond 2015.

Off tomorrow night for a few weeks. Looking to invest in an overseas banana plantation. Keep up the banter guys, love reading it.

You won't need any dinner tonight then.

I am interested in why you think we are bringing him in too soon. Robert Shaw his former coach said he is a tough kid, who will handle himself in the AFL. He is not a skinny runt. He is not the first young player to be blooded in the AFL this year. Several of those are doing very well. Our recruiters thought, as does a mate of mine, who has seen him play a lot, that he will be a very good AFL player. He has played at Casey with at least 1 BOG against men. His Coaches have now seen him in action and training. I don't know if we are bringing him in too soon, I just wonder why you think that. When do you think the right time would be?

Unless you don't swerve away or brake.

Saty, you know me and know I am not the hysterical type. I also don't have beer and pies at the footy or hurl abuse at our players. However I was disgusted with Jack's attitude on sunday. It is not the first time this year that I have felt that. Personally I like Jack and have spoken to him several times and have found him to be a very nice guy. BUT, when you are an AFL player and get a lot of money, from a club that we all raise funds for and invest our passion in, certain minimum standards must be displayed. One of those is trying your best. Jack clearly did not. I know Jack is not a ferocious player and I make allowances for that, but when the ball is there you go for it, when your opponent has it you tackle and chase, you don't stand there pointing, which is basically all he did all game. On one occasion right in front of me, he was in front of Prestia, who comes up to his navel, when a pass was coming and he was so worried about getting hurt by Prestia, who was behind him, he put out one hand and dropped a simple mark. It was nothing short of pathetic. Lastly, I won't be going up to Jack to tell him this personally, as it is not my place to do so, but I am sure the Coaches will. I would not be shocked if he is dropped this week.

What about the removal of banana privileges?

Says a lot about the AFL trying to make all teams competitive. They have a draft and then after bottom teams have developed their picks, they are taken by the stronger clubs. Sensational idea by the AFL. No coincidence, that we as the worst team of the last 8 years, have lost the most amount of players to free agency. How is that meant to help us be competitive? I personally think this is another stuff up by the AFL. Same group that charges $18.00 for a 2 week old baby to go to the footy. Pathetic.
