  1. Agree he played well. Love the way you always manage to throw in that bit of support for your man Jordie. Perhaps I will do the same for mine, jack Grimes. Thought he has played well lately and especially sunday and that goal. It nearly made up for the one he missed from much closer in.
  2. Going to the G this sunday to see the Dees play. Looking forward to it.
  3. It is agreed by all parties that the players took something. That something must have been paid for by someone. The amount of drugs suggested would clearly have been expensive and too much for an individual to have paid for. If an individual had indeed paid for the drugs, for the use of the playing list, it is fair to assume he would have been reimbursed by the club. Therefore where are the invoices, delivery dockets, receipts, cheque butts, proof of payment of these drugs? They must have been in the custody of the club at some time. The Switkowski Report commissioned and accepted by the club, makes a finding that the club was involved in a massive pharmacological program of experimentation. To come to this conclusion which the club again has accepted, Switkowski must have seen documents relating to the above, or at the very least received overwhelming evidence by oral statements that the program existed. Where are the documents that the club would have been in possession of? If they are now not in existence, why not and who is resposible. Dank cannot be responsible for that. Surely the production of these documents would be the key plank in any defence by an honest club, unless they proved guilt.
  4. Agree. It just didn't stop.
  5. It is nice to be the supporter of a football club again.
  6. Yes, but you are also acknowledged not to be a drug cheat, because you were duped over what you took. That is very significant for people's futures.
  7. ASADA through its CEO has said that it is prepared to accept a No Fault finding, based on an acceptance by the individual admitting taking banned drugs. It has further said that it believes the players may have been duped into taking banned drugs while being told they were legal.Co-operation by the players and the guilty plea could lead to a 75% reduction of the mandatory 2 year ban and in an unbelievable move, they have even offered to accept part of the ban in the off season. That means if Player A pleads guilty and co-operates with further interviews, he would be banned for the rest of this season and from training with the club until the end of the year. In Jobe Watson's case he would probably keep his Brownlow. In other player's cases they would be free to play and train from January 1, next year, have the whole matter behind them and not be regarded as a drug cheat, who knowingly took banned drugs. I think the Mafia call that an offer too good to refuse. The alternative is to fight on for years, with the reultant mental, physical and financial strain and probably cop 2 years anyway at the end of it all and possibly carry the label of a drug cheat for the rest of their lives. These poor boys have to already live with the fear of future side effects, from the unknown ( according to the club ), substances, that this disgraceful club injected them with.
  8. No argument from me.
  9. He isn't a top 5 pick so no real danger at this stage of anyone forcing us to use any higher than a 2nd round pick.We look like being somewhere in the first 4-5 picks at this stage.
  10. I recall one weekend about 2 years ago, Drain Russell lambasting us for getting about 22000 to a sunday mother's day game against an interstate side, while at the same time saying that a Port crowd at home of about 7000 the week before in a reasonable time slot was ok, because they were struggling at the time. We can all recall of course how brilliantly we were travelling in the last 2 years when this happened. I feel like Denham, Barrett and occasionally Wilson, Russell really has some problem with the MFC.
  11. Will fit right in with my banana diet.
  12. I can assure you that Roos first priority is another 1-2 good mids, before a key forward. That is from the horse's mouth.
  13. WJ and myself were named by Wayne Johnson, last night at their 150th dinner, as the men who started his league career, when we tried to get him to the Dees. He was named in the best 10 players ever for Carlton.
  14. I think he had 2 possessions. If any injured player is fit next week he will out. Looked heavy.
  15. Going to watch Sylvia come on as the sub and see how he goes.
  16. Read more: Time to put players, club and the game ahead of lengthy legal stoush This is one Wilson article I agree with entirely.
  17. Watching the game last night and the QB game, it is clear to see that our disposal is poor compared to the good teams. That is the area we most need to address IMO.
  18. Given that the ASADA CEO is basically offering 6 month bans, with some of the ban in season and some out, to players who aceept a no fault finding, any half sensible lawyer would be telling his client to grab it ASAP. That means that a player could be banned for the rest of this season and half the pre season training, have no finding as a drug cheat and be free to resume his career at the start of 2015. If I was a player with a Notice i would be at the front door of ASADA now asking for a pen to sign the deal. This will drive a huge wedge between the club and players IMO. This is the chance to end this and the club and its former Coach are doing the opposite. I suggest the entire Essendon Board and its Doctor, think seriously about immediately retiring.
  19. ASADA has plenty of copies.
  20. 34 different substances given to the Bombers players in 2012 according to the Sun today. Again the club refuses to address the real issues.
  21. Ryan OKeefe will be delisted this year. He will go to whichever club he wants without a trade. I am not sure of the rule on whether delisted players taken, weaken your free agent loss compensation. I would be pretty confident that it doesn't and is irrelevant. Only Free Agents taken should affect Free Agent loss compensation. FWIW, Ryan is probably slower than me.
  22. Agree.
  23. Ok. The usual we are working on Defence first and then we will work on winning. Said Jesse Hogan is expected to play some games later in the year. Said some of the younger boys may need a break as he doesn't want to overdo it with them. Said Luke Tapscott has been cruelled by injuries. Said Blease was improving and was working on areas advised to him by the Coaches. Said he thought that if the goal was allowed to Vince, we would probably have gone in at 3/4 time 3 points down and then who knows what could have happened. Said the disallowed goal killed momentum and he felt the team were deflated by it. Said our disposal into the forward line on Monday was very poor. Said he would rather get a top midfielder next year than another big forward. Got the feeling he is confident about Dawes, Hogan and is hopeful of a retired player returning ( my take on it, I could be wrong ). Said Fitzy is improving and is another option and mentioned Kent as one who could come in maybe this week.
