Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Redleg replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
And they would naturally guess that they were being investigated by the ACC? Don't think so. IMO he was just warning them that the word was around that they were up to something and the best thing for them would be to come forward, or risk harsher penalties if it came out. Just like the ATO. That is what a CEO should do. -

What? He rang the club concerned, the only one he needed to ring. -

As For Little saying how dare Harcourt mention the word Cancer in a medical conference, I say how dare you not mention it to the players and their parents. Harcourt was discussing the evils of drugs with other medical people and clearly sharing info at a medical conference. That's what the medical profession does to try and improve their treatment of sick people. No individual was named. The AFL is at least trying to care for the player's health by monitoring them. That is far better than waking up one day with an incurable disease, caused by a drug you were told to take, when perhaps an early detection may have prevented that scenario and even been preventable. You should be ashamed Little, you too Doc Reid and every other individual responsible, who is now trying to cover their own skin. This should be about the players and their health. The club and its personnel responsible for this and those now trying to cover it all up can go to hell. -

Calm down, AD was specific, that the ACC didn't name a club it was investigating to him. They have confirmed that. End of story. About AD knowing about a suspect program at the Bombers before he rang them, everyone in football knew something was going on, but not exactly what. Balme confirmed that today on SEN. As long as AD didn't say the words " you are being investigated by the ACC" then he has done nothing wrong in that respect. This is starting to resemble the situation where 10 people signed witness statements, saying they saw someone murder someone and then the Defendant tries to get their evidence excluded from the trial, because they didn't initial every page, even though they signed the statement in front of a witness and are prepared to swear up to it in Court. -

Players to target at the end of the year
Redleg replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just looked it up he is not injured. Must not be part of Port's plans going forward, has hardly played this year I believe. I wonder if he would be a cheap pick up as a backup forward, if our usual run of injuries continues. I know we need mids but they will come from our early picks or a trade. We still need a couple of talls, one back, one forward and maybe a rookie ruckman as well. Butcher is big and ready to go and apparently wanted to come home. He is obviously no star but under Roos maybe could improve. Maybe South Australian Tapscott and a pick could get him. -
Players to target at the end of the year

I still believe there are good players out there who have not come through the main feeders or have developed later. While the young stars seem to be in the draft pool there are mature footballers out there who could play AFL. Examples like Smith of the Hawks and Barlow of the Dockers are having great AFL careers after being given their chance. These guys are often later picks as well. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

I think she may be wrong on that one. Someone will punt we will take him with our 2nd round, especially a SA club, who would probably be happy to have him if we declined. -

This will make more sense to you " we took nothing illegal, banned or harmful' but " we don't know what we took because we have no records". -
We have actually argued that a while ago, but the general consensus was that he did a good job in agreeing to a soft deal for the club, but not for CC or Dean Bailey. IMO Little is leading the Bombers to the precipice.

On AFL 360 and in his Sun articles, over and over again.

Just saw the Todd Viney interview on the MFC site. Love the way he says "my club" when he talks about us.

Lawyers try to present facts in the best light for their client, they don't make them up.

I can't believe how Robbo twists every bit of news around to try and help the Bombers. He is not a reporter, he is an advocate.

Both, dodgy doggy goals.
-
Last time we played Dogs we also copped a few shockers in the last few minutes which turned the game. Dogs always seem to get dodgy goals against us, it has happened often.

We set up a base in Casey as the new big growth area. What is the increase in memberships or revenues as a result?
-
On the Couch they spoke about a 6 year deal for Chip to leave.
-
While on Liam Jones, Chip did well, keeping him kickless. However he was also on Bontempelli when he kicked the 2 matchwinners. In the first he let him run free. In the second he let a first year player strip him of the ball twice, then went to ground and stayed there while the winning goal was kicked. It was nothing less than a pathetic effort from an experienced big bodied defender. He unfortunately turns the ball over often. He is a poor user of the ball and finds it hard to give off quick accurate passes. Chip now gives off the appearance that he is playing out time with us and actually couldn't give a stuff about the result. I have seen him jog after an opponent countless times this year.
-
Garry Lyon was pretty savage on Chip, on FC on monday night.
-
That takes a quick mind.
-
Does that mean you are related to the F... Wit who paid that deliberate against Bail and then totally ignored a dropping the ball on Murphy 35 metres out from our goal, with about 90 seconds to go and then didn't blow time on when Minson put the ball on the ground after a mark, eliminating 10 seconds of play. Then the siren goes as we are running ionto the forward 50.
-
Disagree. If you look at the head on he can be seen clearly running across the goal, but is then grabbed and turns left for one step and takes it through. exactly as Dunstall described it. He is under pressure especially as he was actually being tackled by the jumper when he went through the goals. It was a horrendous decision. Matthew Richardson descibed it as a shocker. It then affected us on 2 more occasions where we gave away goals instead of rushing the ball through.

Bingo. Agree 100%. Throw in some shocking umpiring and a poor shot for goal by Watts and there you have it.
