I still believe there are good players out there who have not come through the main feeders or have developed later. While the young stars seem to be in the draft pool there are mature footballers out there who could play AFL. Examples like Smith of the Hawks and Barlow of the Dockers are having great AFL careers after being given their chance. These guys are often later picks as well.
