You could mount an argument that the Hawks have won a couple of flags with racist drafting/trading. They have ignored the right foot race, opting instead for the left foot race.

Jason Taylor said the other night that he would draw up a list of players in order, when discussing picks 40 and 53 and would take the best available at our picks. I wonder if he puts all the DFA's in that list as well. In other words we could get to say pick 40 and a DFA is the next on our list of available players.

Todd Viney the other night at the List talk, explained the problem with Casey as follows; bate, sellar, martin, davis, couch, magner etc leaving the club and creating a huge gap in experience and hard bodies, a lack of development of the players to the standard needed, a lack of consistent MFC playing style throughout both clubs. He said when a lot of senior blokes leave, as a result of our list turnover and then are replaced with young kids, in a physical VFL competition and then injuries occur, that is what happens, a poor season. The adding of a new Coach and Development Coach will address a number of those problems. They don't necessarily want Casey winning flags, but rather developing future MFC players.

I am not unhappy about the pick 23 deal for Frost, but am disappointed that we will not have a chance at Oscar McDonald, Tom's brother who will go before 40. I get the feeling, the bigger, younger brother, will blossom as an AFL player. It would have been nice to have the 2 brothers with us. I actually hope he is drafted by an interstate club, giving us a chance to get him later and less of a chance of Tom wanting to leave us and join him.

Disagree. There has to be some allowance for getting your money up front without having to do anything. He would have expenses that he also won't now spend. A fair compromise is the way.

If it is our next pick after 53, it will be used to upgrade Jetta. On a side note you do see the difference in value between 53 and 83. Unusual to pass on a 3rd round pick, considering where we are, though not unusual to pass on a 5th round pick.

People shouldn't turn this around and blame Evans. We gave him the contract. If we changed our mind and want to delist him, that is our choice, not his. If he refuses to be rookied, then we have the grounds for negotiation and compromise. Sure it will be sorted out in the next 3 hours.
