Posted this on Collins thread as there was info on Collins. A friend's son has played in games with Weideman and says he is fearless and backs into packs or runs with the flight of the ball, like Carey did. Says he has kicked 5 goals in a quarter in an AIS game. Says he is the real deal. I don't see him getting past Essendon.

Got a friend who has a son who played on Collins this year. Says he is a fantastic footballer, who crashes packs and can play forward or back. Said whoever gets him will be happy. Also said Weideman plays a bit like Carey, running back with the flight of the ball to take marks. Kicked 5 in a quarter in an AIS game. Several clubs very interested. On what I have seen, which is very limited and am being told, if we miss out on Curnow, Weideman and Francis, Collins could be a great get. Still only 17.

How do you know they didn't tell Harmes earlier? Vandenberg is on the primary list already.

He is not 18 and already a big lad and will probably get a bit bigger. If you took someone like him and he made it you would have others like Frost and T Mac who could go forward and hopefully later King and Oscar. Maybe even Watts stands up and takes a key spot. I actually thought Watts was ok early as a lead up forward.Let me say I know nothing about this kid.

With Fletcher and Carlisle gone I think the Bombers will be keen to grab a big forward to help Joe, as Hurley and Hooker will probably fill the defensive spots. Therefore unless they rate someone higher, i don't see him slipping to us. If somehow Francis and Weideman are there at GC pick, I think they will take Francis. Anyway who really knows?

I saw reported that to pick up a Judd was a 0.03% chance and I think that related to top 10 picks. Also that the amount of top 10 pick players who got to 100 games, was actually very low.
