It was a hilarious gag in the show, when the beatnik odd ball posed the question and of course no one knew the answer. The expression on the faces of the cast when he gave the answer was priceless.

Sad news. RIP. Great show. For the trivia buffs, do you know what the G stood for in Maynard G. Krebs, the beatnik played by Bob "Gilligan" Denver in "the Many Loves of Dobie Gillis."

Well I would hope that with 3 and 4 we might get a Toumpas and an U17 and I am pretty sure they should be ok.

I think you can guarantee that young JV will be a good player.

How disappointing is it, that I am looking forward to the trading and drafting, more than I looked forward to about the last 80% of this season?

Put them in the fridge and get them cold and then cut them up and put them on your cereal. Yummy.

For the readers of this thread I will pass on a conversation I had with our President recently. I told him that I and most other Dees supporters, are furious at our treatment in the media this year. Sheahan, Denham, Roos, Smith, Robbo, Warner and others have slammed us mercilessly. Even attacking us for having our players in their blazers at Jim's funeral. While criticism of our onfield efforts is warranted , what is not are comments like those from Sheahan that " we are a disgusting and pathetic club". That comment basically covers every employee and supporter of the club. In all my years of following footy, I think that is the lowest comment I have heard about us and it came from a so called supporter. In light of the above, I asked Don, after the tanking inquiry result is published and assuming we are cleared, would he go on the offensive, as best he could against our detractors, bearing in mind we need the media as well. I told him we needed to stand up and be seen to be defending our club. He agreed and said that would happen. I await his response with great anticipation. PS. I will never forgive Sheahan for those comments and hope to see him somewhere, where he will learn of my displeasure.

You are right of course, but with this club unless something is set in stone, it can't be guaranteed. I hope this is the last time I want us to lose a game.

Not yet. About 10PM saturday I might be. I think we need Swans to beat Cats and North to not kill GWS. Then I would be. Or if Cats win but WCE lose then North smashes GWS I would be.

Our favourite Melbourne supporter sinks the boot in again. OTC monday he said "I guarantee Melbourne won't win a flag by 2030". If only we had more like him. It's like having a skunk for a pet.

Could be worse, we could be playing him in the wrong sport.

I think we will keep him for one more year in hope, as it would be too much of an embarrassment to admit we stuffed up with pick 12 . There are enough others who have had a chance and been found wanting who will go first. If he gets another year he will have to show something or he will be gone. It has been suggested to me that we might delist and rookie him. No danger of anyone else grabbing him.

Well that is what our draft picks and our trades will be all about, except maybe for an Under 17 pick who may be a big key forward.

On a different note, Jack Fitzpatrick has been getting better each week and is now kicking a few goals each game. He is moving well and starting to really look much more confident in his game. He has also filled out considerably and with a good pre season, I believe we will have another big strong versatile player. Much like Martin he can play ruck or key forward and he has pace as well. With Gawn they look like our future big man department and not to forget we have a another huge player at full forward in Clark.

Robbo gave us a rap for signing Blease and for Foundation result on 360. Finally something good according to a Media person.

Spoke to Rory Taggert last night. I just like this kid and have a real good feeling about him. He is tough, quick and an elite kick. Grimes agreed that he could be a really good player. Grimes is also a rap for Tynan. We might have grabbed a couple of good kids.

Is Melbourne FC bashing, waning as an exciting topic?

Our late President says we didn't tank and that no instruction to tank was ever given, but that rather we took advantage of a system, that he didn't agree with anyway. His captain concurs and said the MFC didn't tank while he was there, which was during the relevant period. We have heard another player PJ, say that we didn't tank. Our coach has previously said that he coached to assist the development of the club and in the interests of the club. He never said we tanked. The club was investigated then and cleared. Brock McLean never said we tanked but rather experimented. The AFL don't believe tanking exists. Surely this will end positively for us soon.
