  1. Coach has already ruled him out.
  2. Go Scorps for some silverware, sort of, for us.
  3. I think Hulett will also come back in. I think one of Scott, Morris or Munro will miss out. I think Ferreira will stay in for his pace and x factor.
  4. , and big man Jake Spencer proved too strong in the ruck. From the MFC site on the Casey PF. Someone agrees with me. Interested to see his stats.
  5. Hope so. He was impressive yesterday.
  6. No, I posted that last week.
  7. That's why I said that this could be the Manager getting a bit more for Jesse from us. It is his job after all as a Manager
  8. I think he was being facetious. As were you.
  9. Goodwin was pretty confident on friday night on SEN that Jesse would stay. Said he had spoken to him recently and had a good relationship with him and that Jesse loved the club and the players. Said he would be pretty shocked and surprised if he wanted to leave. While not a signature, that is a pretty positive outlook. Hope he is right. We need to keep a big name player and show the other clubs that players want to play with us.
  10. Must have been. Spencer started a lot our play by picking up the ball and giving it to a team mate. I would also say his pressure acts stats were high. It was hard to direct hit outs to a loose man, as there weren't any around the contest, due to the way both clubs play man on man, leading to a lot of ball ups He negated Meese's usual influence and was scragged relentlessly by Meese at every ball up. Thought he did ok.
  11. Thought he looked very promising. Nice disposal as well. Not slow either.
  12. Disagree I thought Spencer was good.
  13. I am still one for keeping Dunn. He was sensational today. Not only can he play defence, he can go forward and kick a long goal. I don't understand the desire ny many on here to trade him. Garland however to me is cooked. A few observations. ANB racks up possessions and does little with them. His disposal today was atrocious. Salem will be a gun. Oliver will be a canon. This kid is fantastic. Weed has a long way to go, but will be better with more muscle. McInerney showed a bit and if we could rookie him that would improve our ruck depth. I am not a fan of Ben Kennedy. Newton is limited. Michie is a VFL player. Spencer was great, in the ruck and around the ground. Gave a couple of frees away only because he tried so hard. He is a handy backup to Gawn.
  14. Sorry Pro my facetious radar was off as I am away for the weekend and in holiday mode. I agree obviously that for health reasons we are the better location. We have been told due to family illness and missing family, that is the pull of the west. If it turns out to be purely money, I for one will be very disappointed. I note that every player that leaves for more money, always lies and says it is not about the money. That is a running joke in the AFL. I am still hopeful he will stay a Demon.
  15. There were articles on Garry's back problems and that they actually shortened his career.
  16. Saints are one of those clubs linked to every player mentioned as leaving a club. Note they are listed as losing money again and in the group of biggest receivers of help from AFL.
  17. Wonder if the club has played the travel card. Jesse has back issues and constant across the country flying will shorten a career and maybe further damage the back. I would be getting in Garry Lyon who had similar back problems and said that flying was a real problem to talk to Jesse. Also I would be getting a couple of back specialists on side to also assist. Interestingly Jay Ckark in his article referred to the arduous travel involved in being a player in the west. Make no mistake this is a serious factor in any decision for Jesse to go home. It certainly is a factor in making Melbourne the better decision to base your footy career.
  18. BTW I want to keep Jesse. I wouldn't swap him for Fyfe.
  19. I accept that his father is ill and that he hasn't decided if he wants to go home or stay. If that is the case we may not have even commenced negotiations. I want to believe that this is not about money. At least not at this moment.
  20. Because we aren't an AFL love child.
  21. Let's say he has decided to stay and we have indicated a price, his manager may have said he can get more by drumming up more interest. That is what Managers are paid to do.
  22. Sure fire way to get a bigger contract, get a couple of clubs chasing you.
  23. You don't want Hibberd? Your trading away his pick.
  24. If Dogs beat GWS they will have both teams in GF.
