  1. No Tricky, not let it slide, get an apology, a donation to charity and/ or a promise of counselling. Polis could step down, The perception would then be that the instigator has been dealt with and we move on. Do we have another sponsor Tricky waiting in the wings?

Yes, I see you added your middle ground scenario in a later post.

The instigator would not have been dealt with - he is co-owner of EW.

Of course we don't have another sponsor 'waiting in the wings' (for the predictable moments such as these) however, as others have suggested, maintaining an association such as this would do more harm than good.

I think you will find that the other establishments in our predicament will also take this viewpoint.

Some of his crap was directed at our own FFS and you would accept an apology. $ or not, that is weak.

  2. No I'm not, I'm with Bonkers who is a lonely voice of reason amongst the many posturing saints, holy men, do gooders and the self righteous who see no middle ground, no reason, no compromise, no sense.

So your solution then is 'let it slide cause we need the cash'.

Those kind of ethics have a habit of biting you on the ass.

  3. This company needs to be pulled apart in a courtroom.

Who would deal with them. & who is going to deal with the MFC now?

Does this club never check on peoples CHARACTER? ever??

Players & sponsors. I am really [censored] off. I just bought a new jumper with that disgusting logo. Thanks Demons.

I am seeing Fitzroy in the 90's here....

All this talk of due diligence - that applies to the company's position, not the personal facebook account of the CEO FFS.

You have a right to be [censored] off, but it would be misguided to direct it at the club on this.

  4. sack davey,

I still remember when he threatened to leave MFC

now he is getting paid ridiculous overs when he cant even have a decent game in the forward pocket.

Draining the club of its energy and money. If its not done now, he ll become the T$ of 2012 at MFC.

This belongs in the thread you started earlier today....

  5. I'm not at a barricade, i'm in the mud struggling.

But I will continue to struggle not because I am assured that we will make our way out, but because a way out exists.

This club doesn't owe me much, but it owes itself a great deal.

I put this in another thread but it is best put here:

I just think, and this can be considered ill-considered, that if we drop Davey it will look like we are saying "You are right, AFL. Sorry, Mr.Mifsud. Sorry our player gave you false information to run away to the press and the AFL Executive with."

    It is galling.

I want us to have a meeting with Mifsud, Demetriou, Thomas, Neeld and Schwab and, assuming Davey is righteous, walk in at the start and say "Grant - we are suing you, Jason - we want you to resign, and Andrew - accept the resignation, offer us an unreserved apology, and we might accept it."

What does the MFC stand for, Andrew?

You're about to effing find out.

Not sure why I picture you with glasses...

  6. So you were satisfied with his 2011?

To me he played 3 good games

Against the Swans...Against the Crows and Against the Bombers....all at the MCG.

    The rest was pretty ordinary....

I was reasonably satisfied with his 2011. And he played more than 3 good games.

I don't recall seeing anything as poor as his performance on Saturday.

You said earlier that he overrates himself, but I think maybe you are overrating him.

I don't expect him to consistently turn games like a Judd but I still believe he is important to our group - at least for this season.

His best isn't brilliant but it's solid and we need it.

  7. Stuie...Beamers Job is to extract the football at clearances and give it to someone in a better position.

Regardless of a gameplan...how many chances do you give someone?

Yes i know he loves the club, but right now he is in a position where he can actually make a difference to the club...

and he continues to not perform.

We have to stop making excuses for completely rank performances...otherwise they will keep happening again & again.

How many chances have we given him? Wasn't that round 1?

It was really bad but this kind of talk seems ott.

  8. After one or two clearances you would expect Beamer to think "this kid is good i have to beat him" But no it went on all day.

I don't think Beamer is all that smart. Or he is cooked.

Pretty sure he aint no rocket scientist and he aint no Chris Judd either.

I hear you re: Saturday - unequivocally unacceptable, but I'm not going to say he's crap and isn't important for us.

We need to get his best out of him.

  9. Clay Beames, Beamers opponent last saturday has just been nominated for Rising Star round 1.

His time is coming to an end, unless Brent changes his own attitude.

The old attitude won't cut it.

Not disagreeing necessarily but wonder what specifically about his attitude you are referring to?

  10. I've thought his number has been up for years, personally.

One-trick pony that will never be part of a winning team.

Hope I'm wrong, but he's lucky I'm not list manager, cos I'd have traded him last year.

    I disagree.

It's hard not to read into his attitude etc after such a poor performance on the weekend - it was totally depressing - but let's not get carried away.

He is no champion but he has been a proud player, a strong leader and is very important in our developing team.

Let's reassess after a few more games at least.

  11. The Southern Stand has been given a nice facelift and they have extended the bar in the Hassett room, along with the addition of some new LCD screens :)

But seriously, this thread was needed Striker.

  12. I knew some of our supporters would fall straight into jungle drum beating of Wilson and Thomas. I, like most others here welcome the attempt by Neeld at changing the culture within the footy club and we outside have to chill out for a bit and see how it unfolds.

I am absolutely NOT backing the players. They have failed me/us repeatedly. They need to tow the line, fall in or get out. So real or imagined discontent, don't even go there!

    Absolutely agree.

Regardless of the rumors - the stats from Sat show Beamer with ZERO marks and 2 tackles. Staggering.

  13. Too early to know if Neeld can coach, but he did not seem to make many moves today.

Jamar was getting smashed in the ruck, Clark was useless up forward, why didn't he switch them for five minutes and see what happens? Watts, although playing well on the wing, was never moved deep, Rivers should have been dragged as he can not match up with anyone, sub was to late. Match day coaching today seemed poor, but there is a long way to go until he can be fairly judged.

"Jamar was smashed in the ruck"... as was SM! Should we need to play a KF as ruck over two bona fide ruckmen? Clark was playing up the ground a lot of the time and Watts was moved deep at times.

Rivers' strength is the loose / 3rd man reading the play - I wouldn't be isolating that weakness over our mids getting smashed.

I don't think any match day tinkering could have overcome the chaos I was witnessing.
