  1. aaahhh hahahahaha great work tiger! I was at the 2000 grannie, such a disappointing day.
  2. Yea 1st ever game, the reason I'm going and I thought he might have been Union when it was 1st announced. As I said previously if the Rebels are not looking to have there admin or training there hopefully it will open up a lot more space and the Dee's can look at rolling all of the staff into the new stadium. Also frees up training/pools/gym up for us to use too I would expect.
  3. League mate... I didn't look at the draw when I bought the tickets, rather expensive not to head along now. Rookie bloody mistake on my part! I missed the Lions game too damn it.
  4. I'm going on Friday night to the League (meh) but really keen to see what it's like, doubt I'll be able to sneak a peak underneath. Also chance for us to have a heap more room with The Rebels looking to take over either Princess Park once the Storm moves to AAMI or Glenferrie or Moorabin for there admin and training venue!!!! The AGe
  5. He has done exactly the same thing on a number of occasions this year. Good to see from a 1st year player let alone a veteran. He is a team lifter.
  6. Found this nugget in an article about Hawkins: New Fwds The new generation of key forwards is slightly shorter, but all subscribe to the same philosophy. Forever on the move, whether working laterally across the ground or pushing up aggressively to provide an option for the ball coming out of defence. "Multi-leading" is a staple of their game and it requires superb endurance and a mindset that has them wanting to work their opposition into the ground. They are forever dangerous, always hunting the ball and, by extension, creating space for their fellow forwards to work into. Melbourne's Matthew Bate and Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield are leading the charge. Bate is one of the more underrated forwards in the competition. At 192 centimetres, he is deceptively quick, always presents, and kicks like a mule. For the past three years, he has had to bear the burden of playing key position in a team that was struggling. Finally, with a midfield that is winning more than its share of the contested football, and one possessing genuine leg speed and an ability to execute by foot, Bate looks set to blossom even further.
  7. The players would be fine if the plane went down on the way to Perth with those two to look after the hunting and gathering. Hopefully they'd be able to find Beamer some hair gel out there....
  8. He's not blessed with a huge amunt of charisma but it was his 1st time out. He did spend most of the show looking at himself in the monitor when he was speaking which was amusing. He got a few plugs in for the Dees so overall 5/10
  9. Col needs to stop looking at himself in the TV...
  10. What about personal responsibility far out Roost... he was given every chance by the rabble and he continues, even in a seemingly overly supportive environment in Brissie, to throw his life away off the football field.
  11. They systematically rorted the system to win 2 premierships, if they had not cheated and lied their way to keep some of the best players in the comp then they would most likely not have won so yes it is completely acceptable. If MFC did the same thing then it would be acceptable. These sports are based on a cap otherwise the biggest, strongest clubs financially would dominate, West Coast, Pies etc. It has to be even for one and all. Exactly. Projected to be $700,000 aboce the cap for '10 He'll never get any job again.. can you imagine the interview... "so why did you leave your last role?" "uh I was sacked for lieing and cheating I was also questioned by police for fraud." Read somewhere he will be given the sack ASAP Police investigate...
  12. I have played footy against of few of our Asian brothers and generally they are fantastic players. Don't want to generalise or sterotype but from my experience the guys I've played against are: Quick, awesome change of direction and hard runners. Most have been on the short side with massive little legs. There is a team in the Southern Football League Div 3 called Southern Dragons who are made up of mostly Asian players. This is only their 2nd year as a club.
  13. .... I do not agree with this one arossoukas on both fronts. Thompson gathers touches all over the ground and if he is sitting by himself in the centre of the ground would you want him? Mitchell and Swan is a bit of a stretch too. Mitchell is a clearance magnet all over the ground. Swan runs end to end harder the 90% of the players on the ground.
  14. I do recall an article in the last week or so that stated Aussie has started to dedicate himself to the medical/training side of things more. Can not take the time to find it as I'm at work but it was a recent article about the club bringing him back with some caution along with the biomechanics experts reviewing his tackling style.
  15. I agree, after watching the game and fixating on NicNui (very hard to do on TV) if the ball is in his 5m area then look out anything could happen. If not then he looks lost out there. A number of times you could see him trotting through the middle of the ground and see his direct opponent streaming away from him. He being lost ball watching and not knowing where to move too or sticking to his man when needed. 13 touches and a rising star nomination is a joke.
  16. If we follow the Netwton/Miller premise of potential and time at the club Wonna will be a MFC players for the next 45 years.... Can not wait to see him back and firing.
  17. Aren't The Reb's looking at Glenferrie as there base? Not sure they are locked into the Bubblesquare.
  18. He had me so excited that day, he looked super fit and raring to go. He has the potential to add that something special to our fwd line.
  19. Add me to the list, I thought he was going on for a year too long and would have a steep decline. He is playing some of his best footy.
  20. I think this will be one of the biggest benefits... Imagine the likes of our younger players in the weights room seeing how hard the Storm boys train in there. Get some tackling tips from the storm guys. Also it could be nothing but beneficial for the support staff, medical/fitness guys to hopefully trade information on different techniques and ideas between the codes to find any advantage they can there too.
  21. Bendigo huh. The bombers 2's have battled over the last few years. Thanks WJ, I was positive i read he was on the Davey scholarship. Disappointing it has not progressed too far.
  22. He was good in the 1st ten mins of the 1st qtr last week but from there he spilled some easy marking opportunities all over the place. His endevour is the best it's been but his inability to hold onto uncontested marks let alone not getting close to taking a pack mark unfortunately are a liability.
  23. Let me know what time for those beers I owe you H.
  24. KC what happened to Liddell he was Davey's scholarship player from last season and had a couple of games in the 1's at one point if I recall. I saw him the 1st to praccie matches last year and he looked ok. Has he gone somewhere else now? If so who is Davey's scholarship too this season?
  25. Nope going with a couple of Demons mates from my footy club. I'm playing footy tomorrow too...
