  1. Flash is a tough one, game day evidence suggests he is not the player he was. Seeing him on the early (and good lord it is still early) form in the preseason he does look, in the repeat efforts, like he is off the pace. His skills are still fantastic and I think we would all love to see him return to form. The majority have faith in Neeld to turnt he club around, what about turning Flash around? One thing I noticed from training Mon was when they broke into fwds, mids and def, Howe went with the defenders which I thought was interesting.
  2. I didn't miss as much as I thought. Arrived around 10.20. Huge amount of on lookers from brief comparisons while driving/training by in the past. Looked like a bunch of media for the new arrivals. New arrivals did very little. Agree also noticed Viney in a tap ruck to mid session and he moves well through traffic. Does anyone know who the other ruckman in that drill was, had no number but he looked a little nervous and nearly killed the 'bag man' a couple of times Barry ran a heap of laps, moves well but looks light. Hogan... he does look a player from very limited work. They are obviously slowly bringing him along but he looks bigger, stronger than other players who have been on our list for longer. Even when we was just having a kick to kick with Dawes he goes at the ball, good sign from a future fwd. Not great amount to add as was trying to get my bearings for most of it but some observations: Lots of 2 player repeat sprints nothing really stood out besides Flash who does lag a fair way behind. Each portion of training looks like it is timed to the second, even if they have not completed the drill with all players whistle goes and it's into the next drill. The type of circle work drill mentioned from previous sessions looked like it was back in play, there will be very very very little going through the centre ofthe ground. Bal was worked from say back pocket with a switch or a hit up to CHB, from there it was strictly boundry run and carry. Trenners went through the centre square at one point and was told TRENNERS GET OUTTA THERE very quickly. In a lights v darks full ground stoppage drill it was just contest after contest after contest, any time the ball was held in or spilled to far out a ball up or throw in was had to simulate the next stoppage. It again shows the way we are going to play, hard contested in tight then spread. For mine (i'm sure others will have different opinions) it looked sloppy with no real stand outs besides it highlighting we still have a long way to go with out skills. Plenty of turn overs in this drill. Left while this was still going on. Overall loved it, players really vocal, getting around each other and can see some real physical development in most players but seeing it live gives a broader view and tempers any over the top expectations. The process is in play and it is a gradual build but the foundations are in place and looking good.
  3. On my phone the MFC site is difficult to navigate on, anyone know when the next open session at AAMI is? Keen to get down for a look.
  4. Cales fav are chicken twisties...
  5. Hells Gate has mentioned a number of times no matter who is still on the board at 4 if Wines is he will be a Dee. Hells does have some connections around the club if I recall.

  11. Every time Dees were on Tv this year my fiancé would just scream "aaarrrrggghhhh MORTON!" then ask if she sounded like me.... She's the one!
  12. Good lord really? Just have a sinking feeling with a Gys shooting off somewhere else. Will it bite in future, especially with a Prismall who struggles to get on park.
  13. "Morning.... great time of the day ta go f a rk yourself!" Such a great show, can't believe Dan is the same guy as "Have you seen my baseball"? Alma Grant... yummo. Treme is another series to watch and enjoy.
  14. Not sure if it was on here but i recall something about a database we were using to track lower leagues potential now days.
  15. MFC needs to be getting the social media bandwagon ASAP. Get on twitter more often, get on FB more often. Be ahead of the mainstream, not behind it.
  16. Lenny Hayes, Nicoski or little Dave Rodan?
  17. Rollo you are a champ in getting this all up and organised. Keeping people interested in it. If my old broken down legs would allow I'd be keen as mustard.
  18. Seriouly we have made our own bed on "fixturing" but fark the AFL they love to play us against Port in the early/late rounds and at rubbish times.
  19. Denham is the invisible pony PSY is riding....
  20. .... ahhmmm as in a hero above, as in ALL of those guys have been caught or implicated (Riis Mr 60%)
  21. Lewis brilliant rant about Lance on the Daily Show tonight....
  22. Used to not like "bike riders" very much, I used to live not far off Beach Road and had to travel for footy Saturdays..... you know what I mean! But over the years the Tour has hooked me. As IRW said it is (aside from maybe Hawiian Iron Man) the toughest week to week sporting event in the world. From a far I wanted to believe he was able to achieve what he did without the drugs. To be the hero above the Pantani's, the Ullirch's, the Contador's, the Riis', the Virenque's, the Zulle's..... fark it goes on and on. He wasn't and he isn't. He is a drug cheat, a liar, a bully, a yellow belly, a thief, a denier, a taker of money, a fraud. Just amazed it has taken so long for the house of cards to come crashing down. In saying that I am still in awe of Cadel Evans but more so of Bradley Wiggins. Mr Wiggins, I hope will win a number of Tours (if Cadel can't) and will do it with and an agressive anti-drugs attitude and the worst lamb shops since Georgie Best.
  23. NNnnnnnnoooooo not us in here...... pppffftttt
  24. I think from an outsiders point of view Smorgan has been a good President. The 'Dogs have been strugglers off field it seems forever (Mission aside) and yet they thrived on field not far from flags. They now have (as every club states) top notch facilities backing onto a community centre that will allow continues fans for the future. While some of it may not have worked (Western Bulldogs) they as a board and as Smorgan leading them for so long have been an overall positive.
