  1. Hopefully we at least tried to push his price up ala forcing Swans to pay overs for Stewie Dew even though Roos didnt rate him....
  2. Still a horrible little man here hoping that is the case.... Sorry.
  3. Over a number of seasons he developed into a quality player for us. He played every part of the ground, one week matching Richo or Hird the next into the midfield or off a wing then head up fwd to snag a few. Incredibly under-rated and sadly not liked by some fans. Hird rated him One of his toughest opponents.
  4. Hahaha that is great! Kudos Thornton. It's just a game, the kid is really good and was having fun, best way to stop it is be a better team and not allow him to "show boat". I do hope teams don't go out targeting him now (of course they will).Edit: just had a lookie loo to see the below, controversial hit on Hertl. It wasn't a huge cheapy but did get him high. "Tomas Hertl was held off the scoresheet during the Sharks' 4-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. He recorded three shots on goal and was also on the receiving end of a controversial hit from Canucks defenseman Alex Edler."
  5. Avs 4-0.... I know, I know! It is only 4 games into a looonnggg season and we are a young team and we started the last 2 seasons ok before dive bombing into rubbish town but good start.
  6. Watt bike? I reckon old craigy has shares in that company...
  7. Wowza!! Nice hands
  8. Wondered when that minor detail was going to be noticed in the article. Might be posturing from Swannies, or they have just not been informed of Dew's "intent" for when his contract expires or what he'd like to do now.
  9. 1 day a week, doubt that would have provided mych value to us. We need full time.
  10. Ryan Ferguson!!!!! He could have been ours years ago!!! Sewell I mean.

Pants, go Broncs... Gee wizz you know they can score, especially after half time, but sh I t the defence is such a worry and has been for years. Seeing Elvis D getting a sack and QB pressure against Miami was annoying.
  12. I used to think Schwab was a great asset to the club, I would see him at preseason games at Casey walking the crowd, talking to the faithful and he sounded like it was all going in the right direction. I enjoyed the whiteboard Wed as it was different and gave an insight into the goings on and again sounded great. The further away from that period I get the more unbelievable it all seems, we are still paying for it and will for years to come, possibly decades. I understand moving on but I just find it hard to hear what he says or writes without a sense of petty "pppfffttt what would you know, look where we are now Cam.." An old boss of mine took me aside one day when I was in my mid-twenties and said to me: "I have two types of people who work for me. Those who are outcome focussed and those who are output focussed. I need you to become more outcome focussed." I always think of George Costanza when I think of output focussed, running around with a piece of paper in your hand "looking busy" but achieving little. Turned my working career around (well after a few years anyway). One thing that has always stuck with me is to try work towards and be an outcome focussed person. You can have all the output in the word but get 0 outcomes of value to the organisation. That is Schwab to me, he talks a brilliant game and knows the business insights inside out but his output was a lot higher than the outcomes he delivered to MFC. One thing he said today on the radio was a failed high draft pick was a "opportunity cost" and how high that opportunity cost was. Well Cam the opportunity cost of having you on board for so long would stretch into the millions.
  13. I would be surprised if took anyone other than midfield, midfield and more midfield this draft/trade/FA period.
  14. There you go, 3-1 Avs. Downie being a goose most of the game, only Avs player to sit in the penalty box... 5 times during the game and lost his hearing aid.
  15. It wasn't just Neeld it was Bailey era as well. Only draft little angels they said... Those angels can't bloody play footy!
  16. ..... for all of his ability in goal and his history with the Avs winning I have a real hard time not being disgusted by him and his sons. He does not seem like a very nice person, in fact the complete opposite. 6-1 win first up is nice way to start the year since they finished last... will it last with such a young team and an average defence. How long until Roy angry nature start to wear off and grate on the players? From wiki... Roy was arrested for domestic violence on Sunday, October 22, 2000... On January 19, 2007, Saguenay Police investigated an incident involving Roy and co-owner of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, Pierre Cardinal. There were reports that Roy threw punches at the co-owner after he intervened in order to disperse a crowd of hockey fans that were blocking the Remparts bus after a game between the two clubs. A complaint for assault had been filed against Roy who faced possible assault charges in the matter. Montreal newspaper Le Journal de Montréal reported that Roy later apologized to the victim by telephone.[18][19] In a press conference following a Remparts game on January 21, 2007, Roy said that he was "suffering prejudice on the part of the media" and believed that he was not guilty of the incident. He then questioned his future as head coach and co-owner of the team, even considering resigning from his duties.[20] On January 25, 2007, Cardinal announced that he removed his complaint against Roy, before Roy made a press conference about his future in the Remparts, where he announced he will stay coach and co-owner of the team.[21][22] On March 22, 2008, in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Roy was involved in another on-ice incident during Game 2 of a first-round playoff series against the rival Saguenéens. Late in the second period, in which the Saguenéens were leading 7-1, a brawl started and Remparts goaltender Jonathan Roy, who is also Patrick Roy's son, charged towards opposing goaltender Bobby Nadeau. Roy hit Nadeau numerous times despite the other goalie indicating he didn't want to fight. After knocking Nadeau down, Roy continued to hit him. Roy fought a second Saguenéens player, then skated off the ice while holding both middle fingers up to the crowd. Coach Roy denied inciting his son to fight even though cameras showed Roy making a gesture towards his son while he was advancing towards Nadeau. After investigation by the league office, Jonathan was suspended for seven games and fined $500 while Patrick was suspended for five games and fined $4,000. The Quebec Ministry of Public Safety has launched a police investigation into the matter.[23][24][25] In late July 2008, Jonathan was charged with assault in Saguenay courts.[26] On November 21, 2008, Roy's other son found trouble playing for the Remparts, when centre Frederick Roy cross-checked an opponent in the head after a stoppage in play, Frederick was ultimately suspended 15 games by the QMJHL for that incident, which occurred the night before Patrick Roy's jersey retirement ceremony in Montreal.
  17. I don't think many will read that one...
  18. Jones contract end? That's one I'm worried about too.
  19. Pies have lost Thomas, Blues have lost Betts. It can be a two way street, well not for us as no one of note, in the prime of there career wants to play here. It will take Roos 2 full years to get players at the top to want to play for us. (hoping I am surpised after free agent and trade periods end).
  20. Lynch played his ten years and had chronic fatigue. There are examples of both scenario's coming to fruition. It is a guess both ways.
  21. No need to be a [censored]. So what year is he leaving the Swans and what for oracle?
  22. How do you know he won't be?
  23. Also Mumford has gone to GWS
