2025 MFC Injury List
We should all give credit our medical and performance teams which I know might be tough for some. As Viney comes off the list this week, we have the smallest injury list in the AFL.

The Hypothetical
But we do in 2026 and 2027. Two years of future picks can now be traded. With Tassie coming in, it's in our interest to trade away the next two years of picks. We need to load up on young talent now to continue building around our emerging <25s. At the end of the year i'd be putting all of our future picks on the table to get a bit haul in the 2025 draft.

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
The discussion around AJ, Sharp and Spargo exposes one of our biggest flaws, which is depth. Our list is fit yet there's no kids banging down the door for a spot. Assuming we keep Pickett, Petracca and Oliver, we'll really need to trade future picks to get back into the 2025 draft.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
I'll forever be convinced that we win the flag in 2023 if he didn't get injured. We were one forward short and he was in fine form. He shows up in big games too.

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Keep Fritsch as the sub for another week, was genuinely impactful in that role. Make it clear he needs to earn a full game. Could we have Lever, May, Turner and T Mac all in the backline? Turner seems mobile enough to play on a medium forward, or it simply frees Lever up to do his best work.

Gee I wish Lindsay had slotted that goal late. Would've been a ripping way to get his first.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
We're gonna get chopped up today. Ball movement is too easy for Brisbane.

CASEY: Rd 08 vs Southport
Can get them on the AFL website

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
The fact is we don't have enough depth, or in form players, to fill 22 spots with quality. At this stage of the year it's clear that the club still thinks we can win and push for finals. That's why the established, proven players remain in the side while kids miss out. If we lose a few more I really hope we take the youth route and pump games into the like of Koltyn, even if others are perhaps more deserving.

Wade Derksen
Fair to say he'd be getting games at the Dees. GWS costing him a fair bit of coin (match payments) by being stubborn last year.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
JVR has to be tried as a defender or traded. It's the only way we'll get something out of him.

GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
Sharp is a straight out for Viney next week. Offers absolutely nothing.

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Footscray
The promise is Kentfield becoming a future CHB is exciting. We need it.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Enough mids in the team already to cover. Good opportunity for Langford to show his stuff.

Xavier Lindsay- Round 7 Rising Star
Another Jason Taylor special. There's nothing I don't like about this kid, I've got question marks about Kolt and Langford but Lindsay just makes me happy. Looks skinny on TV but surprises me in real life, bigger than I thought and think he'll build a great frame in a few years.

TRAINING: Monday 28th April 2025
Hope so - we are desperate to find our next KPD. If our kids develop quickly we could have a shot at another flag around 2027 but we'll need a May replacement by then.

Tom Fullarton
Jeffo and Fullarton are the same. We've seen players like them before. No physicality as tall = you won't make it. Ever tall we draft going forward needs to have physicality as a key trait.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
I'm fine with the last quarter. Some opportunities missed in the thirdn quarter are frustrating. We could've been 3-4 goals further in front. Viney stuffed an easy easy opportunity straight in front early on. Oliver stuffed one with heaps of space from 50m out later in the quarter. Pickett used the ball poorly from a centre clearance after the Lynch goal, should've hit a lead. And speaking of the Lynch goal, it only happened because May had just been taken off after rolling his ankle.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Fullarton showing why it took Goodwin so long to give him a game.

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Good to see that it's our AFL listed players doing most of the work. Of the VFL listed, the best two are former AFL.

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
28yo, delisted by 2 clubs. His ball use at AFL level is no good. Credit to him for his VFL year so far but he's not what our AFL team needs.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I am open to Petracca as captain as a reclamation project. Most Melbourne supporters I know have little love for him. Making him skipper and getting his commitment to the club for life would go a long way towards his personal legacy and our clubs legacy.

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Turner for May is obvious. McVee comes in, I'd make the change for Sharp, but then not sure who gets the sun. Melksham perhaps.
-
PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
No change other than McVee in for Turner. Rewards the team as a whole for performing. Put Sharp on the field and carry a tall as the sub, either Jeffo or AJ. Gives us flexibility to drop Petty back if we need it.

Time to give Howes a fair go
200 games is a lot. We've had less than 30 in our entire history.
