That feat has already been achieved twice, David.

Nathan Buckley at Brisbane in 1993 and Chris Scott the year after.

Justin Koschitzke at St Kilda in 2001 followed by Nick Riewoldt in 2002.

By the way mate, are you still in Ohio or have you made your way back to Oz?

Look I never said it had not been done before. He would join the elite with the other AFL record holders.  fyi: Buckley and Scott won at Brisbane as well in years 1993 and 1994 but he would join an elite group, that is my point.

It's difficult when you are at the match, yoiu only see some bits.

    6/ Brayshaw

    5/ Oliver

    4/ Langdon

    3/ Jackson

    2/   now it gets difficult

    2/ Harmes

1/ perhaps ANB   for the last quarter  i thought he played well

but so did Rivers Sparrow Bowey  Spargo Kossy  Weide Max Viney Tracca   et al

The 1 votes - no, no,no,  way.  Kossy was not in the best 10 players on the day. Maybe he needs a forced "rest" Spargo - average Bowser - yes, played a great game. Very reliable.

HERE YA GO DEMONLANDERS...... ENJOY LATEST FROM INJECTIONDON LAND

1 We should have picked Oliver!

2 My smoke alarm battery has just started beeping. The night has gone from bad to worse.

3 Brayshaw 20 marks is embarrassing

4 Their mids ran circles around is all night.

5 Parish has lost his hunger.

6 They are clearly the better side

Their polish ball in hand miles ahead of us.

66 inside 50’s their way to our 39. The fact we remained in touch despite the weight of ball they had fwd prob wouldn’t happen too often.

Their mids flogged us really for possessions. Winning at the contest and using it far better around the ground. 30+ from both their wingers who are gut running machines both offensively and defensively

    Another random observation.

    Langdon time on ground 100%.
For 30+ touches, a freak goal that ended us, and a zillion kms ran.

We need to get fitter if we are going to get to that top echelon.

    Theirs
    Petracca 92%
    Oliver 88%
    Brayshaw 87%
    Viney 74%

And Rutten says :- " But we have played three of last years finalists already"  Drrrr  And your point ?

Heard on SEN that Trac was seen hobbling around yesterday. Does anyone have anymore on that?

Yes that is right, he has a case of the Footy being unable to detach itself from his retina. He sees eye to eye with it.. !!!

  5. I reckon The Casey players from last weekend should all play and give our 23 a good "rest" - like they can sleep in, or enjoy some gardening at home...... That way we can expect to win by a reasonable but fair number such as 40 points rather than the commented 60 -80 points as mentioned here  which would be so embarrassing for the Gliders. Let's be fair folks...

Like most of Ralph's offerings he gives the impression he's telling you something while telling you absolutely nothing. He's wasted in the footy media. A highly successful career in public office has gone begging.

Luke's manager will be loving this. His young client's profile is being pushed further skyward and his value to Melbourne & all other suitors is appreciating by the week.

I hope he signs for MFC - in his own good time - for obvious selfish reasons but also for young Luke himself. I can't begin to imagine the pressure he'd be under should he return to WA. He'd be seen as a saviour & messiah and the scrutiny on his performance would be intense. The goldfish bowl over west is a hell of a lot smaller and contains fewer fish. Even for someone who appears as laid back as Luke, that would be hard to handle. There a quite a few cautionary tales about unhappy homecomings. He's still a very, very young man

I heard sometime ago that Jacko's were uprooting their life and moving East so why would he sign with any "West" team ?

If we were to cull now who would we cull? I think we will do the minimum culling and that would be 3. My picks to be culled at the end of the year would be Melksham, Baker and Rosman. Thoughts?

Maybe just maybe we are raising this subject a tad early in the Season but the way I see it is that the word "cull" will not be the prime motivation for space on the list at the seasons end rather than retirements in Melks, Hibbo, Daw and maybe a "cull" on Rosman. That's it folks !!!!

Two rising star nominations and a premiership medallion in 9 games.

With an award every three games, it's quite possible he'll win the brownlow three times this year, the coleman medal, the norm smith and the rising star.

and don't forget, another Premiership..... and Coaches Award for the best player as well as the  The Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy

    A couple

of questions for our Casey watchers

1/ anyone kicking the door down after today (assuming all fit in the seniors)?

2/ Howes - does he have a “plays like” for comparison, and where do you see him fitting in ultimately?

The game standard was low and I suspect that has something to do with the lack of game time over past two years in VFL footy.. Dunstan looked the standout to me, I don't say he is "knocking the door down" but I can see him play ahead of younger Bedford due only to experience. Dunstan got 11 Brownlow votes last year so he must have something in his tank to warrant that. Howes and Van Rooyen will have to bide their time. p.s. Liked Laurie's game...

    I watched the game.

Firstly what a great win by Casey. Didn't really have a bad player on the ground, Weideman and Rosman were average but that's about it. The 5 day break doesn't really help the Casey players knocking on the door. I think either Hibbo or Lever will replace Hunt and the sub will be Bedford again and the emergencies will be M.Brown, Hunt and Dunstan.

Honestly I felt Dunstan was our best and got better as the game went on.  I can see him playing senior footy soon. Other noted players I feel  were Woey Jnr and Micth Brown of course.

They’ll give it to either Daicos or Horne Francis regardless of form. Gotta get the big names rewarded 🙄

Bowey I’m sure is devastated as he polishes his premiership medal

What’s the record for intercept possessions in a match? 16 for Bowey last night puts him second in the league by 1 so far behind Frosty.

His ball handling last night was out of this world.

Totally agree. His disposal of the Ball is outstanding for a player with 9 Games to his credit. In fact it is 1st class. Can only get better.

    Yeah, leave him alone.

Track wouldn’t have thrown him under the bus like that unless the club was confident.

Well let's hope he and Brayshaw sign sooner rather than later. I believe they both realise they are on a good wicket at the Demons and maybe they are waiting for the new EBA to be released mid year with a reported rise in the Cap. Who could blame them.

    On playing with this group:

”I’m really happy at the moment. It’s so good to be a part of a team like this
and the culture we have here and what we’re building. Yeah, it’s just a great place to be and we’re all enjoying our footy.”

    On his partnership with Max:

    ”
and to learn off a guy like Gawny so early in my career, I can’t ask for much more. So yeah, just loving playing with these guys at the moment.”

    On the contract situation:

“Yeah, who knows? Just focusing on footy right now, just leaving that stuff to the manager.”

    Nothing there imo.

Well thankyou for your comments. I could not find the discussion thread...  The words " Yeah, who knows " threw me a bit...

  15. To be eligible for nomination, the player must be under the age of 21 at 1 January that year, and have played ten or fewer AFL games as of the start of the season. A player can only be nominated once per season; if a player is suspended during the season, he may be nominated, but will not be eligible to win the award.

I ask " Why not" ?   He qualifies.

  16. Did anyone hear what I heard in an interview post siren between Jackson and a Fox commentator on the field... ?

Jackson's words on re signing with the Club sounded rather muted. I thought the words were " If I re sign....."
