  1. Amazing. Who would have thought.

Miller...what can I say?? Looks like, on form, he will be playing in the red and blue next week if one of our key forwards do not perform. 10 is good in anyones book.

Good effort Casey. Anybody who is watching the coverage able to say if Morton is playing or not?

Neither he nor Jones played today.

  2. Worth noting that Petterd said recently that while he loves playing with the Dees and is enjoying his footy, it would be a huge rush to be playing regularly in front of family and friends up north. He is very much open to the idea of going north, although not certain to go if they offer him a deal.

He's also a "follower" of the GoldCoastFC on twitter.

  3. Well said totally agree with what you said.

Some posters sometimes don't do there research.

Yeah, completely agree. Richmond Vs Melbourne in the grand final. Because as you say, anything could happen. I also think there will be 7 consecutive draws in said grand final before Bailey literally explodes in the coaches box because he's been implanted with a bomb that will explode in the 8th game after consecutive draws in a grand final. Aliens planted this device for those not keeping up. But yeah, back to the point - anything is possible.

  4. I'd agree if I could only watch it. As usual Bugpond won't display it on my Mac regardless of the browser I use.

Is the MFC prevented from putting such stuff up on youtube by some legal deal with the AFL?

Try downloading SilverLight 3.0 - worked for me.

  5. Come on folks.. get behind the Warrior:)

    Goal of the year voting

Its tempting to describe Jurrah as a freak, but rather he is just mercurially talented... and thank god he's a Demon !!!

As the song goes, 'It's only just begun' and Bailey has alluded to as much that we really havent seen nothing yet !! :)

If we ever wanted the "X" factor this wonder has Y and Z thrown in for good measure. 3blokes all over him , laying on the ground back to the goals and still snags a sausage !! simply amazing :wacko:

How good must it feel for players now knowing thatwhenthe ball gets downthe pointy end..that 'things can happen !!'

On his non-preferred as well! Wait... Does he even have a non-preferred?

  6. There are some, umm, interesting? comments on this thread.

Is it possible that a 10 goal win over Fremantle has gone to our heads?

We will not beat Carlton. They are too focused right now. Top 4 in their sights. Bailey shouldnt have to do much if any 'experimentation' to ensure a loss. (I have to admit though, that hoping to lose against the likes of Sydney, Richmond and North is one thing, a difficult thing to do in itself. But hoping to lose to Carlton is going to take a whole different level of commitment. Going to have to seriously bite my tongue. Hard work but it is what it is. Just get it done.)

And we will not beat StKilda. They will make a mess of us. They will be tuning up for finals with their only home and away hitout on the MCG. They will be up and climbing through the gears. The only good thing about this game will be that the season is finally over. That's about all.

I don't think I could physically get to the game this weekend. The idea of wanting to see Carlton fans smiling at full time makes me ill.

  7. My god, the fans of this club go up and down with what they think of this team?!

A few days ago people were saying we were a chance to lose to Freo (?!) and now we are a chance to beat Carlton at Etihad (?!).

Be more consistent and try and tie down what you think we are capable of.

    Completely agree!

We beat the 15th side and all of a sudden we can beat 1 & 5.

  8. I hate the Bombers, but have to say I'm impressed how well they have been able to mold a competitive team without bottoming out.

They play some very exciting footy when they are on, and are a good team to watch, with some good young players coming through.

    2005 - 13th

    2006 - 15th

    2007 - 12th

    2008 - 12th

Perhaps not technically bottomed out, but certainly a re-stock.

  9. Sorry all, my fault. No intention of pissing people off. I voted in one of the polls without realising it'd bump the whole thread, but when I noticed I'd found a couple of other ancient threads overrating the young list. Not that it's the same situation, but just how quickly things can change.

    Now off to the game...

  10. First training session I've ever been to so I won't comment on that. Spirits seemed high though.

    - Colin Sylvia came off after an hour or two and overheard him say to a trainer that he had stiffness in his back. Didn't see him again and I have no idea how serious the issue is. Read into it if you wish.

    - Ricky Petterd was with the rehab group with about 5 or so others but only got an hour in before icing his hamstring for the rest of training.

The draftees also had an introduction to the facilities and they met a few of the other players. They'll commence training later in the week.

  11. Sorry if this has been previously posted. Just wanted to hear people's thoughts on Jim saying

"But right now the board that I was able to bring together, as a collective group, we believe we're making the right decision for this football club to secure its future and to save this club in the short term."

I understand the short term sustainability in a business sense, especially (hypothetically) if the AFL is applying pressure for a "quick fix" solution for the MFC, ie. Debt demolition month. Or applying stringent deadlines similar to those that were given to North Melbourne.

However, does this also spell danger for Bails building a side for success approx. 3 years down the track?
