clarry has openely said he loves the club, the players and everything they have done for him. not once, not twice, but multiple times, both public and private.

I dont think he necessarily wants to leave at all.

Ever occur to you that the majority of players don’t want him there so despite his love for the club, he’s resigned to the fact that it’s best if he moves on?

25,000… a great attendance, all things considered. I’ve yet to watch the replay but I heard that the commentators mentioned how loud the Dees fans were, and that post-match Max also mentioned it.

On that, at one point in the last quarter, Max was lining up for goal and Kolt was standing on the goal line. I was in the front row on a flogger and Kolt turned around, caught eyes with me, raised his eyebrows, very subtly nodded towards Max and discreetly did the hand action of ā€˜turn it up!’ I turned to Ryan, our awesome chief noise-maker and said ā€œKolt wants us to go nuts!ā€ And we did.

Max kicked a behind but that’s not the point. The point is, it felt as though Kolt wanted Max to hear and see the support, which for mine is a great sign, to see a young player care about his captain like that.

It also confirmed what a cheeky bugger Kolt is. I haven’t been in the cheer squad for as long as others but I’m sure this is something a seasoned player might do, not so much a colt, if you will 😁

What I’m reading is that you were single handedly responsible for Max missing that goal.

Backline wssnt good enough. Cant be leaking 100 point every week.

You mean the backline missing 3 of our starting backs?

You also called for Spargo to be subbed off in the last, when Turner had already been subbed.

Might be time to have a spell.

I've been a Fritsch defender and while I thought be showed more desire to be involved tonight, my god, he is in the biggest form slump I can remember for a Melbourne player.

Shanked nearly every kick and made some terrible decisions when we looked dangerous going forward.

I'd consider dropping him but the options just aren't there.

…and your last sentence is where the problem lies - he knows it.

Plays like a bloke who couldn’t even consider being dropped, still living off a 6 goal Grand Final.

An absolute downhill skiing lazy flop since 2021. Zero defensive effort and zero grunt on top on an inability to kick straight.

Move him on to the highest bidder, this club can’t afford anymore passengers than it already has.

So with my membership card being on my phone, do I torch the phone in the microwave?

Luckily my membership card is inside a frozen takeaway container with leftover spaghetti bolognaise in it.

If we lose, no matter the margin, there’ll be the obligatory knee-jerk new threads. The only question is how many of these there’ll be. I’m guessing the bigger the loss the more threads.

Don’t think he is rated that highly by Dees fans but he is averaging 25 touches at over 70% efficiency

Not sure he is the primary issue with our list right now but keep digging away

His defensive efforts are complete garbage. Watch last weeks game, his attempts to chase are laughable, especially for a backman.

Accumulates cheap stats these days. I respect him for his past contribution, but he is either done or simply needs to work harder.

Out of the three (Trac, Clarry and Kozzie) Oliver is the only one I wouldn't be too upset about if he left but he's also the one with the least trade value. We should stand firm on Petracca and Pickett, we would be mad to let either go.

Sadly I think the complete opposite will happen.

I think the only one we’ll retain is Clarry.

Goodwin has had a fair go, bring on Choc Williams thanks. Liking a coach is certainly not a reason to persist with him and what the team is doing onfield, again. Fitness and the continual onfield turnovers are still a major issue that top coaches would have addressed with more verve. By any measurement other clubs would have changed it all by now.

    Dear God no thanks!

Choco is supposed to be our ā€œskills coachā€ of which we completely lack and the game has well and truly gone past him.

  10. Listened to Greeny on the way in today being interviewed on 3AW. A tough listen in itself, despite the commendable job he’s done standing in as President.

When asked about Goodwin he replied with the standard rhetoric response ā€œthe players absolutely love Goodyā€.

That’s all great and everything, but im a little sick of hearing it after results like today. Maybe the playing group love Goody because he’s a little too much of a soft touch and lets them get away with a little too much?

I’ve never played at this level but what I knew while playing was the you should ā€œrespectā€ your coach, to the point that you feared them and constantly tried to gain their approval. I can’t say that i ever loved a coach but I did respect a coach enough to run through a brick wall for them.

I know the above is a generational thing, but this team has way too many players expecting to get selected the following week no matter what their performance is like.

  11. It is now abundantly clear, the effect the premature retirement of Brayshaw has had on this club on so many levels.

Start the rebuild, beginning from the top. There is zero point attempting a mini reboot with Tassie coming in.

  12. Serious question. How long have we signed Nathan Jones on for?

Granted we are only three games in, but alarm bells are starting to ring. Why the hell would we bring in an untried coach to manage this midfield? I’ll sit tight for now out of respect, given his status at the club, but man…we are a one paced, plodding slaughterhouse right now with no second gear.

Up for grabs end of year according to McClure on ā€˜Tradies’ podcast, make of it what you will, does seem disinterested and not reaching his potential in this sideĀ

True, he may not be reaching his full potential in this side. But he’s also an extremely lazy footballer.Ā
