The situation is getting way out of hand. Sporadic reports, late reports, almost no reports, not to mention the state of some of the reports when they finally arrive. It’s 2.47, any report this late had better be very good. I’m sick of needing to point out the basics.

Obviously Melb are waiting for the official paper work to go through. That’s my point they dont engage  in fantasy fiction or histrionics like D/L.

Some of you really don’t understand difference between John Ralph and MFC or a D/Ler posting a topic.

I am sure some do but their bias or logic goes haywire or on fire depending upon the topic,

Its great when D/L predict what’s going to happen and is is a forum for great gloating while the website reports it calmly and methodically.

What happens dont some of you miss the Coaches and other interviews? Or don’t you recognise it or spy and forget.

Calmly and methodically??? Like not notifying supporters of a change in start time of a preseason game even days after the time had changed. The website’s long been a joke.

The problem is Melbourne members giving their reserved seats to their Collingwood mates. Should lose their memberships for that imo.

You should lose your membership for simply having Collingwood supporters you call mates.

  5. Is the setting aside of number 34 a gentle wink to supporters that Kalani has chosen the Dee’s? To be honest the GC will struggle to get him with their other academy picks looking more advanced. If he were to choose GC at this point I think we should hold a sit in at Jeff’s house.

I don’t think Harmes would’ve made a difference to the win/loss in the Pies final. We were 28 points down in the third quarter in slippery conditions and were always losing that final when they got off to a hot start.

i think he could’ve made a small difference in the Carlton final. 30 minutes of fresh legs coming on as the sub replacing T Mac, beats 0 minutes from Schache, which will go down as the worst MFC tactical move under Goodwin. I understand that he was coverage for Gawn but it simply didn’t pay off.

To say we were never winning that final is untrue. 2 straight kicks from Fritsch and McDonald and we win. Not to mention the countless blind kicks into F 50. We dominated them from that point on. I’ll agree with the Schache decision. I’ll also add that that was one of the most ill disciplined games I’ve seen from this team. It was a terrible night at the footy. Stuff of nightmares. For mine wins over Collingwood and Carlton are absolutely essential this season.

  7. We’ve got potential small forwards in Pickett, Chandler, Spargo, Sharp, AMW, Henderson and perhaps even Brown, Billing’s and Laurie. The inclusion of Langford means we’ve now got an obvious Tracc rotation so taking it we’ll play 3 talls and Pickett will return in round 4 it’s highly likely Chandler will get the nod. Then there’s Langdon who could be earmarked for ANB’s role. That leaves Sharp and Billibgs on a wing, Spargo on the bench, AMW, Henderson, Laurie and Brown at Casey. Of those I think Laurie, AMW and Henderson appear closest to seniors with Brown further back. The question is who’s taking Pickett’s spot in the first 3 weeks?

  8. For mine the fitness of Spargo, who I rate, will be something to watch. I’m pretty sure the FD want him in the side as soon as he’s ready. That is probably after 2-3 games at Casey to get his touch but if we can’t play Windsor in the opening rounds, if Henderson isn’t ready and the form of Billing’s and Laurie is less than positive I suspect he’ll play earlier, perhaps even week 1.

You’re short a 7th defender there, unless Riv is really only doing cameos on ball or Bowey is playing back from the forward flank.

I don’t think Spargo will be rushed this year, they painfully learned that lesson last year.

There’s a bunch of players who are playing to win their spot in the preseason games - AJ, Jeffo, the new kids, the new men (Sharp and Henderson).

Not having a go at you in particular but I think fans have to come to grips with the idea that Billings is playing to not lose his spot on the wing. If he’s adequate he’ll get the job in round 1.

Yep, I missed the 7th defender so I guess Bowey goes to the bench to take that spot, Billing’s plays on the wing which worries me. Henderson becomes sub (that’s a total guess as I’ve no idea other than a hunch as that’s why he was put on the list and Laurie gets a guernsey if Spargo doesn’t play

That would be awesome but the club that has the 3-4 AAs would be stressing big time.

Could you imagine this when we had Gawn, Trac, Oliver, Lever and May in the AA in 2021.

Sure but such games are played at training level intensity

I’m still thinking 2 talls, but we’ll know more about the practice games.

Im also worried Rivers will have to play back due to needs with McVee out. I’m just not sure we can trust Windsor, Salem, Bowey and Howes as a defensive group. But let’s wait and see if Caleb is even fit and how they go in preseason.

Wings are also a huge watch. Henderson could come in to the team and slide Sharp to Lindsay’s wing if the kid isn’t ready.

    FB: Petty May Howes
    HB: Windsor Lever Salem
    C; Billings Rivers Lindsay
    HF: Langdon JVR Sharp
    FF: Chandler Turner Fritsch
    Foll: Gawn Oliver Viney
    Int: Bowey, Tracc, Sparrow, Langford
    S: Henderson

I think Johnson has to play as we may well need 3 talks in attack plus some non JVR back up for Max. Langdon starts on the wing but gets to rotate through the middle as Sparrow can cover. Spargo plays if he’s properly fit which must be questionable. I’m putting Henderson on the bench as I suspect he’s ready to roll. I’d much prefer McVee over Howes atm and I have concerns over Salems ability to play a whole season. Langford appears the perfect Petracca rotation and I’ve got Laurie as sub as he needs to be rewarded for a strong preseason.

    B: Howes May Lever

    HB: Salem Petty Windsor

    C: Sharp Oliver Langdon

    HF: Petracca Turner Spargo/Bowey

    F: Chandler JVR Fritsch

    R: Gawn Viney Rivers

    I: Johnson Sparrow Langford Henderson

    S: Laurie

Yep - that's what I thought. But when you think about it, probably easier to break into Eagles line-up/security going forward?

He is a country boy so a move won't affect him, but certainly his life is here atm...
Got my fingers and toes crossed!

Are you close friends with him?
