I am wondering if T-Mac was training forward or back ? Thanks ?

Bowey is training with the backs which is interesting. I don't mind it but I think our main weaknesses lie forward of centre.
I hope Laurie progresses quickly as I'd love to see one of our mid-sized forwards left out for another small.
Could Bowey as half back push Salem forward onto the wing?

I think it is reasonable to think that this weekends team has been selected considering the team will play 3 games in 10 days. Are they planning on resting a key mid in each game? . Does this mean Harmes will play in the middle next 2 games?

I find this equally amusing, we have looked a clearly better team since Weids came in. He missed those chances, they were all kickable and he squandered them. But he has given so much more than Tommy Mac in the few games he’s played, let’s not sure d ourselves TMac into was in awful form and somehow managed to escape he chop.
Weid has given us a lot more than Tom’s efforts.
Last season forward entries were mainly poor. This season MFC played TMac as the lone key forward. Seems harsh to judge TMac without these considerations. I though TMAc was good in his few games this year.

I've always thought Brisbane have one too many talls in their best 22, and could probably do without one of McInerney or McStay, but hey, it's working for them.
St Kilda play Marshall, Ryder, Membrey and King and win against PA. I wonder if Weideman, TMac and Jackson could work well together with Jackson playing up the ground a little more. Would give 3 good targets. I do hope that Jones plays well though.

Umm...just maybe it is not intended to appeal to the older generation Melbourne supporter.

I wonder if they traded Frost with the intent to draft Young?

I wonder if the GC priority pick is still undecided and if that is the case why would Melbourne not sell themselves as being needy?

Melbourne lost by one goal today. Add Tmac, Weids, AVB, May, I reckon KK will be be a good player, possibly Ed Langdon, who knows maybe jag Tom Cutler or ?? and no. 2 draft pick (surely not a priority to GC) , maybe sparrow becomes a good AFL player. Fritch showed today that he could be very good next year in a stronger forward line. New coaching and conditioning team. No salary cap pressure (?). I am looking forward to next season.

Last of my optimism has dissipated. No matter what happens over the off season it feels like a long way from here for Melbourne to become a winning team.

I am a little intrigued as to why Kade Kolodjashnij is rarely mentioned as missing from the team. Does anyone think when fit he would be playing at AFL level and potentially a better player than some that Melb have been fielding?

I think what Goodwin says of the team fits with recent results. They are improving from earlier games this year, there does not seem to me to be much between a win and a loss. They were close to a win against Dogs who beat Geelong only the week before. Played well for 3 quarters against WEagles. I think the test for the coaching staff will be taking advantage of a high draft pick, an off season trade period and a greater player depth after a few new players had a run this year. Recent history suggests teams do improve dramatically from one year to the next.
I think Melbourne have the foundations of a premiership winning team with Gawn and a very solid back half, and will play finals again in the next few years.

If Weed improves his performance from previous years similar to many others in the team than he could be very good. Coaches gave Petty some time and I thought he was great on Friday. Seems to me that coaching staff have a plan and they follow it.
