PODCAST: Rd 02 vs Fremantle
Hello to Demonland's Gleesome Threesome (except when MFCSS raises its ugly head). Thanks again for your splendid efforts to make sense of the MFC and its travails. This might be a bit naive, but we weren't playing man on man in the first quarter. Were we zoning or is there no such thing in these days of helter-skelter football? We really did look like witches' hats at times. Freo seemed always to have a receiver waiting on the outside.

And who would you put in there? Petracca? Oliver? Oh, wait...

Yes. Strange, that.

Don't start with that mindless rubbish. How were you performing in the second week of your current job?

2nd year blues is a thing and XL and Langford are 2nd year players.

GAMEDAY: Rd 02 vs Fremantle
I think that in Perth and Adelaide they use Perth and Adelaide umpires. (Remember game 11 in 2022?) Does anyone know different?

Moved on? To the forward line? They are doing OK down back, thanks.

Kozzie goal - even though the Perth umpire didn't pay around the neck!

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Call me naive, but I don't get why we should pay a portion of a departing player's salary at the player's new club. Yes, I know we benefitted when we took Grundy, but if the new team is not willing to pay the whole contracted amount then they should STFU and the player should remain with us, unhappy or not. Casey could could use some drive out of the centre.

Jake Melksham & Tom McDonald Sign On For 2026
If there were 23 capable youngsters, they would be playing. We have brought in new players in the backline, but none has TMac's 85pc disposal efficiency. We have brought in new players in the forward line, but none has kicked 33 goals in a season or can lead as effectively as Melky.

PODCAST: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
We could all turn out but we would still be outnumbered 4 to 1 by Collingwod supporters.

Is Tracc a net positive these days?

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
I'm also watching Hoges and Bedford at the Giants and Harmes and Baker at Footscray. For some reason I can't bring myself to watch Jacko at Freo, though.

Has anyone seen Kozzi recently? Played two good games after becoming the $12m man, but appears to have lost interest 11.9 years early.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Is The Flash still involved in the MFC indigenous program?

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Why is no-one talking about Stuart Dew? If we can't have The Ooze, let's look at Dew. He lifted the Suns from the bottom to mid-table as his player list was plundered. He was recommended by Roos before Roos left, but the Suns grabbed him first, leaving the door open for Goodie. Dew joined the Lions last year as the skills coach and THE LIONS WON THE FLAG. Just sayin' ... Dew is still skills coach for the Lions (don't we need more of that?). From 2018 the Suns went 17, 18, 14, 16, 12. We stole Steven May in 2017 and the Suns lost Adam Saad and Gary Ablett for 2018, Callum Ah Chee in 2019, Izak Rankine in 2022, Mabior Chol in 2023. I'm not saying they would have made a premiership team if they had all stayed (Ablett only had one more year in him), but the Suns would have been better than 12th.

Is Stuart Dew available? He was Roosey's first choice as successor before Goody landed the job.
