  1. Out - may jordon

    In - petty brown

jordon a bit stiff after a solid first 3 games but was barely sighted today, if brown isn’t ready then jordon stays, melksham seemed to attend a fair few centre bounces which pushed jordon out.

tmac to play as the lead up chf which suits him and brown and fritsch to play deeper.

Jackson floating between ruck and forward and Gawn to float behind the ball and help out the backline with Mays absence

  2. I liked frosty but you can’t carry players who don’t play to the game plan and who can’t use the footy coming out of the back half, Unfortunately for frosty he didn’t seem to understand his limitations with ball in hand.

Obviously May will take the stay at home forward and with Lever floating as an intercept player we may get away with having smith or Hore take the 2nd tall but otherwise Omac will be needed, Which I would be okay with and I think with strong support around him we would see him start to flourish a bit more in the back half.

  3. I think if you add Fritsch into this forward line it starts to look fairly dangerous, I like what Kozzie brings with his pressure and nous around goals.

Brown and Weid to fight it out for the second tall role with Brown ahead at the moment in my opinion, Weid hasn’t had a chance today to show what he can add up forward tho in his defence

I didn’t confirm it was a cork. I am at Casey. Happened in a collision

The y showed several slow mo replays on TV and appeared pretty clearly to be a lower leg cork. Knee straight into the outside of his lower leg

Just our luck. Jonesy playing his best game for awhile and then goes down injured.

Not sure I’d call a corky injured.. would 100% come back on if it was the regular season, might get put on ice given it’s a pre season game.

  6. Wind appeared to pick up a lot that qtr and we were experimenting a lot in the midfield with Jackson starting on ball and sparrow in there for a fair chunk as well so I’m not too worried especially considering we don’t have a genuine ruck Either

I suspect after we select Jackson we will release some new footage of him that will change a lot of people’s opinion about us picking him.

I suspect this post I made earlier is ageing well ?

certainly looks much more impressive in the new highlights package and shows he could develop into a real talent up forward as well as in the ruck.

pretty excited about this pick ??

Absolutely not, we cant trade out a top 10 pick for 15 and 20.  we need to retain 2 top 10 picks at a minimum IMO.

If you can get the same player at 15 that you were going to take at 8 it would make sense tho?

I would rather keep 3 & 8 as well tho but just found it interesting that GC are looking to swap those pics.

  9. With Gold Coast today saying they’d be interested in swapping 15 and 20 for a 3rd top 10 pick, I wonder, if we really are planning on reaching for Weightman at 8, if we’d consider trading it for 15 and 20 ? and hope to still get Weightman at 15 and then getting a bonus pick with 20 ?

Taking Kemp who can’t play next year will defeat the purpose of buying into this draft. We could’ve just kept our 2020 first rounder for the 2020 version of Kemp.

I don’t agree with that at all, Should St Kilda have passed on max king last year Due to his acl injury ? Who is the 2019 version of max king ? There isn’t one..

Next years draft is heavily compromised with academy picks which is one reason we traded into this years draft instead and the second reason in my opinion is because we’re backing ourselves to bounce back next year and that our first pick would have been late first round.

If we rate Kemp as the clear 3rd best player we should take him,  A year on the sidelines learning in a professional AFL environment would set him up nicely for 2021.
There’s only a handful of draftees each year who have a decent impact in their debut season anyhow.

  11. I would expect us to have a very close look at kemp with 3, Him Rowell and Anderson are a clear top 3 in terms of talent in my opinion and I think we’d back ourselves in to get his knee right.

We’re eyeing weightman with 8 by all reports which may be a slight reach but he certainly fills a very big need for us as we have very few small forward options.

  12. Is Dion Johnstone an outside chance to debut ? With jeffy out we lose one of the best pressure forwards in the league and Johnstone has been praised all season for his pressure, tackling and repeat efforts by the coaches.

i know he hasn't been lighting it up in the VFL but I wonder if he gets a look in due to how important forward half pressure is to our game plan, and goody seemed to be a fan of Dion during the pre season.
