Knocking back the Lexus Centre all those years ago, has really hurt us long term
We got put at the back of the queue, and we are still there
Perhaps over the last 20 years but the Lexus Centre itself has a shelf life, just like Punt Road. As a facility it’ll drift towards the back of the pack given the limited space / development potential

What’s all this nonsense on here about “he should get a week so Kozzy stamps this behavior out of his game”?
This isn’t comparable to his bump against Bailey Smith. This isn’t even him electing to bump. It’s him running parallel to a player, trying to smother a hand pass with a semi-jump (if it was a full jump his hip would have made contact with his head) in the same way every other player on the ground does multiple times a game.
If he gets a week then he’s unlucky, but enough with this hanging him out to dry business!- 9

The thing BBB does that Schacke doesn’t is present to the half back line to get a mark that helps us exit defence
I think Schacke has been tried and tried with us and other clubs and is just too lacking in impact
it’s what you bring when the ball isn’t delivered lace out - Jvr bbb make it a contest
One thing that BBB does which always goes unnoticed is his deft taps in marking contests. Watch Fritch’s first goal from Saturday - came from BBB deliberately tapping the ball to the back of the contest for Fritsch to run onto. Does it week after week, and of course doesn’t show up on the stat sheet, but is invaluable to the way we play.

Do we think Schache is a genuine chance for round 1 as ruck/forward?
I don't mind it personally if he's upped his physicality, as he is super mobile.
Yep. He’s a lock for the unused substitute role

Injury prone, poor disposal and questionable decision making.
It’s a yes from me

The only problem with these groupings is the bottom 6. What a bunch of meaningless games to end their season. And what if you are a team sitting in 13th like the Suns are now one game out of the 8? Come the end of round 17 it's season over?!?
Agree with this, but perhaps you find a way to incentivize them? Team that tops the bottom 6 earns more lottery balls for the draft (assuming that the AFL wants to introduce this at some point). Or include them in whatever wildcard / playoff the afl want to introduce.
No disrespect intended, however you already have a bunch of meaningless games at this stage of the season. By having WCE for example playing against the teams around them they may stand a chance of winning a game or two and building some momentum into the following season. Their fans might actually be more engaged?- 1

I’m having difficulty buying that, wouldn’t we rather him mark it considering how good a set shot he is?
Of course, but plucking a contested mark in a large pack of players is low percentage relative to going up one handed (longer reach) and deflecting towards a teammate

I love BBB and I’m glad he’s back. Like others I think our fwd is still a work in progress. But I can’t cop anymore attempted marks with one hand in the air.
Looking fwd to the game.
This is him following instructions and bringing the ball to ground for our smalls. He’s actually getting quite adept at it - think it was Rd 2 vs Brisbane where he tapped it out of a marking contest to a small running by straight into goal

Ellis and Fiorini were the closest GC players to the incident and they did not even remonstrate with JVR! So the players on the ground thought there ‘was nothing to see here’ but the MRO and tribunal think slapping him with a two week ban is justice?
what am I missing????
Nothing. Easier for the AFL to pick a junior / second year player to send a message to all clubs rather than a high profile player where there’d be far more media interest. Hope the media jumps all over this and not just Slobo

Hard to blame the forward line as a collective when 1) Fritsch burns 4 teammates and decides to shoot for goal instead of hitting up a teammate for an easy goal; 2) Melksham completely shanks a kick to Pickett who would have run in to an open goal.
We've looked far better on Langdon's wing and if wasn't for the above and our poor shots at goal we'd have put 4-5 on the board.

So they already picked a round 1 side literally 3 weeks before the actual game?
Yeah nah.. I think your mate has stitched you up here.
It was probably “due to your calf injury looking at you for round 2-3”. Changed when he played in pre season and showed form and fitness

Hard to work out whether Weed played well or not:
- fair few on here saying was hopeless
- he had c.20 possessions
- AFL listed him in our best

Let's hope they're just being cautious and deloading for a bit but given the history here I'm not overly hopeful.
Or that Cherny wasn’t looking out for him and he wasn’t noticeable during training...

Plenty here in Aus too Bin (myself included). There’s many scientists who are also Christians and think science supports the creation narrative. Anyway, not the place for this discussion - apologies for going off topic

That is a ridiculous video. Just provide the bloody numbers, you weirdos.
What did I just watch? If it wasn’t for DL summarizing it I still wouldn’t be any the wiser.
One of the more unnecessarily stupid videos I’ve seen for a while.

Rehab: Hannan, Viney, Bennell, Tomlinson, Petty, TMac, Baker
Are they on separate programs within rehab, or all doing the same thing (ie is Tomlinson, Bennell and Baker still just walking)?

Anyone else at training who can confirm whether there is anything in this mystery shoulder injury or if it’s all part of the same rhetoric we’ve been reading ever since preseason began?

I don’t get why we would do 10 & 28 for the cats 2 picks. Why wouldn’t we have just done 8 for those 2 picks? Same result...

I was initially against the idea of Jackson at 3, however it does make a lot of sense.
He will fit our list needs perfectly by starting his career as a forward, lessening the workload of t-mac and weid, and giving Max a chop out in the ruck. In 5-6years when Maxy is slowing down and nearing the end he'll be primed to take on full ruck duties. The only query I have on him is his ability in the forward half due to his limited exposure there, but I'll trust the recruiters to make the correct call on that. Quality big men are much harder to find and with pick 8 we should still land a quality mid/back-flanker.
I’ll preface this by saying I’ve seen nothing more than one highlights package.
However, what he seems to possess is pace and great ability to repeat effort after a ruck contest. If, as a forward, he can bring it to ground and then add a second or third contest it would already make our forward line more potent. Effectively a very tall small forward.
That being said, I wouldn’t be spending pick 3 on that alone...

Training Ground?

Yep agree with that. It certainly compounded the problems we’ve had as a club prior to Jackson, Roos and co. Less so now, and if Caulfield allows us to continually have the best facilities in the league for the next 50 years then we’re going to be better positioned than Collingwood & Richmond who will themselves have to be looking elsewhere
