As we have just picked a ready made small forward who looks like he will be able to fill the void down in our forward line, would i be right in thinking there is no longer any need to take daniel alsop as a multicultural categry b rookie if he is not picked up in the rookie draft monday?

yes but definitely unless he shows something do not extend that contract is obviously what i mean and if his play is not up to scratch such as last season he may as well plays 2s at casey

I am sure of one thing though the boy is an excellent young lad and if he isnt picked up by melbourne or other clubs it will be directly due to club needs or being seen not to be upto afl level because there is no disciplinary issues with the kid. When he was just 15 or 16 he helped out my sons football team giving up his time and coaching the younger boys so I can tell you he is an excellent young lad with a good head on him. His also helped out with my youngest daughters basketball team.

Honestly, not very accurate. The kid is from down around my area on the mornington peninsula so last week I heard he was told he was not gonna be picked by melbourne but on the weekend I was out with someone from around his neck of the woods (Red Hill I think it is) and they said he was a very good chance to be taken by Melbourne as high as 85%. In fairness though the bloke was a fair few beeers down so im not too sure how accurate any of whats been said is. It seems like a bit of a wait and see game until the category B nominations are placed just after the draft but I have heard that he has talked to a fair few other clubs so he may possibly not even be avaliable for us by then.

Ps this is all information i've heard off the grapevine so it may have been contorted partially or made up. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

My question of lumumba is will he ever get back to career best form or anything close to that? If the answer is no then what is the point in persisting with him?

How, if found guilty, is Lachie Whitfield getting off with only 7 matches??? Surely this is just as bad as the essendon players or ahmed saad and defintely worse then poor ryan crowley.

I personally am confused as i believed the next generation academy was almost like a free pick and was wondering why we would not exercise our right to pick up the young bloke and try develop him, even if he doesnt come off isnt there nothing to lose and a much greater possible gain? An explanation on the system and tactics woud be great thx.

What are our chances with Hartlett as he is a straight out superstar?

Ainsworth is a gun and if his available we should defintely jump on him. Possibly the number one talent in the draft size and discipline being the only issues

What tall and small fwds are we looking at in the TAC cup as thats clearly where we are lacking the firepower?

Allsop is an absolute livewire. Watched him a few times this year and his got every toll required to be a great small fwd at AFL level. Let him develop a few years and he will be a consistent performer for our mighty Dees. He got 3 best on grounds at the medal last night as a small fwd all in games that had the national championship kids playing 2 of which were against Murruy and Sandy so the kids a big game player and also already has plenty of senior experience im told.
