  1. not one person who has disagreed has yet to actual tackle the issue. you all rant about how commentators view him as great or that he gets touches, neither of which are my concern. i don't care what his tackle count is, a player in the midfield should average 4 a game anyway. none of you ave listed a time where he has put his body on the line for the team. he has been a performer for the club, but again this isn't what i'm bringing into question. and then to pull this stuff about us going for the dees just from this year reeks of someone who is simply here to launch into a fight for the sake of it, attacking those speaking (without any facts about us) and not the original topic. claiming he 'would be in the top 10' is a useless frame of argument for this debate, as it is not what is in question. he does not win 'almost every' 50-50 contest put to him, his 'hard ball gets' are often handballs to him out of packs, and this is taking his whole career into context, not just the past three years when we have been in good form for the most

that forward line is arousing! i miss ingo
  3. totally agree! love dogga, always have. anyone who plays with that much tenacity should be respected because we all simply know he can't try any harder. only once has he had less than 19 touches this year as well. there's no way brown can be bagged

yeah, would have to agree. don't understand the point of the criticism of these players, doesn't achieve much. although i must say i still shudder at thought's of the (re)grg. and get lost neale daniher haters! sickens me, name me two victorian coaches who have been better than him in the past decade? he loves the club and we can all see it.
  5. i suppose someone has forgotten the 2000 qualifying final, and i still believe the forward pocket is green's best position. essentially, this post was born of frustration at watching 21 melbourne players put their bodies on the line. in the end, that'd why the, meagre, crowd applauded so vigoursly. however the frustration was generated because while bruce is willing to get the ball, he is not willing to take the punishment. now i understand the benefits of a run and carry player with good disposal, which i reckon bruce usually has. and i can see the benefits to the team with his role, however this role goes out the window when you lead a 2 on 2 race to the ball in the centre of the g, and then go to ground and handball over your head backwards, putting brown against 2. when your number comes up in this game you simply have to go, ala daniel 'for all intensive purposes shaped like a feather' bell who was willing to put his body on the line to stop a goal. i'm not saying bruce is a crap player, and this has not come about because of one game.
  6. if only 'wheels' had been on the team. now i am remarkarbly biased towards this man, but i really reckon he's sensational. rated by the club too, he often always misses multiple matches a year but still rates highly in the B and F. i hope he can get back fit and back to his best, would help us out immensely
  7. i don't recall ever saying godfrey is better than bruce, but i will always say i believe that godfrey puts in more than bruce. as long as they show pashion for the jumper and each other i'm happy
  8. i can definitely see your point, and the safety of the players should be the foremost factor in the rules. the g is not the colloseum, though sometimes feels like it. however i just feel in this circumstance that if it had been davey or petterd or bruce that tackled him, chances are the force would have been less and cornes would not have been thrust forward at such a rapid rate. i think its just unfortunate in this case that it was pickett, and he carries more force in his tackles. but it was definitely boarderline. i remember 4 years ago picket beating up our boys and many melbourne faithful calling for his head, if he tackled trav in that match in the same fashion chances are we'd want him gone. top little post i reckon
  9. why does the afl not let people speak their mind's? nothing in the media can ever be taken seriously. if what they say is deemed correct it should be allowed, no matter what
  10. ha yeah that was great! she hated it too. she goes 'this is an afl show lets not talk about vfl players' god i love danners, hope we keep him. you can't throw away 10 years of experience away for nothing
  11. good on lade too for his defence of pickett. good to see.
  12. yeah he's really done it his whole career. can't believe how long ago it feels since he took that mark against the bombers.
  13. Geischen reckons these guys are purely ball focused, clearly believing them to be premier players of the comp - "Where you've got Simon Black, Gary Ablett, Robert Harvey, Brent Harvey, McLeod, Thomas, Burgoyne, Judd, Kerr, all those pure ball players are often the subject of very close checking." i want to know which [censored] thomas he is talking about? Dale Thomas? Lindsay Thomas? Matt Thomas? what chance of the umps got when their boss is that stupid? as much as richmond i'd say
  14. what does an umpire get fined with if he brings the game into disrepute? he should have to pay tj's fine at least, and the 10 bucks i spent trying to get through to talk back and irate messages to friends
  15. that ump should pay more than 900 bucks for his abuse to the game
  16. yeah that's so true ey! i've always said that but people just reckon it's cos i'm biassed. every tuesday should be wear your scarf to work day
  17. if only davey had missed, would've saved a bit of pain. not like it was that hard to miss either, 6.20 after half
  18. i'd have to agree. the supporters really got behind the boys, and i don't think we've ever cheered them off louder after a loss. everyone in the crowd knew that they had a red hot crack, just a shame they didn't have more voices to show their appreciation. we should have a 'bring two mates to the footy day'. we should all make sure we wear dees stuff around town. sick of seeing all these pies scarfs all around town. it's half the reason they all go, because they feel like everyone else will go
  19. you learn great things playing for the mighty mount eliza redlegs! go the boy! brilliant 1 per centers
  20. and from a bloke who nearly bashed out the people in front of him, as well as his mate's broken hand
  21. fail to see how he is our 'best player.' being handed 28 touches, most of them useless, does not qualify a player as being the best in my mind. especially when facing a marking contest on the goal line against two taller opponents and attempting a chest mark. least col sylvia had the smarts to punch in a marking contest, setting up a goal. too often bruce is questionable going at the ball. if he played more like godders i'd be much happier
  22. very true, the hangover was so bad yesterday my head was as clouded and blank as an umpire's, all the yelling didn't help, saw stars. but i don't understand the [censored] about people in mcc, you can't say mcc was packed then [censored] about them being/not being members. if there were 2 mfc members between them, one here, then about 3000 mfc members rocked up. fcuking joke
  23. i reckon guys like dogga and bell for effort would be close, have been pretty consistent, always work hard. though the blokes who get 25 touches a game obviously end up with the votes. wouldnt surprise me if petterd features pretty well come round 22.
