  1. case in point, Adam Goodes runs up behind Godfrey off the ball and purposely hits him in the stomach, forcing him to the ground, not even one game.
  2. i'll say! Now we get to go interstate where it's always "one of those days" before the game even starts...why did i get non refundable flights
  3. odd that we wouldn't argue against "intentional" especially after fevola had just tried to hit wheels anyway
  4. challenge it and get fevola to say he didn't touch him, that combined with the fact he had a "brain snap" and he should be fine!
  5. i saw that, almost blew the top off! it was an utter disgrace. Too often melbourne players don't shepherd, even when shepherding should comesnaturally to a guy the size of a house!
  6. So you'd take the hollow performances of 04-06 over the chance to give a premiership a proper tilt would you? Insert [censored] statement here:
  7. Melbourne have had a competitive team with claims on a premiership each of the last 4 years, arguably most of the past 8, and it has achieved nothing. We now have a new coach who hopefully has a grasp upon what he believes will deliver us a premiership, if not this then why else would you follow footy. Maybe this task will deliver minimal success along the way, maybe it will take a while, all i for hope is that when it comes to fruition it is proven to be a successful tactic, wins along the way or not
  8. I think it depends over what period of time you're looking at. If you want quick success you would mould a gameplan to suit the players you have, and probably a substandard one at that, to achieve mediocre success. i believe/hope that Bailey has an idea as to how a team needs to win a premiership and will go about building his team in that fashion, from the ground up, rather than making quick fix quasi-solutions
  9. Must say i agree. I think we'll end up on the right track, but i'd like the coach to sympathise with our situation, at least we can feel we're on the same page then! Would make these losses easier to take i think
  10. And i never claimed that to get to the MCG you just "belt up punt road." Don't get so defensive just because it's Cranbourne, i'm fine with us training there but don't want to be told thats its easy to get to by people that live there. the mcg isnt easy for everyone to get to, but it is a central location. Semantics i know but all i'm having issue with is you saying to just belt up a freeway, when for me (and probably many others) its not that easy, especially compared with what we're used to.
  11. i signed my mate up today, that's one more!
  12. any info on next week would be great thanks, going to my first game in brissie next week, so any help would be appreciated
  13. Your first claim was to simply "jump on the princes and you'll be there." i'm happy for the move there, just pointing it out that it won't be that easy for everyone
  14. Jaded, i'll care if wheels is suspended!!! flying to brisbane next week!! haha, sad when your best forward is your best mid too. just reads the game so well and finds position
  15. Sylvia - Backline good move! Whelan, thankful you're back! jamar! what the ... mclean - massive effort today davey - starting to rise jones - fighting as always melbournefc - a million changes a quarter?
  16. baz how come only 3 quarter time scores? zebras tearing it as usual!
  17. maybe his gameplan involves whinging supporters that want bailey to work miracles with rubbish that have no game sense, aside from sir cale, rivers and matty whelan. i still think it'll come together as we get focus into gear through the removal of several players and instilling proper team values into the MFC. our biggest problem today i thought was the rubbish exhibition of the handball, which couldnt hit a target from 5 metres, but i think we'll fix it
  18. Thornbury, getting to the north game took over 2 hours. If we were to play against interstate teams there (massive step but might happen) i think the club would need to set up some shuttle system to arrive when a train comes in and delivers supporters to the ground, because it's a fair hike!
  19. happy with frawley, disappointed with no bate and garland. Bailey must really be seeing what they have to offer before deciding, which is fair enough, but will make for frustrating viewing

    Injury list

i second that! where is he? i thought he'd definitely be in the team this week
  21. Love the enthusiasm guys, and i know my heart agrees with you, but... Not a chance in hell, pardon the pun. By the way, we'd need to "appoint" a new board, we could not "re-appoint" a new one
  22. We are in a lot of trouble, but i honestly don't see how quickly some of those people feel we have to turn it around. Of the Victorian teams, we are the only ones not to miss consecutive finals series' in the past decade, and therefore have not been able to properly go through a rebuilding phase (or more likely have been unwilling to) and as such i feel our on-field status should not be as relevant to this discussion as it would seem. Every team has down patches, this is ours and it should not mean that we are to be relocated-folded etc. Problem is membership, crowd attendances, youth support, and i agree these have been issues that have plagued the club. But what does this article actually SAY? To me it is one of 10 others like it that merely state the problem we're in, with no depth or attempt to find a solution. What else can a club do to turn around its off field stability other than what we have done this year? We have appointed a new ceo, coach, football department head etc. all in a bid to create a team with strengths in multiple areas. We have been working with the AFL already to solve our problems, and i honestly don't think we have buried our head in the sand. Rather, with limited funds and a poor supporter base, what would take other clubs less time to turn around may take us longer. If our list hadn't been so crippled by injury last year and we had a successful on-field season, i don't think this article would have been written at all, but the problems would still be there, just as they were largely ignored throughout our 'successful period' of 04-06. The club must make smart, economical decisions if it is to move forward, and i think we are doing that. Caro even specifies that McNamee is focussing on strengthening our financial position, exactly what she said was our worst predicament, yet still this does not seem to be enough. I fully agree all non-paid up members must be sent this article as it is now coming into sheer and blinding light that our great club is in desperate need for unification and support. I think our club is in trouble, but nothing it hasn't faced in the past decade, i think we are going to get through it but it may take steps not all agree with, but if they serve to shore up our financial future and hence give us a springboard into becomming a powerful club again then i am all for it. Carn the dees!
