  1. No it is not karma, it is an unfortunate event and I hope he fully recovers - and that the thug is found and dealt with appropriately.
  2. Since New Year's day, there have been 41 managers moved on in the Leagues! Thats 41 of 92.
  3. What in God's name is going on? I hadn't even posted in this thread before this clown came along. I sponsor Jack Watts, why would I not want him to be a star?
  4. The same bloke who believes Newton has no flaws and that Grimes has a fundamentally flawed kicking action also reckons that players of 192cm are rubbish because it's an in-between height.
  5. Great to hear, good to hear positive reports of the club and that we've got a very important part of our future (our future supporters) right.
  6. And after all those missed milestones that TU alluded to, two players in consecutive matches carry their bat. Take another bow Dan Vettori! His team in immense trouble, puts on 176 from 206 with McCullum (IMO a batsman who too frequently underperforms) and makes a century himself after promoting himself to 6.
  7. Can't say I agree RR, I thought it was decent bowling but most of the shots were so unnecesary as to be laughable. He hardly bowled a ball that wouldve hit the stumps and should have been treated accordingly with patient batting. Yousuf's dismissal as a case in point
  8. Only days after Demetriou's fear mongering rant, it appears there are many options left open to the AFL. It also seems evident that the code DOES NOT have to stop for the World Cup. If it were me, I'd start the season a month early, have a month off for the cup and go without a couple of the main stadiums for a month (it's not like we haven't done it before). Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me, nor does it seem that things would be (relatively) affected.
  9. So for argument's sake, that would free up pick 22 in the Rookie Draft?
  10. The two things that stick out in my mind are: our best ruckman and whether Jetta would get a place
  11. Hrm, would rather 1858. 58 makes me think 1958...
  12. Why do those shirts have 5 and 8 on them?
  13. I ain't no teacher...yet. Did you see the stats for fielding first a few pages back? Reckon you'd be interested in them.
  14. I don't envisage seeing a large discrepancy between teams that posters will come up with
  15. There's nothing until at least Monday night (I'm doing this as a sort of bookmark so I remember where I've checked up to)
  16. Dude, I think you need to check when it was posted
  17. More history - there was a cancelled NHL season only a few years ago.
  18. Yeah I got what you were saying, I wasn't being sarcastic
  19. Chris Gayle has carried his bat. Absolutely fantastic effort - for all the crap he's copped he deserves plaudits for the innings he has played in the second innings. Hopefully has learnt from this innings (and Chanderpaul) to put value on his wicket in future. Doing some quick calcs - it appears only the third time that Gayle has scored over 50 (41 times in total) and had less than 50% of his runs come from boundaries, with this innings yielding the least amount of runs from boundaries percentage wise. Chasing 330 in 82 overs - could be barnstorming
  20. Similar to the way many Melbourne fans labelled Carlton "Carltank." Well put KS.
