  1. Probably worth a consideration Jarka
  2. Oh God here we go again. Arab shieks - Roman Abramovich
  3. Chelsea - Arab shieks? Huh
  4. Feb 6 - 6am - 7two - 1995 State of Origin - Victoria v South Australia
  5. Possibly the club could update 'twitter' if training is moved, only takes a few seconds
  6. I don't think so mate, Chelsea easily for me... Unfortunately
  7. With only 3 players over 26, it's kind of hard to have a focus on youth but yes I'm with you Dan.
  8. Rocknroll, i tried to "vote your post up" but it wouldn't let me. That's brilliant! Being leaders of the club I suppose they couldn't get on the turps, they have to enjoy wins in other ways...
  9. I don't particularly see how "Melbourne Hearts Football Club" is any closer to "Melbourne Football Club" than "Melbourne Victory Foobtall Club" is but anyway. I suppose those marketing monsters around here would know more than I, but I feel that it being different sports it's not such a big deal for two clubs to share a name. We've had the Victory, Tigers, Phoenix just to name a few - I don't believe that's been a negative for us in terms of marketing. Creating a brand new team in a city that's had a successful club for a number of seasons and calling them by the same name (Melbourne) is a bit silly IMO. I'd have thought the Victory would be the ones to threaten legal action as I feel it'd have a more direct impact on them. To answer you initial question, I think it's a little laughable. Like how we so often try to return to our history in an attempt to (almost) underline how important we were, creating a franchise out of nothing and giving them a famous monicker is rubbish IMO.
  10. I was about to launch a tirade at someone after reading that headline.
  11. Uh oh, I was called by an insider at the club this morning at around 3am. It seems the club are worried that he hasn't even made his debut yet and we may look to delist him mid season so there's more room in the showers and one less player to handcuff at the end of season footy trip.
  12. It looks great guys, well done! Fan, I used to just click reply and then delete whatever text wasn't relevant to my reply

    Tennis Anyone?

Contempt is certainly the word to use when considering the way channel 7 treat their sports coverage. Not even 7two has it on. Meanwhile Davydenko has won his first game for 13 games and trails 2-1 in the 4th.
  14. I'm pretty sure I overheard someone on the train the other day saying that he doesn't even flip his pillow over when it gets warm.

    Tennis Anyone?

Yep. Hopefully when this rubbish programme finishes the tennis will return to a bit of a contest. Davydenko clearly doesn't like TodayTonight either - he's lost 10 straight games to go from 3-2 up to 2-6 6-3 6-0 down. ARGH just found out that Home and Away is on next. Davydenko is doomed

The Fed express may have put his foot down (if only we could watch it, thank you Channel 7). 2-0 in the third set.

    Tennis Anyone?

The Fed goes bang bang and takes the second set.

Davydenko up one set and 3-2 with a break. Back on serve in the 2nd

    Tennis Anyone?

The same man who beat him in the semi finals of the World Tour Masters last season and just took the first set out with two breaks. This match is far from over, but save the hyperbole.

    Tennis Anyone?

He's lost this year already, in straight sets, to the man he plays this afternoon
  21. Tightening up at the end of the Under-19 semi final. Australians chasing 206 have made 4 runs off the last 4 overs losing one wicket and are currently 8-203 with 2 overs remaining. No runs off the bat from the last two overs. Aussies win by 2 wickets having made 7 runs off the last 27 balls.

Meh, using Federer is like using Bradman in a cricket conversation, basically a truism.
  23. I thought that initial 3 year contracts for interstate recruits was quite a common thing?
  24. LJ, Bate, hopefully if our midfield comes along Green and Sylvia could spend time up there, Petterd, Aussie and Watts hopefully improving should be the basis for a decent forwardline - plus, a better midfield can make the same forwardline much better. With that in mind, if both areas improve we should win more than last year.

I want her and Gasquet to procreate - the backhand on that offspring could not be looked at with the naked eye for it would be too pure and beautiful.
