With the addition of newton today, Could Melbourne pull a surprise and get Two forwards in McCartin and Wright ? We have Jones, Tyson, Viney, Toumpas, Salem, Michie, JKH, newton, watts etc so targets Dawes, Howe, hogan, mcCartin and Wright? Something different.

Im not doubting the talent we have on stock but as u said 2-3yrs. In the mean time it would be good to snag a guy whom would be around 22-25 age, played 50odd games and could make immediate impact. There has been plenty of examples of good players moving clubs, so to rule that out is silly. As for players improving with new clubs, you only look at Brown moving from North to play in Collingwoods Flag last year. Put it this way if they are outer contract they can be got. Geez look at the Pies, they recruited Brown, Jolly, Ball and added Tarrant and Krackour, So why wait. Yes we have to give up something, but it wont be a Watts, it may be someone like Sylvia or Morton.

What this post proves, there is a major lack of key forwards. Id love someone like Kurt Tippett but hes outter contract end of next year. Jesse White might be worth looking at.

I don't buy into the Age thing, Barry Hall is 34 I think and still going ok. So im basing on the fact that a Fev would be fit to play etc, he could play to 35. How old was Alister Lynch when Brisbane won their flags. All that matters is he is fit and playing to team rules and playing well. Then shouldn't matter what age he is.

Maybe Fev as your last pick, for a one year contract. If he was 100% fit, keen, mentally right, Know one could convince me otherwise that he wouldn't improve our side.

Yeah know the news about GWS and Walker, so will prob take the cash, but we should at least have a crack. My thoughts are we need someone who can split packs, create mayhem, kick a few goals and take the heat off Jurrah and Watts. Cook is developing but, will be a while before he may be that type.

Its been talked about that we lack a big bloke to hold down a forward position. We tried to get Hale this year without luck. Times right at the end of the year for us to snag a name from another side. Has to be Big & Strong (eg. Brown Collingwood) Why couldn't we try for Taylor Walker from Crows 194cm and 98kg hes a big bugger and would compliment Jurrah, Watts. I think even Tom Hawkins would be a good target, Wasn't he in same era as Watts? Anyway you get my drift, I think its one of our missing links. Who should target ?

What about Nevilles games this year. Im very happy with the way the little fella has been going. On the weekend against Port, there was a play on the Wing where i reckon he gave 5 to 6 efforts in one go, with his final effort diving for a tackle which caused the port player to muck up his kick. It was sensational.
